PC12 Action at St Barts
Yes, I have actually flown in to St Barts (pax in a Twotter). Thrilling approach and landing to say the least. In FSX I have landed the Flight 1 and Carenado PC-12 there. I fly with crash detection on and even got the CS C-130 in and out of there without a scratch. Only problem is that the freeware scenery I use and looks best results in a crash when I try to take off (only can take off over the water).

Question about Service Pack 20141002
I just bought the PC12 and the web site said you don't need the Service Pack if you bought after October 2014.

What is the deal with the FDE?
SOLVED! I think it was doing another reinstall, this time without my Saitek X-52 controller plugged in. Flies right now. Wonderful add on, really enjoying it and grateful to those here for assistance and helpful tweaks!

What is the deal with the FDE?
Thanks for your replies. Still having this issue. How do you set the elevator takeoff trim? I have downloaded Realtrim for FSX and will give that try later.

What is the deal with the FDE?
Just bought the PC-12. Have had and flown the wings off the FSX Flight1 Pilatus. Love this plane - favorite single engine aircraft. Just got the Carenado PC-12 on sale and the flight model is rubbish! It just wants to pitch up and climb all the time. Drives you completely crazy. Down trim is on full and still does it. I did a clean re-install. No improvement. Re-calibrated my Saitek - made sure the pitch trim was set in the neutral detent. No improvement. My other Carenado planes including their nice B200 don't do this. And then, there is the famous runaway problem on startup that I thought everyone knew about with turboprops in FS and had found solutions to. I have waited to buy this checking here frequently and seeing the long list growing longer of bugs and Bert and others very generous advice, help and posted fixes to everyone (what makes FS great - thanks all). But really, can't Carenado do better than this? This is even after their patch for goodness sake. Do I have to merge the F1 FDE to enjoy what is really only a pretty exterior at the moment?

TDS B737-700 FSX
I can never understand the POSKY/TDS labeling of their models - - but if you visit simviation you can get the new TDS model with the default FSX 737-800 vc already spliced in - so it must be a native FSX model.

TDS B737NG-series Preview
Not wanting to hijack this thread - but resolve the iFly merge issue - I bought the FSX iFly (sadly it sits in my hangar due to unflyable FPS). Tried a merge with the POSKY native 737-700 with the same results above re the hydraulics. They weren't too keen on their web site discussing it (i.e, they don't "support" this) - but I suspect they do something in the gauges that disables the hydraulics - for the purpose of stopping paying customers merging their VC with other models of their choosing. Too bad. I will fly the iFly when I shortly get my new hig performance rig built. However, I have flown the wings off the FSX native POSKY/Skyspirit (aka Hiroshi) 737-700 and 737-800's - mostly in BBJ/BBJ2 configuration with the Rojas modded default fsx 737 panels - and love these aircraft to bits. Have the TDS 787 (superb) and can't wait to try this new 737. I don't really have a sharp enough eye for it but do people think the TDS external model is superior to the iFLy and PMDG payware external models?

Freeware P180!
I will second that! The sounds (just heard one go over this morning) are spot on as is the FM, the systems functionality and visual 3d model and textures. Just zoom in really close in spot view to see how this really looks like HD payware. The new vc IS a big improvement over the older versions. If the background textures could somehow be made more hi res (the gauges can be seasoned to ones taste easily) that would be icing on the cake!

Freeware P180!
Perfect! Thanks Mario for all your work and generously sharing it with the FS community. You have many happy and appreciative fans. This is just so much fun . .

New Avsim Format
We have been here before haven't we? Didn't they try to change the format a year or two ago and due to the outcry reverted to the tried and trusty format we all like? I really dislike this format - I and others know it from e.g. Orbx and it is no where near as user friendly and easy to navigate. In particular, the search for downloads is significantly worse. Also, I cannot see preview images in the page showing the latest downloads - this is critical for time saving when checking this site daily. I will stick to flightsim I guess, however their new format is also inferior to the previous one. I do not think for either web site this is a case of people being old stick in the muds and too wedded to the status quo they have become comfortable with. There are objectively more steps needed to access things that were easier to use previously.

Captain Sim 757 2D and 3D Interior Model w/ Freeware 767 Exterior Model?
Really? I just successfully merged the CS727 VC with the recently released freeware FSX native Tu-145B2 model and it worked perfectly.

Captain Sim 757 2D and 3D Interior Model w/ Freeware 767 Exterior Model?
Absolutely. There are now SkySpirit (formerly Project Open Sky or "POSKY") NATIVE 767 models available - search around for the links. They are really beautifully done with some fun ground equipment animations. I imported and merged the "Freemium" freeware 757 VC into the 767-300ER with winglets model and been using this setup a lot ever since. You can do the same with the CS 757 VC. Good luck!

PA A318/A319 Special Edition
Francois, I really am enjoying this. VNAV seems to work fine for me however as I usually like to engage in filght - above 2500' - I am still not clear whether I just need to set the TARGET Alt, AS, HDG/NAV and then press VNAV -or - if you need ALSO to engage the master AP button. Read the manual and the instructions engage the main AP button when engaging VNAV BEFORE takeoff, but do NOT engage the AP if you engage VNAV above 2500'? Is this correct? In any event it worked the two times I used it (I did not ever press the AP button) and it got me all the way to 41,000 in my A319CJ fully loaded with a very pleasing vertical flight profile - importantly - without encountering overspeed or stall situations. :good: Question re ILS: I set this up three different times by the book. The PFD indicated "G/S" and CatIII ILS and I heard the ILS frequency AND remembered not to have the GPS switched on BUT the plane captured each time only the localiser but never the Glide Slope. I think I was only engaging the Approach button when inside the ILS green arrow but on the final attempt I had both the ILS button and Approach buttons on. It seemed like the problem was it was not releasing the ALT hold mode as it continued to fly at the target 2,500' though when I manually disengaged this on short final it still never captured and rode the g/s down to the runway and just over flew the runway at 2,500' each time. Was it possibly because I had engaged the ALT hold on final at 2,500' and it should only be "target set" but not actually engaged? I don't see why this should be the issue as on airport approach I had earlier exited VNAV and was flying normal AP procedures. Is there something else I need to do? Thanks again for sharing your terrific work.

OOPS!! I meant to say Airbus CJ - repaints for the corporate jets

Would you like to see more Business Jet in FSX?
There are LOTS of short - med range Cessnas, Lears etc to choose from. But they all are only 2-3000+ range. The very obvious missing gap is the ultra long range corporate jet, i.e. G-V or GX or Falcon 7x, e,g, capable of true intercontinental range of around 6,000nm.. A high end freeware Falcon 7x or even a 900LX would fill the bill. Others including me have adapted the now ancient Lavigne, et. al., FS2000 Falcon 50 for FSX and P.A.D. relased a freeware 7x more recently and no one seems to have been hauled into legal proceedings in France . .

Francois, Have been following and really enjoying your fine work. Congratulations on taking freeware this far. The POSKY 737-700 WL [or BBJ] model for FSX using the very good default 737-800 VC as a base would be great to have your "treatment" as well. Also agree with post above more A318/9 ACJ paints would be great to have. expat
