  1. I reckon the problem was BitDefender not the CS707..... :-)
  2. Kurt,Any move away from Norton is going to benefit you tremendously. Most will agree here. ...and if no-one else says it, I will - take this opportunity to do a complete reinstall of everything. You won't regret it. Forget messing around with removal tools. Just bin it all.
  3. Dollar Sixty Five a litre here in Sydney. An absolute joke but the UK takes the cake. I think the first person to buy Tower Sim better keep it quiet :-)
  4. The AIRAC does not contain STARS.You need to find and download them too. They are small files like RPLL.txtIt may be different for the wilco but that's how I understand it.
  5. Carl,By default the Afcad layer is always the lowest, therefore anything you create eg photoground polygon etc will cover up the afcad stuff so therefore you lose all your nice afcad generated lighting which is a pain. I have encountered this with my scenery and had to make all the lights in Gmax - took weeks. The ground was done using the old FS2002 layered ground poly method described over on fsdeveloper.com. I don't think you can cut or mask the afcad layer with alpha blending so it shows up. I have been wanting to know how the likes of flytampa (Boston for example) do it. They use Gmax ground polygons, tweaked and alpha'd up at the edges to blend away to the surrounding scenery and ocean. But I wonder how they make their lights. They do a "splash" polygons to simulate the light spill on the ground and halo around the bulb, the actual light polygon must come from Gmax though. Same with their shadows, look carefully under the baggage trolleys, little Gmax poly shadows - very clever kids at Fly tampa. Sorry I am rambling now.
  6. Ditto here. When it was first released I remember I had all that pitch problem stuff too. After the PSS patches/updates it flies fantastic. These patches came a long a fair while back.
  7. Sure, you can get some aircraft that have some callouts and speech hard coded into their gauge files like CS and DF272 - which may be what you want and there's nothing wrong with these products. But for unsurpassed reality FS2Crew can't beaten. I don't fly anything other than LDS767, PMDG747 or WilcoA320 purely because they can run FS2Crew. Anything without FS2Crew is too quiet for me. There's nothing quite like hearing "Landing Checklist Complete".I also believe there was another product called Flight Deck Companion? or something like that? Might be worth looking into.
  8. Ah yes, now this happened to me once. I think I ended up reinstalling XP. Probably not what you want to hear... Common problem though, try googling it and you'll find heaps of others have this happen.
  9. The only reason I have never bought FSPass is all this point scoring and rating and running it like an arcade game. The actual enhancements like cabin and ground audio as well as realistic company related items interest me alot, esp combining with my fs2crew. But I just don't go for point scoring and pax rating my landings etc.
  10. The FSC2Crew on the Wilco 320 is actually the best one yet. When you get a flight and none of the "Wilcobugs"TM kick in it can be a very good experience! I've had a few nice landings and rolled out and thought - that was cool.
  11. Wilco are decent enough if you setup and fuel the plane correctly. There's a few rogue bugs that seem to pop up and hand flying feels a bit different if you're used to Boeings. The FBW is modelled very well which catches out some new Airbus drivers. Also be aware the only option for VC/TrackIR users is the Wilco.
  12. 109 Gb haha I just LOL'ed when I saw that. Great work. I may not agree with your approach but I sure do love your dedication! You must be very proud of it.
  13. Good job. Now take it to the next level and realise how much stuff you actually DON'T need. You'll get your install down to 10% of the size you thought you couldn't live without - then you'll really see it fly !
  14. Once you have all your weights programmed into the FMC it will report to you a Stab Trim for takeoff that you enter the standard way Num7/1 or PGUp/PGdn. It's usually around the 6.0 units mark.
  15. Have you installed all the updates? There were 3 or 4 from memory.
  16. Is that what those pumps do? Wow. Neat.
  17. There was a glitch in the early versions which I am not sure was fixed in an update. Nevertheless the solution was to turn off Crashes. Frankly, nobody runs FS with Crashes ON these days anyway.
  18. I've had the PSS 777 for a long while now and it's great. You don't need to merge it with anything. It's VC is magic and it flies great - all that matters.Sure it has a few small issues but these don't detract from the experience. Make sure you get a killer free soundset from the library.
  19. Reinstalling ain't that bad. I once had a 2 year old install - afraid to touch it. Now I reinstall every 3 months max. Takes half a day. You realise how much stuff you actually DON'T need. Less is the new more! :-)
  20. Thank you very much for the update! I want to name my first son PMDG.
  21. You should still be roughly tracking the IGS beam as per a normal approach, until you disconnect and turn. Regardless of where you disconnect, the IGS beam should be in line with the lighting - in between the two reds. The afcad with the scenery is spot on for me. The navdata shouldn't make a difference. PM Clutch Cargo on here and he can help, if he doesn't spot this topic and dive in first. He made the 9D.
  22. Have you got the latest 9D afcad in there? This would determine the line of the IGS.
  23. oh man the daddy of them all is finally being re-made. Sure there's bigger airports around, but they ain't no JFK !
  24. TripleHead2Go and TrackIR were made for each other. You really need both. Forget 2D all together. 2D is so ancient now.
  25. Look I like them both (LDS and PMDG) and bought them a) before PMDG converted to Euro billing and :( in 2005, well before the US Dollar went south. For true romantic long haul - PMDG all the way IMHO.
