Bit the bullet last night. Uninstalled 2.4 and all it's add ons with trepidation. The 2.5 install went well. Love the brightness of the colours. My autogen is fuller, menus are faster. I'm installing add ons one by one. Thank you LM for improving this platform.i think there's more to this update than has been officially announced :-) The proof of the pudding is in the tasting :-) Jay

Think I'm going to shelve FSFlying School...
jkeye replied to alhefner's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
Hi I use FSFlyingschool to practice my landings.I agree the instructor is not always correct -I ignore him most of the time! but the program allows me to set up my landings and rate them and keep a logbook-that in itself makes it a keeper for me. Perhaps you could post on the dedicated support forum-you may get a quicker more helpful reply from the developer Cheers Jay -
I LOVE P3D 2.4. Have Fsx running as well but it can crash anytime. P3D is far more stable for me and anything extra will be nice but it serves me well at the moment for what I need-practicing my landings! Jay

OpusFSI Release Version 5.22.5 Available
jkeye replied to Opus Software's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
Hi I tried the Opus FSI demo (I own Opus FSX) in Prepar3d 2.4. The panning live camera controls(green arrows) don't move the eyepoint. The eyepoint moves when I enter different values in their boxes but this is cumbersome Is there something I am doing wrong? Cheers Jay -
New rig for Prepar3d, specs advice please?
jkeye replied to slip-stream's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
Hi I have the GTX 970 (Palit 4GB) and can recommend it highly Jay -
Hi there I don't have FSX installed and am currently clicking the UTservices.exe to start up.Is this FSUIPC fix only if you have FSX also? Cheers Jay
-
Had trouble with the clickspots on the MC initially.I reinstalled and ran in legacy mode.Although the sim crashed a few times,I can now run the aircraft normally without legacy mode.

APFL=April Fool? 0401=April Fool? Wasted my precious time mulling this so I guess it worked. Does not detract in any way from the near perfect addon the 777 already is. Seriously though I would like a real update for the NGX (time compression) Jay
-
Intelligent time compression means you can do a transatlantic flight in 2 hours with no fear of the plane falling out the sky as you would with manual time compression Jay Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2

Fsia Also Allows you to filter/search for runways bard on variables and choose detailed airports. I use both fsia and Lord of the landing together and they work well! Lola had the advantage of being able to reset the approach with a key combination during the approach of you want Jay Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2

DX10 Fixer released!
jkeye replied to Paul J's topic in The Official DX10 Scenery Fixer Support Forum
Very pleased overall. The cost is very reasonable considering it fixes what ACES promised with FSX but failed to deliver. To compare this product to an addon aircraft completely misses the point -
If the resized textures are the answer would PMDG please provide these for download or allow others to share ? I have the same issues but don't have the time or photo shop to do the work myself. Cheers Jay
-
Hi IFR Great collection you have there! Get FSCaptain and start getting your dispatches made for you. Also try out Steve's DX10 fixer-it transformed the sim for me. I do this now-am only flying the PMDG T7 as it's what I enjoy the most. If and when I tire or when SP2 for the NGX includes time compression,I don't see myself flying anything else Cheers Jay

Skeleton on view change
jkeye replied to Richard Sennett's topic in The Official DX10 Scenery Fixer Support Forum
Hi again I tried this again-and ran out of memory before I could load the flight. I think the trick for me is to load the aircraft at the opening screen, check it looks ok there and then load the default flight ASAP an THEN play around with moving location and flight planning. Seems to work fine for me without AA B) ..so far thankfully Jay -
Skeleton on view change
jkeye replied to Richard Sennett's topic in The Official DX10 Scenery Fixer Support Forum
Hi guys I had the skeleton view with the T7 throughout a flight yesterday.(I had loaded a flight from the flight planner at the startup screen) and 4XAA. Today I disabled AA from the main fixer program and loaded the aircraft direct at an airport (instead of a flight plan) via the main menu and there were no issues. I am using the DX10 preview and enjoy it too much to change now. Thought that might be helpful to some. Cheers Jay -
FS Captain Opus UT2- I've installed the DXI0 fixer and am running with ALL my slides maxed - UT2 included - the fixer is worth every penny Jay
