  1. Wow this looks amazing. I'm hoping to have V5 completely reinstalled by this weekend. It takes a LONG TIME when you have so many add-ons.
  2. Wow you must live in Oregon too? Just kidding, yeah we are dealing with that too, its complete insanity. They are building everywhere but not adding or widening any roads and the traffic in Portland has become a complete parking lot. My neighbor just put there house up for sale and the second day she took an offer for 50k over asking. Good luck in finding something where you are.
  3. Check your shadows, those can be a performance killer too... You could switch to V5 and get a nice bump in FPS. Most stuff including Kai tak has a v5 installer now.
  4. Well Martin at the end of the day let us know what you went with and how you like it. 😉
  5. That's correct I am using an RTX3090 so G-sync and it worked perfectly fine. If I'm not using 30FPS lock I can get 50-55 FPS in P3D V5. When I was using V4 I would try to maintain a 30FPS minimum at the most demanding locations. This kept it smooth at all times. I only had the monitor for a day, as it is attached to my wife's computer. Mine is similar but does not have g-sync or HDR. But my next monitor will have that for sure and be larger. 40-42" range I hope.
  6. WHAT! 27" Its time to buy a new monitor and you look at 27" for a flightsim computer? Are you not feeling well? Look my wife just got a monitor for like $350USD its a LG 34" ultrawide has HDR and Freesync and it works perfectly fine with G-sync. and makes P3D or MSFS very smooth. How do I know? Cause I stole it for a weekend to try it out. Now how can you go wrong with that. Trust me once you have that much screen to enjoy you are not going back to something like a 27". I know a lot of people recommend 4k and that's fine too, but once you go ultrawide....
  7. This is almost the same upgrade I did and for the same reasons. You will get a slight boost in the FPS department but the real improvement is 2 extra cores, this helps a lot with terrain/scenery loading. Now for the 3080 upgrade you will see a significant boost in performance in P3d v5. Between the 2 a very worthy upgrade from my personal experience. For the record my upgrade was a 9600k to 9700k and 2080 to 3090. I did try a 9900k at the same time but it was not a good overclocker so I returned it and kept my 9700k. However next month when the new stuff comes out from Intel I may decide to do an upgrade again.
  8. It was something nvidia did a few releases back.. Its no-longer the case I just reinstalled my OS last week and NCP was included with the latest driver. Someone obviously realized the stupidity of not having it.
  9. For MSFS it is a nice addition. For P3D it is a VERY nice addition. As MSFS is already so smooth it is not as big of a difference but it really smoooooths out P3D. Keep in mind this is with a RTX3090. With a lesser card there may very well be a more noticeable difference/improvement.
  10. So while I had a fresh windows 10 install and 2 empty SSD's I installed V4 and V5 along with ORBX true earth Washington State. I set them up to have as close to the same settings as possible, mostly high settings and departed Paine field south towards Seattle. V5 was nice and smooth around 55-60 FPS. (Yes, really), Then I loaded up V4 and loaded the same flight with the same F-35 aircraft. I was getting between 30-40 FPS with dips into the 20's. and the SMOOTHNESS was all GONE. So V5.2 really is the way to go...
  11. This is exactly why I never used 30hz in V4, however it does not seem to be much of an issue in V5.
  12. Its not worth the performance hit. REX has V5 installers for skyforce so you can improve things there, but yeah the lighting issue with P3D is my biggest complaint also. I really hope they are working on this for the next release.
  13. This is exactly why I don't have this or a PMDG plane. See my signature below I'm not afraid of spending money, but a line has to be drawn somewhere. I hope when MSFS versions are released they reconsider there pricing model.
  14. I wouldn't be surprised to see MS-Combat Simulator make a return in the next few years.
  15. My mistake it was not EA causing the slowdown it was the new road night lighting causing the hits. Also DO NOT use P3D to limit frame rate leave it at unlimited or it will introduce stutters. Use NCP to limit frame rate. Currently I am only using 1/2 refresh rate and unlimited in sim. That's it. That's the only changes and its very smooth, no screen tearing with high graphic settings and true earth scenery.
  16. Yes that's it. I'm doing this from memory I'm at work... And unlimited in sim.
  17. Stan this is the same nightmare I had with the Microsoft store when MSFS came out, after about 25 hours and over a week and a half I finally gave up, and fixing computers is what I do. Then someone on here said just go buy it at Steam. I wish this was the route I took to begin with. IT JUST WORKS... NO PROBLEMS no errors. EDIT: glad you have it working 🙂
  18. Actually REX skyforce is compatible, I am using it. You have to get there latest installer. And most of the other stuff has dedicated installers or will simply work by changing the directory to V5.
  19. As I just recently found out V5 works very well at 30hz, and along with upgrading to V5 you will get a nice performance boost (as long as EA is turned off). Something to consider.
  20. Its actually very simple, I have a 60hz refresh rate monitor. Go into the nvidia control panel scroll down to "vsync" and select "half refresh rate". Then in P3D use unlimited NOT 30, it will be much smoother. Again this is for V5. For V4 I used 60fps Vsync lock as 30fps was not nearly as smooth in V4. At least in my opinion.
  21. If I wasn't in the middle of reinstalling everything right now (needed more HD space) I would take a look. (currently using my laptop), But yeah I don't think that's right.
  22. Is this just ORBX austrailia? Because they also have a Cairns Add-on airport scenery which is amazing and looks far better than this.
  23. Another thing worth noting is... not sure which version you are using but v5 works very very well at 30FPS locked in nvidia control panel and run unlimited in the sim. I use ORBX true earth and have a VERY smooth experience.
