I limit them to 60 in NI. I never understood the "30 FPS smooth" thing. It just doesn't look smooth to me. Maybe it does in fullscreen, but not in windowed. The main problem with locking to 30 is that in detailed areas, you'll get 15. When I lock them to 60, I get 25-30 in detailed areas. Even more if I set them to unlimited, but then I get tears so I keep it at 60.

I was actually referring to the outer border that resembles the panel of a 747 or 777. I was thinking in maybe a way to change the border outside the display to resemble the panel of another plane not the display itself. When we talk about gain it's not just increasing the amount of cut off for each colorcode, it's actually revealing more of the green as well, or showing areas of green precipitation that are really just thick clouds. But then again the cut off is also altered to a more sensitive setting.

As Bryn explained, the problem is that if you run it with any other weather program, you get a blank screen. No other program inject weather quite like ASN. Many people still don't understand it. Not saying you don't though, but there are people on Facebook still asking PMDG beta testers if the new weather radar will work with Opus, REX, AS2012 etc...

A suggestion, other than a gain function, maybe a gauge with the grey borders to accompany the NGX. Or perhaps some way to color the outside border of the gauge.

It may be the ISFD instead of the analog stby instruments. They doesn't clack like the analog instruments.
