  1. Great pics Brandon! I've really got to get TrackIR just to get that view of the winglets! Anthony Hammond

Yeah, I use the X52 as well. Had it quite a few years now and should really change it, will likely opt for the Saitek Yoke. Anthony Hammond
  3. Hi all, I remember in one of Nick's preview videos, he demonstrated a great feature on the NGX that provided a blue guiding line around the N1 indicator when the auto throttle was engaged to represent the physical position of your throttle hardware. A few times when disengaging AP/AT on short final I've had to make a VERY quick adjustment to the throttle as it was out of position. This feature doesn't appear to be enabled as default, but if anyone could point me in the direction to make the change that would be great. Kind Regards, Anthony Hammond.
  4. Thanks for the advice, you're right and I've solved the problem. I unplugged by Saitek X52 completely and just tried engaging reverse with the F2 key, and what happens....perfectly stable and smoothly spooling reverse thrust. So I plug the X52 back in and go in Windows 7 joystick calibration and see that on the throttle axis, there appeared to be a dead zone on the idle detent of about 10%, looks like some sort of hardware issue. So i've removed the dead zone from the axis and the result... proper reverse thrust!
  5. I've just tried setting it to half repeat (throttles are at idle) but it seems to make the problem worse, on the NGX (and on any other aircraft), it changes to 'REV' on the engine display but the n1 stays at around 25-30% and still doesn't want to spool up.
  6. Hi everyone, I've always had this problem on FSX and I'm finally actively going to try to get it sorted out. I'm using a Saitek X52 Flight Control System and I've bound reverse thrust to the button on the top of throttle, I've done it through FSX control settings and have the button set to full-repeat. However, when I land and engage reverse and hold down the bound button, it starts reverse, snaps back, and starts again. I've seen videos of people where it engages and the N1 spools smoothly like it should when reverse in engaged and I was wandering if there is any trick in achieving this? Recently got the NGX so want the experience to be as immersive as possible :) Many Thanks.
  7. Really insightful and interesting video Jack, thank you for uploading these! Anthony Hammond
  8. Does anyone know according to the SOP what is the correct height for AP disengage on landing? Anthony Hammond
  9. I was listening to Chris on the FSBreak podcast and all of the videos will be downloadable, in full HD :) Anthony Hammond
  10. Definitely would be good to have some clarification if this is normal, although it isn't on Ryan's issue list. Anthony Hammond
  11. Same for me, all I've done so far is run the tutorial flight 3 times but every time I've selected VOR/LOC it very suddenly banks to intercept. Anthony Hammond
  12. Hi, Ryan states shared cockpit will be available as an update if you read towards the end of tutorial 1 that comes with the 737NGX. Anthony Hammond
  13. Thanks for the video Jack, I was one of the posters who had been struggling with deceleration towards the approach phase so I'll definitely take on board what I've seen from your video. Many Thanks, Anthony Hammond
  14. Thanks for your suggestions folks, I agree its definitely something I'm doing and there is quite a workload at that stage of the flight. I know the landing gear has come down way too late and that does have a big drag effect, I'm going to give the tutorial another shot now and I'll let you know how I get on! Many Thanks, Anthony Hammond
  15. Hi all, First of all, thank you to PMDG for a wonderful and immersive product, it's been great so far although I have a couple of questions regarding tutorial 1 as I've yet to complete it smoothly. The biggest problem for me so far is trying to get down to the VREF+5 speed, even with the speed brakes deployed I seem to be landing way too fast. The problems seem to start early on in the STAR when I receive a "DES PATH UNACHIEVABLE" in the CDU, somewhere around NIRSI for those of you familiar with the tutorial. The aircraft intercepts the localizer and glideslope correctly, however, where the FMA states the ILS frequency and course in the top left corner, the course is in yellow with a line through it. I've made sure that the course frequency is the 184 degrees that matches the FMC. By the end of the approach I'm focusing so much on getting the speed down I don't even have time to look at the HGS! Any help would be much appreciated, Many Thanks, Anthony Hammond
  16. Yeah, same problem for me as well (from UK), I'm sure the issue will be resolved soon. In the meantime, off to the pub! Anthony Hammond
  17. Fantastic news, I'm not a huge poster on these forums but I'm an avid reader and would like to express my thanks to the team for all their hard work. I also believe that the price point is extremely reasonable and until there is a proper feedback channel, I would express my interest in the BBJ variants. Anthony Hammond
  18. The sounds on the NGX appear absolutely spot on! So immersive just watching the videos alone. Thank you for sharing them with us!Anthony Hammond
  19. These are a brilliant set of videos which are a great refresher or if you are new to flight simulator, highly recommended. Anthony.
  20. Really impressed with the website, literally just bought the J41 and I'll have to read up again on the 747 for this expansion!
  21. Hi all, I've had FS2Crew for the MD-11 a while now, I enjoy the extra structure it provides to a flight, however I've encountered some issues which occur quite frequently. 1. Sometimes the FO will miss part of his flow, i.e. IRS not aligned at all, but it varies. 2. Pushback sometimes fails. 3. On the after start process, the FO never sets the correct pitch trim which was preset in the FMC. Kind Regards, Anthony.
  22. Would just like to say thanks for the contributions made in this thread so far, its about time this addon was reviewed from an impartial standpoint, if you don't mind me asking, is it a matter of days or weeks the review will be posted? I'm very much considering this addon as I would like a good medium range airliner for fsx. Also, the FliTunes feature, is that some sort of feature that allows you to play music whilst using the addon (i.e. in cruise). I believe the flight1 mustang has a similar feature.
  23. Thanks for replying to the PM al, much appreciated. Really highly anticipated it seems and can't wait to have a thorough read through it when its published! Anthony H.
  24. Alan, many thanks for taking the time to review the Ariane 737NG, during the thread alone you have provided an excellent non-biased insight into the aircraft. I'm not sure if I feel reassured or concerned about the VNAV after your comments, if it is properly simulated, then great, but if there is no guidance on how to use it fully then that is a cause for concern, and I dont have one of those 737NG technical book on me! Anthony H.
  25. This is a good point, especially because when I fly many of the aircraft using "fully functional" FMC 's on FSX I don't use ATC at all, I would find it difficult to keep altering the FMC based on new ATC commands. I know the rules on this vary from aircraft to aircraft such as changing from VNAV to LVL CHANGE below 10000ft.
