  1. I have the GIGABYTE RTX 4070 GAMING OC installed in another system of mine (7800X3D) and it's absolutely crushing MSFS at 1440p with Frame Generation on. Previous GPU in this system was a RTX 3080 and it's getting outclassed by the newer RTX 4070 (largely thanks to FG). We're talking almost double the amount of frames and it's super smooth. Highly recommended as long as your resolution isn't 4K.
  2. I have plenty frames to spare and like having a cabin. If anything, I consider it a bare minimum for a premium product nowadays. With the upcoming GSX feature, having a cabin will only add to the immersion and work flow.
  3. The Airbus offerings from Aerosoft are too much on the casual side to get me excited and the lack of a cabin in 2023 isn't helping matters. I hope it delivers for those of you waiting but the recent news are rather worrying.
  4. Thanks for heads up! Been looking forward to this gem. Purchased!
  5. Try turning off bloom and see if that fixes the flashing.
  6. I've spent the last couple of days trying to get used to the new layout but everything is unintuitive and cumbersome. The buzz words in the presser promised an improved user experience. I'm afraid it's anything but that if you're on a pc... I've kind of given up on using the website for the time being which is a shame because it still has some great addons.
  7. I crave immersion and this certainly adds to that. Can't wait to try it out!
  8. A second vote for KDEN which has become the biggest hub for three top 10 US-based carriers, United, Southwest and Frontier. It's one of just four airports in United States with more than 200 destinations and has daily flights to just about every city in the United States. Certainly a must have. Flightbeam KDEN is available from the marketplace. Highly recommended.
  9. Hello, Quick question. Is this tied to the demo version or is something else going on? I'm interested in buying but it needs to be able to connect automatically. Starting AAO after fully loaded into the sim (at the gate or runway) makes no difference. It's always greyed out. Thanks in advance.
  10. Correct. What does my comment have to do with SU11?
  11. Open AIFlow.ini and confirm AIPLANESPOTTINGONLY is set to 0. If not, change it and save.
  12. Squawk 1234 will suspend all landings. Only use it to depart a busy runway.
  13. I've never seen it while flying, which is odd because my new Ryzen CPU is severely bottlenecked by a GTX 1080. Just to be clear, stutters do happen every now and then but only when the GPU is struggling to keep up. No spinning circle from what I can tell. Not sure if it's of any use to you, but I fly with photogrammetry and multiplayer both turned off. Live weather is turned on. My computer is wired to a 5000/5000 mbit internet connection with the router sitting less than a foot away. I hope you find a solution.
  14. It depends on your settings. Using higher lod values, the autogen (photogrammetry = off) will extend further out. By default, the sim is limited to a value of 2.0000 (200 in sim) but you can change it to a higher number (eg. 8.0000) in your UserCfg.opt file if you have the processing power to back it up. There are pros and cons to both settings. I personally prefer the autogen as photogrammetry can look questionable and produce weird artifacts. Autogen is always sharp but you lose the distinct skylines. It's a trade off.
  15. Just wrapped up the first couple of tests in and around New York/Manhattan in the A320, and safe to say already, wow... what a difference! Right off the bat, using the exact same settings and starting out at KLGA, only the Empire State Building (custom object) would be visible in the distance with terrain/object lods set to 100 and photogrammetry off. I'm now seeing a ton of autogen buildings from the tarmac. Perhaps most important of all, my aging system with just 4 physical cores had been struggling to keep up with the more powerful GPU. Using a ton of custom tweaks along with the refresh rate mod, I had managed to improve things but micro stutters would persist. Well, no more. The sim was smooooooth throughout in what I'd classify as a very demanding scenario (Manhattan). On top of that, my landings were always bumpy in the airliners and while still not perfect, they're much better. Not sure what changed there (haven't fully read the changelog yet) but it's certainly not a placebo. It's a very noticeable change in my sim. I'm not much for hyperboles but everything is quite simply better on my end using the latest update. Hats off to you guys, Asobo. I'm super impressed by this update!
  16. Settings > Graphics > Change Lens Correction to ON
  17. I have to agree with Colonel X here, something is definitely wrong and needs to be fixed by Asobo. Upon launch, MSFS automatically defaults to High but I'm getting insane micro and macro stutters, lasting anywhere from a couple of seconds to minutes. They are there from start to finish. FPS is high (but unflyable) regardless of what settings I choose. Specs i7-7700K GTX 1080 32 GB RAM SSD 1920x1080 Screenshot below was taken using the following settings Preset set to Low AI off Multiplayer off Vehicles and boats off Rolling cache on/off (tried both) HT on/off (tried both) HAGS on/off (tried both) Vsync on/off (tried both) Half resync rate using both Nvidia Control Panel and Rivatuner Antivirus, antispyware and antimalware completely shut off Two days in with extensive testing and I'm just about ready to throw in the towel. Again, settings appear to make no difference whatsoever.. the crazy stutters remain. My system is stable with zero issues outside of MSFS. Asobo, please fix this. Your simulator is gorgeous but it is literally unusable right now. That being said, any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.
  18. A game is, by rule and definition, simulated. Whether physical or abstract, games can serve as entertainment in its purest form, be educational or both. It matters not if you're running the virtual runtime environment off a refurbished hundred dollar laptop or one of United Airlines' state-of-the-art A320 simulators in Denver. Understand that a simulation will always be a game and vice versa. What's of importance is what you make of it, really.
  19. It's COMPLETELY irrelevant because that's NOT why I have a problem with eSellerate. You're trying to turn this into a sales pitch and point out all the positives. Save it and let potential customers make their own decision. Most will not have a problem with it if the product itself is great and the ones who will aren't going to be won over by the arguments presented so far or your personal opinion on the matter, guaranteed. A trial functionality can still be integrated into the code with little to no DRM at all. It all comes down to the comfort level of the publisher/developer and not the DRM. Don't pretend like it's only possible thanks to eSellerate, you as a programmer, should know better. From a technical standpoint, it is very much possible. Fact. Stay on topic. Why you compare Starforce to eSellerate is beyond me. I consider both unfriendly and inconvenient simply because, they are, to me. That doesn't mean they're one and the same in the way they function. Do not put words in my mouth, thank you. Great, but that wasn't the initial argument here which you've chosen to ignore. It's common sense that the majority aren't would-be customers, well known AAA publishers have acknowledged as much, like CD Projekt RED. With the figures you brought forth earlier, I would say you've more than proved my point. Unless you can prove otherwise, there's not much else to say. You're drawing conclusions all over the place. Nothing I've said so far is wrong, not a single thing. Our opinions differ, that's all there is to it. You don't have to respect mine (it makes no difference to me personally), but you will have to accept it, as I will accept yours.
  20. I can appreciate a trial feature for software, sure, but that's irrelevant and strictly a business decision. You feel the services provided by eSellerate allows for a trial because it's within your comfort zone but that's YOUR PERSONAL feeling. We're seeing developers, big and small, releasing products with little to no DRM despite the fact that it is indeed a niche market. Activation is fine, I've said that all along. Neither Starforce or eSellerate are lite DRM. Any form of fingerprints and stamps, background processes, encryption, limitations to activation uses or mandatory deactivation due to identifier being in use. It's all part of the newer generation of DRM which aren't considered lite. The first generations of DRM began as a simple activation and I support that a hundred percent. Always have, always will. I do actually. You even openly admitted it yourself. Here's what you said and I quote; a. believe it or not, the number of people that TRY to activate a blacklisted Serial Number are in the TENS OF THOUSANDS PER YEAR. b. the ones that subsequently purchase a product are about THOUSANDS PER YEAR I rest my case. I agree DRM is a necessary evil in the industry but like I said, within reasons. As a software developer, you will lose out no matter which approach you choose to take so put your customers first. Virtuali, lets agree to disagree on to what extend DRM should be used. You can count me in as a customer if you ever change your DRM policies and I will personally buy some of the products through you to make good on my promise.
  21. No, I'm not wrong. You're drawing conclusions here. I never said eSellerate was like Starforce. I said I don't like neither. Again, I know how it all works (I'm a programmer myself) and thus why I don't condone taking such measures in protecting IP. eSellerate is different from say Starforce but it still creates a hw fingerprint and enforces consumers to take extra steps (deactivation/activation). You say it's friendly, I say it's inconvenient and unnecessary. Is it there for the consumers? No, it's there with anti-piracy in mind. Convenient is; activate, boom, done. Permanently. That's convenient and consumer friendly. At the end of the day, there is no right or wrong. If you believe DRM like eSellerate is the way to go, then by all means. I'll never support it and I have every right not to. I don't support Apple and my Windows doesn't need registration. There are numerous ways to own a Windows license. But activations are perfectly okay, as long as there are no asterisks whatsoever. People pirate because they can't afford the products. I don't condone piracy, I'm in fact very much against it and support lite DRM. That being said, the majority of people who pirate aren't potential customers so what little profit you gain from using DRM like eSellerate, you lose from alienating other customers. I've seen people complain about it on your forums and elsewhere, Virtuali. Do you really buy that customers jump in joy when they find out they have to deactivate a product? Hardly. As for breaking even, other companies are getting by.
  22. I know how it works but DRM like eSellerate, Denuvo, Starforce etcera are not consumer friendly. I believe in protecting your intellectual properties but within reasons. There should never be a limit to x amount of activations, machine fingerprints, background processes, deactivation requirement or anything remotely close. It's not a knock on your products, it's a knock on the DRM in use. Like I said, it's a matter of principle to me and always has been - just like I treasure online privacy and in real life. Piracy cannot be defeated and studies show that DRM does more damage than good. Point in case, you lost me as a customer.
  23. Anything from FlyTampa. Superb quality throughout, great performance and customer support. Some of the latest offerings from Taxi2Gate are great as well. You can't go wrong with these two. I can't speak on behalf of FlightBeam and FSDT/C9 as I don't support products with unfriendly DRM but I'm told they're good too. I'm tempted to get KDEN but I will not as it's a matter of principle.
