  1. Thanks Fabo, I have the Austrian, Tunisair I will look for the others. The Luthansa is a nice livery and so is the BMI Baby.
  2. Thanks for posting the video it saved me searching for it., it resembled some of my approaches. I am now looking at my airports in Spain and looking to use Active Sky 2012 to see what I get. MarkW you are entitled to your opinion, I disagree I just can't get excited about it.
  3. Rich, Downloaded no problems. I wanted the Luxair livery as I recently added Aerosofts Luxemburg. I seem to be taking a massive hit on frame rates. I have more time this weekend and see if there is a change with the different liveries. I was like a kid in a sweet shop downloading anything European or remotely sounding European. I particularly like the 600 so if anybody has any recommendations please let me know as there seemed to be less of this model which I can understand given the limitation on payload etc.
  4. Rich, thanks I will look back through the thread for any recommended European Carriers.
  5. This probably should be on the NGX page. I have only used liveries downloaded from PMDG, do the liveries on the Avsim file library use the Livery manager or do you have to install them manually? The thought of going back to FS5 and having to copy into the various folders and then editing the .cfg files fills me with dread. I am interested in a good Air Berlin, far be it for me to criticise the PMDG version as I wouldn't know where to start but a dirty version would be good. I quite like the McPhat Ryanair and am hopeful they may be creating some European operators not that there are many, the European Union seems to have been at work and most European operators use the Airbus. Sorry started to go off on a rant there! Can anybody recommend some good European paint schemes?
  6. I think I may have experienced something similar. When I set up FSX to run NGX I reduced the slider for Autogen density below normal. This resulted in losing all the Jetways with no noticeable improvement in performance. I am not sure if this will help you but it is worth checking.
  7. B736/7MD80Comet my Dad flew on theseBrittania The whispering giant 4 turbo-propsMD11Where do you stop. I have flown on them all, the Brittania was operated by Caledonian Airways, nostalgic to say the least. Sorry didn't get to fly on the Comet, I am old but not quiet old enough.
  8. The 736/7 is good between Ibiza (LEIB) and Barcelona ((LEBL) flight time about 1 hour you can also substitute Menorca (LEMH) and Majorca (LEPA. Similar flight is Faro ((LPFR) to Gibraltar (LXGB) no ILS and tricky approach remaining clear of Spanish airspace. Athens (LGAV) to any of the Islands Corfu (LGKR) or Santorini (LGSR). Vienna (LOWW) to Geneva (LSGG) or Innsbruck (LOWI) are good sometimes challenging approaches if the weather is bad. All of these destinations are supported by good scenery that doesn't kill your frame rates. All of these destinations are serviced by the 737 fleets.
  9. David,I have a similar issue but cannot Overclock my system CPU. So I have been looking at the GPU and what my system could manage. The following thread provides some really good advice,http://forum.avsim.net/topic/346449-upgrade-cpu-or-gpu/page__fromsearch__1 I feel bad because I have not upgraded the Graphics card yet, finances are tight and I am weighing up the decision to upgrade the graphics card or build a system around a very good Power supply Unit. Hope you find the answer. At Heathrow Extreme with a lot of AI I get 16 FPS but the occasional drop to 8 or 9 when I change view.
  10. Excellent, I knew I had done this on the Queen and couldn't remember how, it will help with deciding which SID/STAR to select. I will give it a run later.
  11. I have issues with the JS41 and have to run it at a medium setting because of tearing/spoking within the graphics. That said it is another excellent product, the graphics issues seem to hit NVIDIA and ATI cards, there are several threads to read on the JS41 page that describe it with fixes for many. JS41 owners are hopeful now that the NGX is out that a SP1 might cure the problem. It is still a delight to fly although the management of the engines takes a little getting used to. You have to plan well ahead to get the speed back as you come over the threshold and engine fires are a regular occurrence. I am looking at the MD11 as the next purchase and that will make the full set, I had it on FS2004, but waited for the NGX as I like the idea of operating in Europe rather than long-haul across the pond.
  12. I found the 600/700 livery page by logging into my account and using the tab from there.
  13. Try starting Livery manager as System Administrator. I had to delete my existing texture files, only those with the liveries I had before and then using the manager reinstall them. I have the Expansion pack but can't find any 600/700 liveries to download. They don't show when I use the tab on the web page. The 600 and 700 are a dream to fly with no problems on my system. I did run out of fuel inbound to Gibraltar but it was my stupidity!
  14. Or use the Y key, they will get around to fixing it!
  15. Ryan, I tried it but still had the problem, I will give it another go and see what happens. I look forward to the SP and I accept that getting people experiencing problems that stop them enjoying the NGX has to be a priority. We that are enjoying the NGX without issue and have experienced problems with the JS41 know the feeling.
  16. Disappointing response to a thread on PMDG General by Ryan re the SP for JS41
  17. Ryan, The main issue with the JS41 is the texture flickering that a lot of people are experiencing. In my view it makes the aircraft un-flyable so it is more than just a few tweaks. I even changed my Graphics card and upgraded my system to run FSX to try and get rid of the dreaded flickering. It is the only aircraft that I have experienced this with, please tell me the issue is being addressed. Just look at the Turboprops area you will see a whole stream of people that have commmented on the problem
  18. I liked the shots and was impressed by the scenery, who is it by? I looked Port Elizabeth up on Google Map, I spend far too much money on scenery so probably will leave this as I am trying to concentrate on Europe. The NGX lends itself to shuttles between adjacent countries, I can imagine that SA also lends itself to these flights. I flew into Jo'burg and then onto Malawi and Botswana a few times, do you get a good selection of scenery for FSX? I loved the RL scenery and look forward to returning for a vacation.I just noticed you are from Durban, Sharks rule!
  19. Don't wait for the NGX, it is awesome you are really missing out by waiting. I just flew from LOWW Vienna to LGAV Athens at night in a storm, it was a real rush. I can't recommend it enough. Hopefully once they have the initial release issues sorted with the NGX they will solve our flashing textures.
  20. I am using FSX download weather, what would you recommend ASE or REX and does either come with a hit on frame rates?
  21. +1 I installed the RTM version no problems, when I installed Hotfix 1 it didn't CTD but I lost the movement in the aircraft, you know when you adjust the payload or fuel, it just didn't seem right so I rolled back to the RTM. My concern now is that when I eventually inxtall SP1 that these problems will reoccur.
  22. Yes just found it on Amazon at http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004NBYCZ6/ref=asc_df_B004NBYCZ64169726?smid=A1RBLI8BU7UB9Y&tag=googlecouk06-21&linkCode=asn&creative=22218&creativeASIN=B004NBYCZ6 £229.54, that's hell of a link!
  23. Di, Do you never sleep! I have done that it is 27.9 cms so it looks like it will fit. I think I am going for the 6950, run it and see what frames I get and then when I want more flash the BIOS, sounds easy when you say it quickly!
  24. I am with you Jamalje, I have tried Xplane and didn't like it, I thought the marketing was good but was disappointed, it has all been said. Anyway I have spent a fortune on Scenery and aircraft and for that matter computers why would I want to change now. The only disappointment with the Microsoft FS series is that you struggle to bring addons forward with the new release, it took me a while to move to FSX I am glad I have, but I am not sure how quickly I will move to the next product. Sorry I have probably gone off topic.
