  1. Note how Robert wrote that he'd be giving a "bit of notice" under the "release day" header - none of this 12/24 hrs beforehand business that people are talking about. Give them time to get out of bed :D It's RSR's birthday after all... Ryan said Pete is still finishing up on some paints as well, so to me that sounds like they'll be releasing it after their lunchtime. But it definitely looks like it's going to be released today...
  2. Happy real birthday, Robert. I have a present for you if you release the NGX!
  3. To those thinking it will be released after the 4th, remember Robert said he'd let us know as soon as he knew there was a show-stopping issue. The remaining question is whether they are (currently) planning on releasing today or tomorrow. Tomorrow is the most likely choice, being RSR's bday and the most widely published date. Still, I can't help but think that PMDG would love to release it today in order to be able to say "We released it early!" after all the commentary about the year+ long delay :(.
  4. Hi Rónán, Sounds like one hell of a cockpit authority gradient set up there. It would appear that one of the most essential safety checks on those flights - open communication with the first officer - was probably compromised as a result. Thanks for sharing the story.
  5. Robert lives near Reno apparently, so PDT is probably the time to watch. He did mention that the release timing wasn't going to be a surprise, so I'd imagine there will be an update with a more specific release time in the coming days - provided PMDG are still intending to release on the 4th. Hopefully that will save us all some sleep.
  6. Welcome to the forum, vampisol! I think what the others were trying to say is no, PMDG have stated that they will not be making a weather radar for the NGX, as it has been deemed impossible to make a radar that does anything more than act as a pretty picture - flight sim simply doesn't model precipitation properly. Also, for future reference, the PMDG part of the forum has specific rules: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/240151-pmdg-forum-rules-read-before-posting/ (basically, they want you to sign your posts with your full name). The forum also has a search facility at the top right, although the results aren't always particularly useful. However, it is advisable to search for answers prior to creating a new post to avoid making some people tired of having to read the same questions. (This is his first post guys...)
  7. Sorry Bryan, I was not attempting to look for any hidden meanings behind your posts in the FS2Crew forum. You've said numerous times that you've been waiting for the SDK - as recently as 25th July - despite previously stating that you were in the same position as AoA with regards to being given a beta copy of the NGX. As you say, the NGX could very well come out with an SDK on release day. However, my own opinion commences with the interpretation that if the SDK hasn't previously been included in the beta, we're unlikely to see it suddenly pop up on release day, particularly when there is still work to be done on the other NGX variants. Of course this is just an opinion. I agree that really need to wait for PMDG to comment.
  8. We'll wait for an official reply but it seems unlikely for the following reasons: The developer of FS2Crew has implied that the SDK hasn't been included in any of the beta builds. The 737-600 and 700 are also due to be released in a few weeks, so PMDG will probably be busy working on those after dealing with a large influx in support requests following the base pack release (regardless of how good the NGX is when it is released). I'd therefore imagine it will still be some time before we see the SDK, or FS2Crew :( Happy to be corrected though.
  9. Exciting times :D Let's hope the beta testers conclude that she is now as close to perfection as possible. Thanks for keeping us updated PMDG.
  10. Have a look at Professional Flight Planner X (http://www.pfpx.com/), which looks to be coming out later this year. It's made by the developers of TOPCAT. You'll be able to calculate a complete flightplan including fuel requirements based on the realworld aircraft data, forecast GRIB winds, ETOPS, redispatch, NOTAMs, etc.
  11. Yeeehaw! I am beside myself :( Thanks Robert.
  12. Incredible :( Thankyou PMDG for creating this amazing addon for all of us, and thankyou Nick for the stunning videos. Can't wait until the big day! It'll be good to get my life back soon - refreshing this forum for updates is now taking up way too much of my time! Sad, but true.
  13. Can't wait. Thanks for the update Robert. It sounds like Dr Vaos has done an excellent job on the maths of VNAV/LNAV.Here's hoping next Monday will be a good day for all of us who are one hissy fit away from going insane with anticipation :(
  14. I wondered the same thing :) This was Bryan's response:
  15. Excellent, thanks. I'm really looking forward to purchasing fs2crew to maximize the realism of what looks to be a superb aircraft.
  16. Hi Bryan,As a first time customer, I am very interested in your upcoming version of FS2Crew for the PMDG 737NGX.Yesterday, Angle of Attack announced that they will be receiving the PMDG NGX in the next day or two, allowing them to produce their training videos ahead of the release of the aircraft. Are you also being given similar access in order to develop FS2Crew prior to the NGX's release?Kind Regards,
  17. This is experience ruining! Please rectify.Sorry Ryan I couldn't resist... :(
  18. Thanks for the heads up on the deal.Purchased AUS and YMML :( Looking forward to downloading them when I get more download quota in 2 weeks!
  19. One of the PMDG guys commented on Facebook and confirmed there would be a 600 and 700 too :)
  20. Thanks, Vin. I really appreciated your post. We're impatient but we'll no doubt get over it when/if you have time to feed us an update or release the bird.
  21. Is this going to be out for the 737NGX from release like it was for the Ifly?Really keen to try it out.
  22. Thanks very much Captains George, Ryan and Robert!!! Excellent thread.PMDG was my first too :) With their 737. Oh the memories of my first time...The 737ngx is like the second coming.Sorry couldn't resist. :(
  23. I thought the same thing about the logo on the Qantas livery preview. The size of the word 'QANTAS' (easier to see on the additional pictures on facebook vs the oblique shot on this forum) isn't quite right if you compare it to pictures, but I'm quite happy to live with it.
  24. My post was with relation to when the tech team beta was first announced and not the present state of the aircraft, which sounds like it's now ready for actual 'beta' testing. Sounds and other features were indeed missing from those YouTube videos, as was confirmed by PMDG.
  25. I was under the impression that the tech team was actually part of alpha testing based on the following post from Ryan, along with suggestions made by George prior to the 'beta' announcement: Just quietly, I think the confusion came about because PMDG actually chose to give the 'beta' label to the tech team alpha testing phase so as to appease the angry mob :D It is apparent that the aircraft has just approached being functionally complete in the last few days (recent comments about work in progress, sounds yet to be created and what not), so technically we're only about to hit beta testing now.In any case I'm thrilled that it sounds like we'll be getting an update very soon. Beta testing screenshots should then tide us all over until release.
