AES problems and configs!
I thought that AES has to add airports independently of FS2004 (i.e., it's not running). Isn't it that you do run both when you're configuring the various elements (jetways, fuel trucks, etc.) for a new aircraft? Also, you do have sufficient "points" to add a new airport? John

AES problems and configs!
hi, do you have the earlier version installed? I might be wrong about this, but 2.41 is an upgrade, not a completely-new version. I recently did a complete install of FS9 with a later installation of AES 2.41, which didn't work. I then removed 2.41, installed the ealier version, and then installed 2.41. Everything seems to work fine now. John

737-400 fuel consumption
I have had similar problems with the POSKY 744. When creating a flight, I go through each step (i.e., selecting an altitude and seeing what the "fuel calculator" indicates what is required. BTW, I always add more fuel (say an additional 10%). I take off and then fly 70-80% of the flight distance and then the low fuel light on my panel starts blinking. Checking the "range remaining" is less than what remains of the flight. While I dont like doing it, I do an "inflight refueling" to ensure that I can complete the flight ... I don't have this problem with other POSKY, SSP, and/or TDS aircraft, only the 744.

Contrails
If memory serves, after installing a new low-cost video card with 1 GB of RAM, I got a dramatic improvement in how the contrails appeared. Also, adjusting the various "sliders" in the display settings made a difference (I used to have 2-D contrails).

TDS B737 MAX 8: Is it just me?
Are you using a different panel? There is a distinction between the TDS 737 "plain" and TDS 737 MAX. MAX uses a physically larger (i.e., circumference) engine, and an XML file in a panel sub-folder handles this. (I discovered this the hard way ...) good luck!

TDS Boeing 738 Max
The TDS gurus say that you need to use some trim. My experience with the POSKY planes (wth exception of 777-300ers) was that they took off pretty easily, i.e., without trim

What FS9 Airport YOU really want developed?
Dubai (OMDB). Because of a leveling error (my phrase) in "dubai2004," the landing gear sinks. Taxiing to a gate leads to a spectacular bounce by the aircraft.

Loss of Textures
It appears that AA 4.2 has solved the problem ...

Loss of Textures
Out of curiosity I went to the WOAI forum and found this , which supports what you wrote, Paul.

Loss of Textures
Hi Everybody. Thanks for the input. 1. The pointer to the FPS discussion and the "Alpha Searcher" software have been helpful. It will also require a lot of work ! 2. Removing the WOAI AA package seems to have eliminated the "greying" of the textures. I am curious, though, about how to fix AA 777-300 texture (mentioned above); prior to removing, I did see one big two-engine "grey" A/C at KORD. An AA plane? My experience with this problem is an incorrect line in aircraft.cfg. John

Loss of Textures
Hi, Yes,I have installed in the past two or so weeks: AA, Delta, American, Allegiant, United, US Air from WOAI. Are there issues with any of these? I've added some of the new SSP 773s or TDS 737s or 787s, but have deleted most of those. I have established a number of "aliases" for various sound files for the same sort of A/C to cut down on overall volume, but the same problem persists. One thing I will do tomorrow (its evening in KPHL) is used some compressed air to blow out my PC. Maybe the video card is overheating? Thanks. John

Loss of Textures
Hi Alcan, The total (everything) for my FS9 folder is 24.6 GB--I've added a lot of A/C recently ... John

Loss of Textures
Hi, In recent days, I've had occasions where I lose the textures of my aircraft, AI aircraft, and scenery. Trying to quit the flight causes FS2004 to crash. I'm not sure what I might have done. System: Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 Processor 2.2 GHz / 8GB RAM / 320GB HDD / EVGA NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT w/ 1GB RAM / AUDIGY Sound Card. Thanks. John

any new airliner add-on coming for FS9?
The SkySpirit fellows are working on a 787 (with good batteries ) While I used the Camsim 787s for a time, they struck me as being "perfect," never any problems ...

Can someone recommend a good 737 panel?
I've used "the Ultimate Boeing Panel" (version 3.0) with my Boeing twin-engine A/C (737/757/767/777-both POSKY and SSP) There are a couple of later versions, but they do not work with Windows 7. It's a nice all-inclusive panel. John

Freeware weather addon?
Hi, Can someone explain to me how to use "FSrealWX"? I'm looking for a sequence, e.g., 1) start FS2004; ; 2) start FSrealWX: (or vice-versa) Or do I simply start FSrealWX and let it run in the background? Thanks. John

Where can I find the Skyspirit 767-200 base model?
There is an update page for SSP 757, 767, and 777 aircraft at: http://ssp.cyber-ninja.jp/ John

EditVoicePack Problem - Incorrect Callsign
Having at the time been anxious about even installing EVP (with its requirement to install MS Net framework 1.1 within Win 7 / 64 Enterpise)), I did not do a backup. So I deleted the databse file and reinstalled EVP. New install works fine now. Thank you for the suggestions! John

EditVoicePack Problem - Incorrect Callsign
A novice error--somehow I have accidentally modified the callsign for Qatar Airlines: rather than simply stating "Qatari," the pilot now states "Qatari scattered". I've looked through the guides which come with EVP, went to their website for other information. I could find nothing I'm thinking that there is a code line somewhere in which the "scattered" has been added. How do I change it back? Thanks John

Animated airport vehicles and jetways for AI traffic - possible?
I've seen stuff for my aircraft, but not for AI. Some airports have there own AI service vehicles, commuter trains, etc. running all the time. What you are suggesting would be like the POSKY 747s and later 737s, which have stairs, service vehicles, etc. as part of the package. I'm no designer but am thinking that these "accessories" would be additional bagage (if you'll pardon the pun) each AI plane would have to carry.

Where to put the addons?
Hi Nic, Yes, aircraft would go in to /FS2004/Aircraft; additional scenery would go into /FS2004/Addon Scenery (often directions will indicate other places within FS 2004 for specific files). Don't allow installers to run automatically; make the destination something like C:/temp and manually install items from there. Depending on your old O/S (e.g., Windows XP), some things may not function at all in Win 7. I have found this to be the case with some panel plugins. John

SkySpirit 767 problems
Hi Andy, The SSP aircraft are pesky to work with, particularly if you're using a third-party panel. The included readme file directs one to insert two separate [windowNN] sections and a couple of other sections at the end of pangel.cfg. Have you tried that? Did you copy the included effects files to the main EFFECTS folder? It might be that the SSP 763 is calling for a file different from that for the POSKY 763. It took me a good while to get the "ultimateboeingpanel" to work with the SSP 763s; now I just cut-and-paste the panel folder from one to another. Good luck. John

FDSFX Problems
Hi, I remember having a similar problem. If memory serves, there was a spelling error in either 1) the command line in panel cfg, or 2) the name of the actual sound file. It was just a couple of letters. John
