AS16 weather engine any improvement over ASN
Bsal replied to Wise87's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumI haven't noticed any neg impact on performance compared to ASN, it's the same or better in performance.

Sunset From The Flightdeck
I'm using these with an enb series mod called enb_24hr_v1_1 that I got from the REX forum http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fsxmisc&DLID=179660

Stupid PPL exam questions
Spain is a member of EASA, the PPL and ATPL exams all come from a standard database formerly called JAA. I don't understand how their question bank can be different to other EASA member states. I did my PPL and ATPL exams in Ireland under the IAA and our questions where not as poor a standard as the examples given above and I don't believe the CAA exams in England are as poor either.

PMDG airplanes crooked to flight path
Are you sure its not the wind causing the aircraft to crab into it, a crosswind will cause the plane to turn into the wind to maintain its track.

Best Weather Engine?
Active sky next is probably the best, I was also using FSGRW and was happy with it but I found it a bit slow to update the weather conditions. Im using ASN now and I love it.

Airbus X Extended Released
Density altitude will affect the max N1/EPR for TOGA, places like Eindhoven being at low altitude will reduce N1 because the air is thicker and vice versa for Nairobi.

I don't see anything strange in your picture, they are just stratus clouds.

Searching for weather engine
I did my first flight with FSGRW build #12 from Austin to Denver, great weather depiction all the way, no cloud popping, no wind shifts no problems. These are the settings I use FSGRW weather radius=100nm, max visibility 180km, FSX clouddraw 176km. Using dynamic download mode in standard depiction mode.

Searching for weather engine
FSGRW version 1.7 build #12 has just been released, enjoy! INFORMATION ABOUT THE CURRENT RELEASE Version 1.7 Build #012 was released on September 1st 2013 and contains the following changes: .) Completely rewritten Network Bridge for better performance and multiple simulator support. .) A bug, that could cause unnatural wind shifts to occur after completely refreshing the weather, was fixed. .) A bug, that caused initial weather sets during flight when flying with a simulation rate other than 1, was fixed. .) A bug, that caused upper air temperatures to be too high in many circumstances, was fixed. .) A bug, that caused natural wind movements to appear in high altitudes although the setting was turned off, was fixed. .) A bug, that caused exceptions and lost connections when using Prepar3D, was fixed. .) Added a feature that allows one FS Global Real Weather Client to connect to up to 7 Network Bridges and distribute weather information to them. .) The user interface of FS Global Real Weather now supports all DPI settings (not only 96). .) Natural Wind Movements now only occur up to a certain altitude (around FL100, depending on the actual atmospheric conditions) which is closer to reality than the previous implementation. .) FS Global Real Weather will now display METAR strings for each weather station review. However, these will not be exactly the same as the ones from NOAA (or other official sources), because FS Global Real Weather creates them based upon the actual weather data that is collected from more than just METAR data sources. .) Data export will now automatically be done after a successful weather download to improve support for third-party add-ons using our data exchange file (previous builds only exported when starting weather transfer). .) Updated documentation which now includes a step-by-step guide on how to create a shortcut with autostart parameters. .) Fixed a lot of spelling errors and text areas that were to small to display the complete text in the UI.

I'm using 100nm with FSGRW with no problems and it is using around 100-150mb ram.

Searching for weather engine
I have no decrease in performance by using FSGRW, maybe slightly better compared to when I was using ASE. Back to the local weather effects, these will only be added to airports that do actually suffer from whatever weather phenomenon exists in real life when certain conditions are met.
