  1. You can click on those undock them and move them to another monitor with no problem.. DJuan
  2. All of my flight planning is done outside of FSX, but I enter all of the navigation is entered either via my GNS530 or an FMC if available. It is not a big deal but a question posed to those that may know.
  3. That was it. Reinstalled it into the plane with Nav and it picked up the flight plan as soon as I engaged the AP.. Thanks for the help Bert.
  4. I was searching around for a forum post that showed how to do this. Do you have any insight on how to install it to replace the included G1000?
  5. Will double check my settings when I get home. Currently have it it installed in the Carenado sr22. Was hoping the G1000 that came with it was better then it was. Installed the GNS530 and it was not working. will double check my settings and get back to you. Thanks..
  6. Dead thread I know but maybe someone is still monitoring it. I did this and I can program away with my GNS530 but It will not actually link with the Aircraft. I can control is with heading select but the gps won't take over and navigate. Is there something I am missing perhaps? I engage the AP I have the GNS setup to link to HDG but still no gots..
  7. Thanks for the headsup. While the SR22 is nice I should have paid a little closer attention to the reviews. It is a great looking airplane and the performace is nice as well I was just hoping I didn't have to shoehorn my gns530 in to get proper navigation.
  8. So I guess its a really fancy cover for the default GPS.. Guess I will use my GNS530 instead.. Thought i could use this to learn abit about the G1000.
  9. I just purchased this lovely aircarft and going over the documents that come with it and I for the life of me can't figure out how to input a flightplan and exec it. I can kind of get direct waypoints in but the keyboard in the center console doesn't work properly for me. Can someone point me in the right direction?
  10. Load the fuel as you normally would and when it comes to passengers the sheet tells you 109 out of 195 seats full. It also tells you you are load 3070 lbs of cargo not sure about the distribution.. Hope that helps.
  11. In the reg version of fsuipc use the key presses tab. Select your aircraft and do the key combo for the flights once it's registered press the button on your quad you wanted assigned. Repeat for the other lights you wanted assigned. If you need more help let me know.
  12. What works for me is to put in the departure airport (kmdw) then I press co route it then allows to browse all of the routes I have saved. I typically make my routes with avilasoft efb and save to the proper directory.. Hope that helps.
  13. I am confused with your last statement. If you check out the flightaware link that was posted and look up a city pair say kord klax It gives you this as an example. Sat 09:50AM CDT UAL608 KORD KLAX A320/Q FL340 PLL PLL275065 FOD OBH J10 LBF DBL J60 HEC RIIVR2 1788 sm This is a United flight on an A320 which filed for FL340. Looks like there was no SID on the departure but there is a STAR going into lax. The RIIVR2 arrival and it gives you the door to door route. Either I am not understanding your question or you are not understanding the information that those websites are providing.. DJuan Carter Can the issue maybe be that you are not inputting the information in the fmc properly? DJuan Carter
  14. Fore mid andnaft cabin are where the passengers are right. In the aircraft.cfg those weights don't get written to it right away. They are held in a variable within the pmdg custom written subroutine and passed directly into fsx bypassing the cfg file. DJuan Carter
  15. Is your pitot heat on? If not that would give your bad speed readings and a few other things.. DJuan Carter.
  16. Read the Technet article quoted from that link and the posts that Ryan made. FSX will not take or use more then 4 gig of ram. Be it video RAM that could be used to bump up your AA settings or RAM allocated for aircraft or or add-ons. The extra ram does help with other programs outside of FSX such as ActiveSky for REX for weather Topcat or an EFB. DJuan Carter
  17. The OS is 64bit but FSX is still a 32bit bit program that was recompiled during sp2 to run properly on 64 bit machines. It will still only allocate 4 gigs max. Actually its less.. Check this link for more information.. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/353625-why-is-a-3gb-graphics-card-not-good-for-fsx/ DJuan Carter
  18. iMHO I would step down the video card. 2 gig of video ram will change the way fsx allocates ram. It will try and address that ram first and it will hit a hard limit at 4gigs since that's all the program can allocate. I would point you to some a thread talking about it but I am typing this on my iPad. Do a little more searching on the video card before you buy. The rest looks good. DJuan Carter
  19. The above suggestions agoukd work fine. Beware you might have to reregister some of your add ons.. Some installers imprint the psychical drive I'd so if you clone it you might have to reregister.. Had that issue with fly Tampa stuff.. DJuan Carter
  20. I typicallynuse the hugs on all my hand flow finals. It gives me all the information you need. Another option is to set you view a little lower so you can see the PFC and ND. Works great with ezdok.. I have used both methods with great success. DJuan Carter
  21. The 8 gigs of memory won't do you any good on your 32 bit operating system. Windows will only allocate 3.5 gigs. Your other 4.5 will go unused. You can either upgrade your os to a 64 bit version or you can try turning down the settings you are currently using. Low res textures in the ngx very low autogen settings and about 5 to 10% traffic should help get you started. DJuan Carter
  22. To make it work you would have to use the spad drivers for the switch panel and create mouse macros within fsx using the registered version of fsuipc. Then you would have to map those macros to a key combo. With the macros mapped to keys you would then use spad to map those key combos to a switch. A bit kludgy but it should work. DJuan Carter
  23. What I did when I started out was to pick an airport that was under a center controller but was not the main airport. An example I picked kdpa which was under Chicago center but not busy at all. What way I could listen in but not be in the way. You could also pick the airport you want but choose a general aviation gate. Just park and listen. Always spawn at a gate never on a taxiway or runway. Other then you should be good.. DJuan Carter
  24. Congrats on taking a big step. If you are going to observe then send a message to the controller overseeing the area you are in. It let's then know you just want to listen in. 25. If you really what to use fsx atc then use simroutes to get an fsx flight plan including SIDS and stars load it to fsx then load up your pmdg with your route. The only deveation is typically airport vors. Fsx act will vector you away then back. I use to use simroutes when I flew posky or default aircraft.. DJuan Carter.
