Oh come on…give me a break. I’m not implying anything. I responded to a post about him flying airliners. Specifically the 747. This is utterly ridiculous. I don’t mention anything about his other flying experience because the post I quoted didn’t mention anything about his other flying experience. What I said is that he had a type rating in the jet with no actual experience. As far as his experience with the actual 747, he has none. Plain and simple. I then asked someone to prove me wrong because I don’t follow the guy gushing over his resume. That in no way diminishes his other accomplishments in his life. Good grief….

He has a 747 type rating with most likely no time in the actual plane. a long time ago when the J41 came out, he was giving his resume out saying how he was the IAD chief pilot and he never made it to a bigger airline. I would love for someone to verifiably prove me wrong. Truly I would.

Yes. I mentioned that with my comment about doing OE. If you are giving OE, you are the legal PIC no matter what seat you’re in.

If it’s not OE and it’s for staffing, the person in the right seat is not the PIC. Therefore, they aren’t the captain. However I know what you’re saying though, the airline would use captains to staff flights as the legal FO.

As much of an inconvenience it is. It’s helped me to take a closer look at that last vector on a STAR. Is it a heading or a track? Lol

It’s not, based off what he says, it sounds like we fly for the same airline. The MAX is a great plane. I enjoy flying it. It’s a dog up at high altitude but other than that it’s not bad at all. that post from Reddit does have a bit of hyperbole in it though. I’ve never experienced the issues with VNAV “lagging.” Don’t know why he’s bothered that there’s a mode called “retard.”

All of that is irrelevant because a pilot no matter where or what they are flying is governed by the FARs when operating under their certificate.

Hello, I currently have the rift s and want to upgrade. My computer runs a 3080 and a 7950x3d with 32gb of ddr5 ram. with so many options out there for be headsets, what do you professional BT users recommend? I don’t want to break the bank price wise. 500 bucks max. I was thinking the quest 2 but since the quest 3 came out, I’ve been interested in that.

Those shouldn’t be on at all. Those lights indicate a fault in the reverser system. Look in the fault list through the fmc and see if there are any active failures.

This way for dovetail doing this FS is why dovetails flightsim never got off the ground. its sad really. Just another way to take suckers’ money. it honestly bums me out because I like trains and I don’t need the same fidelity with them as I do airplane sims but shelling out more money for the same product is annoying:

They should put some effort into modeling the older gauge style cockpits like they used to have in the past. Maybe do an overhaul of the external modeling as well.

Honestly, it’s trash that you have to use an ad blocker to use this site. You should leave out of protest. Losing someone like yourself because of your reasons should speak volumes to avsim.

This has been going on under a w10 install, a new fresh w11 install, a clean install of msfs and my current install with all of my add ons installed without the AAU2 beta and with the AAU2 beta. Anyways, I am on the steam version and when I start MSFS. It does its quick update check and goes into the screen with the advertisements for the newest world update. The blue bar is loading loading loading until about 75-80% complete. Then the program hangs. The little green steam gpa counter in the upper left corner indicates no change and the game will stay like this for hours. Never gets to the main menu. I end the task and restart the program. Then it randomly finishes loading and gets to the main screen. The next time I play msfs, it hangs at the same spot on the initial load. has anyone else experienced this?

I thought it wasn’t working for me as well. But it was. When you pull up resource manager, it’s going to show all cores being used. However, when I resized the msfs window to allow space for the resource monitor window on the same monitor, the second I started using msfs, the cores parked themselves liked they should. If I clicked back on the resource monitor, the cores unparked themselves. It’s most likely working normally, you just don’t see it. Try what I did and see if the cores are doing what you want them to do. Something to consider….

Like others said, it is the standardization for all the waypoints and airways in the entire world. If you plan to use real life flight plans, charts for navigation. Having the most current AIRAC installed is imperative for a smooth experience within the sim. If you don’t care about using real charts for navigation or waypoints for flight planning, then having the most current AIRAC isn’t as important in the sim.
