Possible to permanently turn OFF the default FSX ATIS?
jwenham replied to WebMaximus's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
Hi WebMaximus! In your sound settings tab, Un-check voice and in the General settings tab, un-check all the ATC options. This will shut down FSX ATC and are the settings I use when on-line or when using Radar Contact.Jim -
The scenery density level controls the amount of building that show. The lower the setting the fewer the buildings you will see. Most run that slider at max. The autogen slider contols houses and trees. Hope this helps you.Jim

Do you have any add-on scenery installed? If so, it could be a scenery layering problem. What scenery add ons are you using and what order are they showing in you scenery options in FSX?Jim

English please !!!! I have no idea what you are asking.

Cool Aid anyone?

The cat's not only out of the bag, its attacking its owner!
jwenham replied to Mike T's topic in Microsoft FLIGHT Archive
I partially agree with you but just because it has a pretty box doesnt mean there is a fine watch inside. WHat I mean is that most of us here I think would rather have realistic instruments in the cockpit, better ATC, more aircraft in the ranks of what PMDG can do, ect. MS will NEVER EVER EVER NEVER turn out a aircraft that can even in the slightest bit compare to the NGX. The graphics is only a part of what simmers want in a flight sim. Just my opinion. -

I say forget about MS making a flight sim. Look how long FS 2004 has lasted and to this day still very popular. FSX IMO even with all its bugs and such is just getting started. The reason I say this is look at the PMDG 737ngx, GEX, UTX, and all the great sceneries we are all enjoying like, FlyTampa, FSDT, and all the great FREEware. Forget about MS as they will most likely NEVER make a sim like we all desire. We should look to alternative developers and back them and encourage them to build a sim like what all of us enthusiasts desire. If PMDG ever offered to take on such a task I would gladly send them money to help out. If all the AVSIM members thru in a few bucks each and a developer like PMDG or the like would commit to such an undertaking we could throw them a couple million dollars to get it rolling not to mention the statement we would all be making to MS. I know my idea may be a bit far fetched but......Jim -
Same here. The driver works extreemly well, nice and smooth, but the limiter does nothing... nada...zippo. Maybe it is because we both are rinning XP? Anyways, one thing you can do to help especially when running unlimited FPS is to set your PRE-RENDER vale to 1. The default value is 3 but I find 1 works best.
-
I am seeing the same. When I check the FPS in FSX it is not locking @ 30 as I have it set in the Inspector but..... it is very smoothe.Jim
-
Nope.
-
When setting framerate you are shooting for smoothness NOT FPS. Most find 30 to work best if they are locking the frames. I run unlimited unless I am using a lite demanding aircraft/scenery.Jim

A little help please... (blurries and more)

Hi Adam and seasons greetings to you as well! What setting are you using for filtering in FSX and what method are you using for your graphics card settings (Inspector or nHancer or the Nvidia control panel?Jim -
I am using this and love it!http://www.hanse-coders.net/index.php?page=self&id=1Jim

Southwest Airlines 737-700 landing KMDW
jwenham replied to HighFlyer310's topic in Aviation and Flight Sim Video Forum
Nice job Tom! I love flying into KMDW in the 737.Jim -
I am not shocked at all. ImagineSim never has and probably never will give a rats @$$ about support which is why I am not buying anymore from them not to mention when you look at a FSDT/FlyTampa product its just not worth the money IMO.

+1 . Schiphol is one of my testing spots as well. Jim

That sounds like a long time for traffic to load. What are you using for traffic and what are your settings for it? I run 70% UT2 with no GA traffic, no cars and no airport vehicles and it loads in a matter of seconds. Jim

Turning off the autobrakes after landing
jwenham replied to WebMaximus's topic in PMDG 737NGX | 737NGXu
When I hit the normal brakes (trigger on my Saitek X52) the autobrake turns off just fine. Jim -
Do PMDG recommend using weather programs?
jwenham replied to joolsd's topic in PMDG 737NGX | 737NGXu
Here is what I am using for weather. I run it with FEX and it works very nice and it is FREE for now at least. http://www.rs-transline.de/index.php?page=self&id=2 Jim -
It needs to be in the GRAPHICS section. [GRAPHICS]HIGHMEMFIX=1 - Jim

Arhur, I asked the same question recently. Here is a link to that post. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/347779-desent-path-question/page__fromsearch__1 Jim

Thanks for all the replies guys! I did get it and have had it now for 3 weeks and LOVE it! My performance is as good if not a bit better than LVD 767 so I am happy with that. The only issue I have had is that for some reason un-known to me I can no longer use the ENB Mod. I loose my AA when using ENB with the 737 NGX. I looked at the ENB site and they say that is a indication of not enough video memory. My card has 896 mb of ram and I guess that is not enough. @ Chock (Alan) - What exactly did you change your vc texture settings to? Maybe your settings may help me to be able to run ENB Mod again? Jim
