The Fenix looks really good and I've heard good things about it, but they are a brand new developer and I'm not sure it will live up to the hype some on these forums have for it. The MD82 seems to be a complex airliner and something I would enjoy learning, but it doesn't grab me. I'm not a stickler for RL planes and routes (I'm doing a 747-8 round the world tour and I'm currently in Africa and having a blast), but I don't see why I would fly this plane regularly. Maybe on sale I would get it. PMDG 737 would be my pick. I've purchased from them since the days they were actually selling manuals (747 manual for the Aerowinx PS 1 747 at the time) and I know what I'm getting. Yes I know this will be the 4th time I'm buying the same plane, but I'm itching to move into MSFS2000 from P3D. I'll probably be getting all three at some point, but the 737 would be first if they were all out at the same time.

Hello @threegreen Some time after was the case. I did some more research and I disabled the option in WMR that started SteamVR with Windows Mixed Reality. The next thing I did was a google search on VR headset timing out in Win11 and there is automatic RegEdit fix. I tried the same flight today and was able to put the headset down without a crash as well as disable/enable VR from the P3D menu without closing P3D. @mpo910 When I get home I will post the info to LM forums. I saw a few people had already done so, but there were no replies.

I disable VR in the P3D menu. I was testing a flight from VRMM to OMDB. I disabled VR and placed the headset down. One of the programs went idle (I'm guessing) and closed P3D.

Hello @threegreen I did a search and tested solutions I was able to find: Turn hardware accelerated gpu off Game mode off Full screen optimization off The above worked. Now I have to find out to how to stop SteamVR or Windows Mixed Reality (not sure which) from closing P3D after I disable VR for cruise. Thank you for the help!

Hello everyone; Recently I've gone back to flying airliners in P3D. I've read the setup suggestions and have applied them. However, I'm not getting the results I hoped for... Except I am! Let me explain. When P3D is NOT the main window highlighted (IE when the top bar is white), my VR frames are amazing. When P3D is my main window, the frames are very choppy. I had this issue before and tried to search to find the cause, but was unable to find it. Does anyone have a fix or have encountered this problem as well? For reference i9900k OC to 4.7 Reverb G1 (Using Windows Mixed Reality, fpsVR beta, with SteamVR) Nvidia 2080ti

I have to agree with everyone else. As part of my flight training, my instructor would constantly ask me, "Where would we land if the engine failed?", "Where's the next suitable landing location", or something similar... To just give up and ditch... I didn't know that was ever an option.

Hiya Pink Pony!!! I've done 6 flights in the same area (China. Korea, Japan) and my stutters have not come back. I CAN have EA on but NOT volumetric clouds. I've been using the PMDG 747-8 for all flights. Have you had on volumetric clouds?

AI Companion is fantastic. The traffic limiter options are why I would recommend this add on, even if there were no other options. As Ray above said you can use it for other handy features as well. One of the things I enjoy is seeing the status of the AI planes and then clicking them in AI finder and P3D goes right to that aircraft. I know it isn't a big deal to right click, then click traffic, then go through all the AI. However the ONE CLICK (sorry i couldn't resist) method of viewing the AI you've installed is very convenient!

Totally agree with ywg256. Do it a few times and you shouldn't have to touch it again. At one point I was running UTL, and AIG OCI is a far better experience. Hang in there!!!

The company I work with is still getting new 76 and 777s. We've all smelled the "new car" smell, but have you smelled the "new airplane smell"? I do not like the extra caked on dirt look. I've even seen some folks request a dirty fuselage. From my experience, the old old (not to be confused with one old!) MDs get caked on dirt near door areas, but unless you're really up on the plane, you won't see the dirt at all. Ok back on topic! 😀

I flew with Enhanced Atmospherics off and there were no issues. I'll continue on other test flights and report back if I have any horrible FPS without EA on.

CPU settings: HT ON AM as I got from Steve W (Core 0 is never maxed with these settings) MainThreadScheduler=0 RenderThreadScheduler=1 FrameWorkerThreadScheduler=2 AffinityMask=64853 3rd Party Apps Manage by Process Lasso so that they all run on cores 6-15 (ALL of the apps listed below do not average over .30 CPU average) Active Sky Beta, ASCA, TrackIR, AIG Traffic Controller, AI Companion, LINDA, Navigraph charts I removed the Client, Content and Scenery as part of upgrading to P3D 21831 Everything is good from load to some point in flight then it falls apart. What then happens is out of nowhere, everything goes back to normal.

I installed the latest hot fi that was supposed to correct these stutters... So far I'm flying RPLL to VHHH and the second I left land (SANRO waypoint) the fluctuations started again... from .5 FPS to 37 to FPS to 3.3 to 44.... UGH!!!! I was wondering the same thing. I've been doing the PMDG 747 -8 tour of Asia, and I've noticed that the taxi lights don't show anything. In external view they are on and bright but from the flight deck they aren't noticeable. Wonder what happened....

Hello! I'm currently having an issue with the doors on the 747-8. When I call for Prepare for Pushback and departure from GSX, the doors continuously open and close. Does LINDA module 1.5 for the 747 have access to the door functions on the PMDG 747? If so, how can I disable it or correct the issue? Thank you! For reference: I've contacted Virtuali of GSX who says GSX does not affect the door operation I'm using P3D v5.3 LINDA Module 3.3.2 Latest update to GSX and the PMDG 747-8

Hello; I'm having two issues that the Addon Organizer has alerted me to and I'm trying to figure out how to fix. I have two pictures of the issue, but, for whatever reason, the insert image from URL isn't working for me. First issue: On startup of the organizer (version 1.55b10) I get a box stating Invalid or broken packages (=addon.xml) detected: ...\ActiveSkyP5 Missing add-on.xml Strongly advised not to continue... However, my Active Sky is functioning. What should I do to correct this issue? The next problem AO is showing is a purple entry for FTX_VECTOR_FixedAPT Orbx GLobal openLC North America The expanded information shows the following "F:\Orbx Library\p3dv5\Global openLC North America\ORBX\FTX_OLC\FTX_VECTOR_FixedAPT Active Addon-Packages <Global openLC North America> Not Required Layer 215" How can I correct this issue? Very nice video. As someone who was born and lived in Newark for a long time (and still works there!) it was nice to see the area get some recognition. The tiles looked great. I do not have X-Plane but if I did I would be begging for this! Side note: I hope they update EWR airport scenery. The new terminal One is being built and has caused fairly large changes to the south area. (No more UPS in the south area, they are instead in the north area, FDX lost two widebodies gates, etc...) I was also hoping to see the big blue cranes in Port Newark/Port Elizabeth. Thanks for the vid and nice home cockpit!

Hello; I was interested to see/know how your VA handles the scheduling. I went to the website (which looks good), and tried to click on a few things, but it did not get me anywhere. I had basic questions like Is VATSIM required? What are the flight requirements to remain active? Is time acceleration allowed? What is state of the art about your crew center? Thanks!

I, for one, would really not like to see some of the P3D addon prices return. I'm sure a lot of you remember the it's priced high for legal reasons, but I don't think that applies to MSFS' platform. So what is the justification, now, for a $140 add on? I love complex airliners, but I'm not sure I want to pay over $100 AGAIN for an airplane with updates. I'm hoping Fenix comes in around $75 or lower. Also hoping PMDG comes in lower than $100. Having to be honest with myself, if the 73 (or any plane) comes in at over $100 I will not be buying it first day. I'll wait for a sale. Yes, I can afford the planes, but there's nothing wrong with my P3D installation. I'll wait them out if they go too high.

In regards to Lady D, the clips and ads are what make her seem like she's far more prominent than she actually is in game. The other bosses may not be hot as her, but they have a bit better "character".
