  1. Let's get a training session on the books, Joe.
  2. Nice job on the MU-2, guys! I just picked it up over lunch and did some quick pattern work. First impressions: 1) I'm flying in P3D and the model looks much better "in person" than on the training videos (which are well done). No offense intended, Joe. The VC is very well modelled. Switch sounds and engine sounds are very good. If you don't follow the correct start procedure, the engines will not light. Trust me. 2) Taxiing is very smooth, but I found I needed a good amount of power to get it moving. Maybe that's true in the real aircraft too. Either way, once moving, it was easy to taxi. 3)Flying the MU-2 is a beautiful experience. It feels much different than the C441. More jet-like, which is what an MU-2 is often compared to. I really like the flight dynamics of this bird. 4) The engine sounds are sweet. I especially love the transition from the start/taxi condition lever setting to the takeoff/cruise setting. My only niggle is when increasing or decreasing torque there is no change in engine sound. This wasn't an issue in the C441. Any way to fix this? One other small thing I'll note is when my power levers are at idle, the aircraft throttles are at ground idle. Is there a detent between flight idle and ground idle in the real aircraft? It may be my TQ's (Elite) but if not, is there any way to make hardware idle match flight idle instead of ground idle? So, overall I really like this aircraft! I think $42 price tag is fair. I foresee many enjoyable flights in SoCal with the MU-2. When can I schedule my first training session, Joe? Todd
  3. I'm not sure why people think $40 (and lately $50) for nice textures and crappy systems plus the same ol' bugs is good buy, yet good systems and FDE, and decent textures (not to mention great customer support) for the same price is not worth it. To each his own, I guess.
  4. Nice videos, Joe. Quick question: when you advanced the power levers for takeoff there was no noticeable change in engine sound, whereas in the C441 there is a noticeable change in sound. Is that normal for the MU-2 (I assume it isn't, but have to ask)? Looking forward to flying! Regards, Todd
  5. I assume you guys are working on the tutorial videos.... Just checking in! Todd
  6. Peter, my experience may be isolated. No computer is the same. I'm also running a GTX 770 GPU which is now old technology. P3D offloads a lot of work to the GPU, so that could be my issue. My experience seems to be isolated.
  7. Installed and did 3 laps in the pattern at KLAX and KSNA. FPS around 20 but the flight was smooth (also had ASN running and there was an overcast layer at LAX, so 20 FPS isn't bad at all). However, after loading my first flight, I got a VAS warning before I even started the aircraft. Second flight, P3D crashed to desktop after departing KLAX. Third flight, I flew a lap around KSNA, landed, then immediately got a VAS warning. Very strange, because I've never had any of these problems with any addon, so I'm thinking something is awry on my end. Overall, the aircraft handled very well. My only niggle with the G1000 is the location of the control pad, which obviously isn't Flight 1's fault. There is the Android app which I haven't tried yet. Hopefully I can figure out these VAS warnings.
  8. Well, I'm certainly going to buy this. I love a good King Air. And, Jim, if you ever release that Mustang for P3D.......
  9. I'm fine with the green tint, since that is what you get in the real airplane. But, to each his own.
  10. Well, no one can deny the Hawker 850XP is a beautiful airplane to start with. Carenado does a great job with the visual aspects of their models. No one will deny that either. Just looking at the airplane presents enough of a temptation. That being said, I'm just going to watch and enjoy the show...
  11. Are you using Opus weather by any chance?
  12. Pay attention to those scopes, Ryan!
  13. Joe, I figured out the issue. I use the King Air TQ, so obviously the prop levers are not used. What I didn't know is the prop levers were somehow affecting the power setting. I always keep the prop levers in the idle position when flying the C441. So, I decided to experiment and try the prop levers full forward. Sure enough, that was the issue. I then went inside the Elite config utility and was able to disable the prop levers for C441. Problem solved. Todd
  14. Joe, I'll shoot a short video and send it to you so you can see it firsthand. If you don't mind, PM me your email. No rush, by the way. Todd
  15. After more testing, it appears the engine surge issue only happens with my Elite TQ's. No problem with the Saiteks. Bummer.
  16. Boom. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&ei=1fgyVYqRH4SfggTY2IGwAg&url=http://givdemo.com/images/N360RA%2520POM%2520%26%2520AFM.pdf&ved=0CCsQFjAG&usg=AFQjCNEqPQijZ5URVHYvPXeWcbcz6G6Hpg&sig2=NlJDhjuBoo4qKVAE0TaZvA
  17. Good read. While I only have my PPL and have never flown in an MU-2, the MU-2 has, for some reason, always been a favorite of mine. I have friends that owned a charter operation in Georgia that operated MU-2. They loved the airplane, but they required their pilots to attend FlightSafety annually. The MU-2 is such an attractive turboprop because they are relatively inexpensive to purchase and operate. But I've been told it flies more like a jet than a prop. Without proper training, inexperienced pilots can get behind the aircraft easily if they don't pay attention.
  18. That is very cool. Thanks for sharing.
  19. I just reinstalled this aircraft last week and am wanting to fly it on Pilot Edge, however I am running into a comm issue. The comms don't work because the hundredths digit is off. For example, if I want to dial in 118.00, I can only get 118.01. I did a lot of testing and confirmed that is in fact an issue with that digit. I was wondering if there is any way to correct that. Thanks, Todd
  20. Anyone else having a comms issue? If I want to dial 118.0 into comm 1, I get 118.01. That won't work online. I don't remember having this issue before. Anyone else experiencing this?
  21. Thanks to everyone for all the mods. I've just recently reinstalled this aircraft in P3Dv2 and the mods make a huge difference. I have 2 questions: 1) has anyone gotten the switch sound mods working in P3Dv2 yet? I added the gauge line from the the pdf to the correct section and made sure it is only one line. 2) I like flying on Pilot Edge but my comms are not working (every other aircraft I use works just fine). It seems the hundredths digit on the cmom radios is messed up. e.g. instead of reading 122.50, it reads 122.56. Just FYI, I have the Metro saved in a cold and dark state and will either load the flight from my saved flights w/in P3D or I'll start the sim using the flight file in the MyDocuments/P3Dv2 folder. Todd
  22. Have you tried 2048 px? I would also drop the resolution of your clouds to 1024 or even 512. I did that and I actually like the clouds better than the HD clouds, not to mention performance is better. Cheers, Todd
