  1. Thank you for that information. Just discovered an X-Camera addon so I think that's my EZ-DOK replacement covered as well.
  2. I tried the demo and was impressed by the smoothness and night lighting with pretty much everything maxed out in the settings. What I can't seem to find though is if there is anyway of having multiple joystick profiles. I use a registered version of FSUIPC in FSX/P3D to give me that ability. As there anything that adds that in X-Plane be it 3rd party software etc?
  3. I'm loving the look of this DC-6 and with other top notch aircraft now available for X-Plane I feel I am missing out. I have recently swapped over from FSX:SE to P3D v3.2 and that's been expensive but now I am beginning to think the space I can free up with finally deleting FSX could be used for X-Plane. Anyone have any pointers as to what I would need? As a long term user of FSX I rely heavily on addon scenery, weather engines and FSUPIC.
  4. No problem. Thank you for the fix and the excellent immersion packages
  5. Thats not Saitek software at all. Its a rather good replacement for Saitek software provided one knows a little about offsets and LVARs.
  6. I see this has now been fixed in the 18th Feb update
  7. I have just purchased the 777 immersion package and I have noticed that all the effects for the engines are reversed. If I throttle up the just left engine, the jet wash, vortex and condensation effects appear for the right engine (which is at idle). If I throttle up just the right engine then the left engine displays all the effects. I have PrecipitFX and the 737 immersion package also installed and I checked on the 737 and the effects on that aircraft appear correctly and not reversed.
  8. Because you have it pointed in completely the wrong place. Mine is pointed at C:\Users\(your user name)\AppData\Roaming\Hifi\ASNFSX\Weather Change the (your user name) to what's correct for your Windows login. You should find under the Weather directory the current_wx_snapshot.txt file as well as a wx_station_list.txt file. PFPX needs to see both for it to work.
  9. Actually you don't need to save the weather for it to work in PFPX. PFPX is only looking for the current_wx_snapshot.txt file from ASN (along with the static station list file) and the current snapshot updates on load of ASN.
  10. PFPX does have a manual But for sake of argument click on the little WX box towards the bottom right of your PFPX window, between NAV and Tracks, now you should see options for online, save, Active Sky, REX etc. Of course make sure its pointing at the Active Sky WX file for it to work.

Just do the rudder checks while stationary, that way you are not zig zagging all over the place.

Could it be related to this? - Fixed fuel imbalance/disagree on second, third, etc flights without shutting FSX down. From the issues tracking thread. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/418750-pmdg-777-issue-tracking-thread-read-before-posting/
  13. Maybe its related to this? - Fixed a CTD on load that results from errors in the runways.csv or ARPT_RWY.dat files. If you're getting a CTD upon selecting the airplane or pressing Fly Now, please try deleting these two files. runways.csv is in the root FSX folder, and ARPT_RWY.dat is in the FSX\PMDG\NAVDATA folder. runways.csv can be remade using Pete Dowson's MakeRunways.exe tool, found at his website. From the tracked issues thread. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/418750-pmdg-777-issue-tracking-thread-read-before-posting/
  14. Indeed Ryan, its the same with many complex aircraft. Things have to be done outside of the FSX limitations to enable us as customers to enjoy aircraft that are as advanced and close to the real thing as possible, otherwise we would all still be flying the default Cessnas or jets ^_^ . The trade off being some hardware is incompatible or needs extra programming/workarounds to be usable. Thankfully with more third party drivers/software available these days at least some of those limitations can be over come. I for one am thankful to PMDG and others for making complex aircraft that dare to push the boundaries and can except some hardware incompatibilities in the process.
  15. SPAD works with the NGX as a special mode was added after the NGX SDK became available. Now maybe more functionality via SPAD will be possible after a 777 SDK is released. However SPAD hasn't been updated since July of 2012 so I wouldn't count on an special 777 mode being added.
  16. It was published on the 13th of September so it would be a little out of date with the rapid version changes PFPX has had.
  17. I use EZDOK on both the NGX and T7 in FSX and don't use any click spots or shift keypresses. I have 4 main views views mapped to the hat switch via a shift button on the joystick as well as a view cycle button on the joystick. Using EZDOK you can have all sorts of lovely tailored views such as a nice zoomed in FMC, a wide view of all the over head, a view out the left window etc etc, the choice is yours really and it isnt as difficult to set up as people make out as long as you follow the documentation. I also use TrackIR 5 with it. One issue though is that it looks like its not been supported for awhile. I have no experience with OPUS but understand that can be a supported EZDOK replacement with added weather features.
  18. As both an A2A and PMDG customer I would like to add my thanks here as well for the excellent collaboration. I have been lucky enough to not have experienced this issue with my A2A purchase but I can imagine how frustrating it must be for customers with it and developers trying to find the cause when it couldn't be replicated.

I had the same issue after I used my FSUIPC profile from the NGX (and I was already aware of the warnings about using FSUIPC). So it wasn't too much of a surprise when the throttles played up in the 777. All I did to fix mine at the moment was to delete the calibration values in FSUIPC for the 2 throttles. Was able to make a quick take off and landing using auto throttle no problem. The introduction document highlights the possible issues with FSUIPC calibration.
  20. Or use something like TrackIR
  21. Ignore me! I am such a muppet. I had completely overlooked the HS button. So all is well when selecting that. Sorry for my mistake, a classic case of RTFM ;)Anyway thanks for a great product and awesome support even if its user error.Cheers,Nick.
  22. Im having the same problem with the FS2Crew sounds not coming out of my USB headset. I can change the settings in the audio panel to outputs that are not connected and the sounds still play out of the speakers so its like this setting isn't doing anything for me.The ATC from FSX will play through the headset ok as will all the PMDG 737 sounds if I change the setup in their FMC.This is my first FS2Crew product and I think its excellent by the way, I have managed to complete 2 flights so far with all sounds just coming out of the speakers for the entire flight.Cheers,Nick.
  23. I am using FS Commander in place of FSBuild and didn't see the need for TopCat just to have it tell me a derate. Maybe there is more to it then that?As for GSX I recommend it as it just works without messing about with credits and compatible airports like AES not that AES is bad but I can see that getting expensive. GSX is not without a few quirks but it seems well supported and patches right within FSX without messing up what you are doing.
  24. I'm really new to jet flying. I have been messing about mostly VFR with prop planes in FSX since it came out. Looking to expand my interest I asked the question over at the A2A forums about a suitable jet to fly that was well modelled (the A2A planes had already spoiled me). The recommendation was that the PMDG 737 NGX would be a good choice. I took the plunge fairly recently and brought a boxed copy from Amazon here in the UK and I haven't regretted it at all. Now I am very intrigued about this FS2Crew which I have no experience with. My NGX has already made me buy several addons like radar contact, Aivlasoft EFB, GSX/AES as well as sort out a second PC now linked to my primary FSX machine. I am a complete noob but enjoying it all the same. I guess with so many people here drooling over FS2Crew then that should be my next purchase for the NGX?
  25. Can I chime in and say I want the SDK so that an ipad app can be used to control the CDU :-P Said app pulled the support waiting on the SDK. But in the mean time I still have a lot to learn about the NGX as I'm new to jet liners and procedural flying. NGX is the only thing taking me away from A2A stuff at the moment.
