  1. Me three.... Hoping for some news on how to fix this as I love the products when they work. Thanks! Todd Legon
  2. Erwan, In my experience that occurs when there is a disruption in electrical power (in my case caused by user error!). Sometimes I have hit the apu power switches to disconnect them after start up when they have been already automatically disconnected. When that occurs and/or after I re-disconnect them I get that EICAS warning. I have also found that if I shut down the APU after start up before putting the packs back to normal I sometimes get that message as well. If I put the packs on first I don't get it. Regardless, the plane will still actually auto land even with the warning as I understand it (although I have never tried) but I guess you are not supposed too!! I am sure someone with greater knowledge than me can explain this better but I hope this helps. Regards, Todd Legon
  3. It's because you are running on three screens. PMDG has made modified panel configs to address this. I received mine by submitting a support ticket describing the issue years ago so I suggest trying that. Good luck! Regards, Todd Legon
  4. I have the same problem but I don't think it's the OC. Just read that Amazon is having some problems effecting the internet. I suspect this isn't a coincidence. Regards, Todd Legon
  5. Same problem here. Never had it before and TLS 1.2 is enabled on my machine. Regards, Todd Legon
  6. I'm not sure if this is your issue but try clicking on the gross weight entry if there is an arrow next to it on the PERF INIT page. 1LSK I hope this helps. Regards, Todd Legon
  7. All, Same problem here. Not a big deal given that if I need to save a settings change I can load another aircraft and close normally but I thought I would just confirm that my set up has the same issue. Thanks! Todd Legon
  8. Michael, Thanks for this! Are triple monitor configs available for the 777 as well? Thanks, Todd Legon
  9. Outstanding!! Regards, Todd Legon
  10. Steven, Great list but don't forget about Cathay Pacific delivery colors (the Don Grange special for those who have the ITVV DVD)! I always thought the -400 looked great in that livery and the original Northwest livery as well. Hopefully someone will paint an Air Bridge Cargo -F as well. Really looking forward to this release! And Kyle, thanks very much for the heads up on the automatic fuel configuration in another post. All us long haulers will appreciate it! Regards, Todd Legon
  11. All, Check this site out. Haven't checked the new installer but if it works may resolve the VHHX issues and spare Kyle some extra work. http://vapap.com/kai-tak-airport Regards, Todd Legon
  12. Jeff, PMDG actually had some modified panel config files for the 737, MD-11 and 747 which resolved these issues. If I recall correctly I got them by filing a support ticket. Solved the sizing issue for me when running on three screens. I hope this helps. Regards, Todd Legon
  13. Ray, Thanks. I will give it a try! Regards, Todd L.
  14. Ray, I have disabled GWX per the original post. Do you think it is necessary to uninstall the KBs even if the GWX entries are disabled? Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Thanks! Todd L.
  15. I had this problem and opens a support ticket and PMDG was kind enough to send me new panel configs for my triple screen set up that eliminated this problem. I suspect they would be happy to do it again. Good luck! Todd
  16. This is an interesting thread and timely for me. I just had to replace my MOBO so I have a clean install of FSX. I decided only to install the PMDG 777 and 737 and not install FTX Global or Vector or any of my many airport add-ons. I have a very robust machine but like others I previously had VAS problems on occasion depending upon aircraft, scenery and weather combinations. Now all I have installed is FSX. PMDG, ASN and REX Texture Direct ( with clouds etc set to their lowest settings) and it is nice to just hop into the 777 and have great frame rates and fly 14 plus hours without even having to worry about a VAS problem. With that said I do miss my add on airports as they added a level of realism I enjoy but I don't miss the hassle and uncertainty of flights with it. Default FSX sure ain't as pretty without the scenery but for me lately it's all about the flying. Also, as an aside, the actual Level-D sims I have flown in don't have airport scenery as realistic as some of my add-ons so I placate myself by saying my visuals are at least consistent with I have experienced in that regard. With that said the type of flying I tend to do (long haul at 30K plus feet) lends itself to such a set up. If I were to stick to legs of 5 hours and under I think I would feel differently as in the past flights of that duration seldom posed a problem for me even with all my add-ons. To each his own! Finally, this is not a knock on scenery developers who have made and will continue to make outstanding contributions to our hobby. I will continue to support them and I hope we all do the same. I am sure as time progresses I will be tempted to install my airports again and buy some new ones. After all, it is just a couple of clicks in the Scenery Configurator if you don't want to use them.... Regards, Todd L
  17. That is what I have done in the past with the exception that I only do it for the offending window that causes the cursor to spin. Never did it for all of them. With that said I am constantly resizing pop ups such as CDU's, HSI's and ND's when I first load a panel. If I change all the widows as you suggest will that still be required? Any thoughts much appreciated. Thanks!
  18. I run it on 3 monitors and if you cycle through all the panel views you will get a spinning cursor and reduced frame rates (at least I do running Nvidia surround). Only one window causes it and if you avoid that window you won't have the problem. I posted on their forums and they said they would look into it but no response yet. My computer is being repaired but when it comes back I will experiment to see if I can fix it which I have done before with other aircraft. If I do I will post the fix. Regards, Todd
  19. Randy, Thanks for sharing this as I am having these issues with my new build system. When you install the new panel configs do I need to edit/replace anything or do I simply drop them in the 737-800 panel config folder? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
  20. What is the best way to save a flight and restart it so that the FMC, fuel etc. remains the same? Thanks in advance for your thoughts!
  21. Thanks Bob. Very helpful advice! I will keep this in mind as I continue my research. Regards, Todd
  22. All, My existing machine is about 5 years old right now and given the PMDG 777, ASN etc. I have decided to buy a new one. I'm not qualified to build one (my old machine is a Dell XPS 730x) so I am looking at Alienware as a replacement. I am looking at the Alienware Aurora series with an i7-4960x running at 4.3 Ghz with a 15 Cache. The GPU I am considering is a GTX-780 with 3GB memory. They don't have an option for the GTX 780ti. I would greatly appreciate any thoughts on whether this set up is worthwhile or if I should consider something else. My practice is to buy the highest end components I can find about every 5 years and I seem to be getting the most longevity that way even though I recognize it comes at a price. Indeed my XPS runs great and for the most part smooth but recent advances in add-ons is starting to slow me down. I recognize that this a broad question but I would greatly value the thoughts of those who are more knowledgable about these newer components than I am as well as other builds/companies I should consider. Thank you in advance for your consideration and Happy Holidays to all!
  23. Looks great Jonas! Any chance you would consider the Scandinavian livery that followed this one from the 70s? That livery looked great on Scandinavian's A-300s as shown in the link. http://www.airliners.net/photo/Scandinavian-Airlines--/Airbus-A300B4-120/1877697/M/ Thanks for the great work! Regards, Todd
  24. Steve, Sad news indeed. I was looking forward to some retro liveries from you for the 777 but certainly respect your decision. With that said I for one am grateful for the great and extensive work you did on the 737 NGX. It has been much appreciated by me. Thanks for all the great work!!
