  1. Having two white and two red on the PAPI let you now that you are on the correct aiming point of the runway, usually two big rectangle markings on the runway. When you are above the aiming point and start your flare, you focus on the touch down and staying above the runway. Staying on the PAPI makes sure you are maintaining your MOCA. Then as well it is prestige, show that you can fly the aircraft. Question 2. In the video, he is not doing it by the book. Many think that the touch.down zone is the same as the aiming point where the PAPI lights guides you. The touch-down one is located behind the aiming point, just like you can see on his second picture, where the approach light is shown. In general, it is not the end of the world if you are a little of as long as you keep separation from the ground, in VMC, but in IMC, it is a whole other story.
  2. Why not upload it to Avsims?! Looks cooI, will try it out.
  3. I hope he know how much joy and laughter he have spread on over the web, even if the later was not the intention :P
  4. Thanks a lot you broke my sarcasm detector!
  5. Poor thing, it just shows how badly she wants get get back in the air.
  6. I might have been blinded by the looks of the NGX, but it looks so blend. Might be the angle but the flaps just looks like one big piece and not like a Fowler flap. I can agree that that Wilco do not look good, but this is not much better to me. I just do not mean this picture, but when I look at all the all the pictures on their website,I just don't get sold. It looks ok, but not the best.
  7. Alright, my apologies, see now that this is about MS Flight, which I happily have no knowledge about.
  8. What plane are you using, a third party? Or do this imply to all aircraft, even defaults?
  9. http://www.blackboxsimulation.com There are a few like Flight Sim Lab and Air simmers, even if they are quiet, that are working on Airbus aircraft. The thing is, as I understand, that Airbus is so so when it comes to give out information about systems and other features as well for safety reason and also in the fact that they develop systems that they want to keep secret.
  10. €45 for this..... They better have a nice flight characteristics other wise I don't think it is worth it. I would wait for the FSL as well!
  11. And people call the A380 "the flying whale"
  12. I do not think FSX supports anything higher than DX9. Microsoft did a preview of DX10 in SP2 and Acceleration. But it is just a big hit on performance. If I am not mistaken, in the manual for the NGX is says to turn the DX10 preview off.
  13. If I am not mistaken there is a feature in AS'12 that makes the wind change smooth. Other wise FSUIPC has a feature that makes the wind smooth. It also says that with the Direct Weather Control, it might cause S-turns with 3rd party aircraft.
  14. I would suggest to start with C&D and work from there. Follow the manual and you will learn the program much better. You can with the arrows on the main window jump forward into the different segments. But it sounds that you have not set-up your buttons, when you select "Take-off" you must press you main button to activate the sequence and tell the FO to do his things. You Main button is under FSX command: Alternate Static Source (On/Off) Your Secondary button is under FSX command: Propeller Sync (On/Off) The Main button controls all actions in the left window, mostly the checklists. The Secondary button controls all actions in the right window, call outs. But once again, start from the start and follow the manual step by step, it is much better to learn that way.
  15. How long did you sit and wait for 9.999 to come up? :P
  16. There are forum moderators...you know I can not find stated anywhere what is supposed to be posted in this forum. Is is general things about PMDG or is it PMDG's general about anything? There are tonnes of posts in here that has nothing to do with PMDG, if they don't like it I am sure they remove it, which they have not done! You get a lot of grey hairs if you keep yourself worried about this, so just enjoy the video.
  17. Hehe, I like that he tries out to blur the airline, and at the walk around you see an identical A320 standing at the next gate with TAM written on it.... Interesting ATIS, give NOTAM; as well... "General Forum"
  18. In real life you calculate your landing distance from 50 ft above the threshold.

    777 Request

Did not the 777 come with a folding wing-tip option, so it would take less space at the gate? No airline wanted it so it was never installed.
  20. When you start to slip of the runway, I think the focus is to keep the aircraft on the runway. Do not know about SQ, but some airlines have in the SOP to not use reverses.
  21. What software are you using, RC4?
  22. Neither do the wings, as the video show, the climb performance is horrible.
