FS9 Display Problems
I had this problem a few years ago. It turned out to be a dodgy chip on the card. Only way of fixing it was to buy a new gfx card.Aaron

What is a good Geneva airport scenery?
I have that scenery for Geneva, and I have to say it is very accurate, and good on the frames. So far it's the best one out there.

SP1 Feedback Thread
to uninstall SP1 go to add/remove prgrams and check the Show Updates box. SP1 will appear right below MS FSX.

SP1 Feedback Thread
I'm running a very modest computer by everyone elses standards, AMD Sempron 3100+, 1GB RAM, Radeon X800T, Seagate RAID0. Before SP1 I was getting 15 fps with everything on low settings. Now, all maxed except autogen on medium, and I'm getting a steady locked 20FPS. I'm very pleased with this patch!

Problem with FS9 menus...
You're running Window Blinds aren't you? If you are you need to unload it before running FS9.Aaron

window vista
Control Panel > User accounts and family safety > User accounts then down the bottom of the page you should see Turn UAC on or off. you need Admin priviledges though. I havn't turned mine off, I've just set it to automatically elevate me to admin whenever it needs it. you can do that in the local security policies. type secpol.msc into the start menu and enter. then local policies > security options scroll down and find "user account control: behavior of the approval prompt in admin approval mode" double click on it and change it to elevate without prompting.Aaron

LSGG SIDs
Has anyone who is familiar with LSGG noticed that the DJL departures no longer exist? From what I can gather there is a new departure TUTAX, but I can't find any reference to anything anyhwere. If anyone knows anyting about this I would love to know :)Cheers,Aaron

DreamFactory Studio Airport Geneva
So I finally got around to getting this scenery, and all I can say is wow! Finally scenery for Geneva Cointrin that actually looks like the real thing. I have zero framerate hit, and a beautiful airport to boot. Only problem I have found so far is that the airport scenery overrides the geneva city scenery, but there is a work around posted ont heir forums. I just havn't got around to that yet. Anyway, I highly recommend this addon for anyone who like me, loves to fly in and out of LSGG!

Ariane 737-800 order
ave you tried disabling the XP firewall? That has happened to me before, not with Ariane, but with other software. XPs firewall was blocking it without asking me anything. Disabling it let me connect. If you've tried that, try booting in safemode with networking and try that way. That is only if Ariane has online activation, I don't know much about them, having never used them. Let me know if that helps.Aaron

anyone know if EURoute is compatible with FSX?
The module works as a standalone as well. I use it before I even fire up the simulator. You just have to write down your route.

Yakutat mission ( no spoilers)
I've got to say that this one actually had me sweating and swearing! I landed right next to the bear about half way down the runway, with a yell of "ARGH! bloody bear!"

FSAutoStart
Ahh ok. Cheers anyway. It's all moot now anyway as I just did a complete OS reinstall. Thought I'd give Vista a whirl for a few weeks.

FSAutoStart
I have the exact same problem as you Daryll, how did you get rid of all the error messages? I can't seem to work it out, and I don't want to have to start a profile from scratch!Aaron

What spots do you fly in FSX?
I've been flying out of Interlaken up in the Alps, and just cruising around in the baron. The scenery up that way is perfect. I'm inimately familiar with Geneva airport (I used to live there), and pretty much the entirety of switzerland is a great place to fly VFR. I crashed earlier trying to land at Sion when my wing clipped a rocky outcrop while I was turning back to the runway.

Will FSX Demo uninstall mess up FS2004?
I had a problem, when I uninstalled the demo it hosed the registry entry for fs9. I just used the registry fix from flight1 and it all came back in a matter of seconds.Aaron

Microsoft shame!!!
I wish people would stop banging on about fps. FSX at 15 fps is so much smoother than fs9 at 20fps. It's not frames per second tat matter people, it's how smoother the sim is. I don't post often in this forum because most people don't have anything constructive to say, but when i do it's because i either have a problem I can't fix myself, or because I'm sick and tired of people moaning about how fs doesn't perform for them. I have an AMD 3100+ sempron processor, ABIT NV8 mobo, 1 gb of ram, ATI x800gt vid car, and I run at an average of 20 fps in fsx. With itlocked at 15 I get constant smooth performance with high autogen, high scenery complexity, large terrain detail, water at 1x low (not bothered about water to be quite honest), AND i have not problem at all with the sim. I suggest that most people with probelms are actually having problems with their computer rather than FS. Just my 2 cents.Aaron

Compressing the FS9 Directory for speed
I've had both installs at some point or another, compressed and uncompressed. I can't say that I noticed any difference at all between the two.Aaron

Dream Factory Airport Geneva
I havn't got it, but practically all my flights start and end at Geneva, so I am very tempted by this one. I might have to go and get it. Pity there aren't more screenshots of it though...Aaron Just saw there are actually a lot of screenies on the simmarket site, and I think I will get it, just to see.

FSX sound problem
Yeah, I 've tried everything, and it all seems to be in working order. I'm completely stumped. Like I said, it worked fine the first time I ran it, just never again.Aaron

FSX sound problem
I just got my copy of FSX deluxe today, and I installed it, and it ran fine the first time I loaded it, frames at around 20 at LSGG (15 at heathrow), but now everytime I run it, the ATC voices and mission voices are going so slowly! it's like a walkman running out of batteries! I've tried reinstalling, deleting the .cfg, but no luck so far, hopefully one of you knowlegeable folks can help!
