  1. Re: CNN video, as I expected, the Dr. accidentally hit his face while resisting arrest. No one beat him up.
  2. Imagine that, some one with sense and reason. Indeed well written article that most foaming at the mouth will never read or will totally scoff at.
  3. Has anyone seen any news interview or report with several of the other passengers to get a full and true view of what happened? >1. Never lose sleep over people, let them lose sleep instead Isn't this very selfish and inhumane or am I not understanding it properly?
  4. Or maybe he's a genius. After seeing overbooking procedures from his other flights, it's possible he has thought about this situation before hand, and should it arise, has planned this 'act of defiance' well ahead of time. You know, similar to Russian and Chinese people that are captured on car cams faking being hit by a car in the street. United definitely has things to answer to but that is expected in big business. What I don't expect is disrespect for authority that is happening more and more. Again, I would expect this resisting arrest from some young punk, not an elderly, intelligent gentleman. Or maybe as Ron suggests, gentlemen are a rarer thing nowadays.
  5. Nah. I'm much less defending United than I am against the guy's actions. Will be interesting to see how everything ends up.
  6. <snip most of quality post> Thing that gets me is the guy is 69 and as noted, has been in some trouble before. I would of thought he'd be wise, respectful and have common sense by this age of his. Also, I too would like to know how he got back on the plane a 2nd time. Maybe he was let back on to grab his carry on items?
  7. Depending on the terms and conditions of the ticket contract, I can very well see the possibility of the doctor being sued for this incident, causing the bad PR and resulting loss of United income. As others have stated, better handling of the situation could of been instigated. It's never a good idea to go up against the legal authority in a physical fashion.
  8. Personally, I think the man was in the wrong. This assumes he was to be put up in a hotel by United for the night to catch the next day's flight. http://www.cnn.com/2017/04/10/travel/passenger-removed-united-flight-trnd/index.html
  9. The change is prettier but as others have said, the functionality is much worse. My biggest complaint is the massive amounts of wastes screen space. I come here to read and type, not scroll and click.
  10. Well it is neat that they are out there but unless we find a way to overcome the vast distance in a shorter time, we'll never truly know.
  11. It's funny. I was all excited about the Connie but after watching a few videos, it doesn't look like they added any extra features that the B377 doesn't already have. I was hoping for some sort of detailed inspection process coupled with maintenance and interactive repair additions.
  12. Nice. I'll wait for several patches then treat myself.
  13. ?? A2A's home page does not suggest this plane is out for purchase?
  14. How on earth did they not see they were low on fuel? Wouldn't some sort of warning pop up on the screens?
  15. I had no idea these games even existed. Thanks for the info, going to have to look into them when I get a chance.
  16. Blockbuster or the video store - It use to be our main date night, going out, getting some food, spend 20 min. strolling the video isles, seeing the people in the store and finally agreeing on what video to take home and watch. Netflix or streaming is absolutely sole-less in comparison. My dad - He's been gone 11 months, really wish I had more moments with him. Effortless living - When a kid, you have zero cares or worries; it was all about fun and friends. Privacy - Can't swing a dead cat without hitting a camera. People are everywhere at all times nowadays it seems.
  17. We have wonderful and interesting times nowadays that I'm sure most here do appreciate. But with mostly seasoned people in these forums, I wonder about the title question. It can be one thing, or several.
  18. Using 'run as admin' during install? Perhaps setting a compatibility mode for the install disc file? Last resort, I have not tried this, but perhaps creating a mountable backup iso clone of your FSX disc would work?
  19. Anytime you travel somewhere Elite loads; loads the planet, loads the star system, loads the area. The game is constantly broken up into play areas in between loading. Evochron Legacy handles this much more seamlessly. There still is loading but it is less than a second.
  20. Just a quick heads up... I bought Elite Dangerous and wish I didn't. It's very console design driven and the constant loading interruptions become annoying fast. Instead I now consistently play Evochron Legacy when I want a space sim fix. Seemless flight from space to planet and instant loading when traveling. There is a free demo btw.
  21. Considering the virtually unlimited funds, the delays and slow progress sets a definite negative precedence in my book. I am interested in the single player portion of the game but only when it is done and has a nice, lengthy, bugfree, proper campaign.... so 3 years from now essentially. <sic>
  22. Weird. Can't say I ever ran into or heard of this. Then again, I don't think I'd have the patience to wait 8 minutes for the issue to correct itself, so I'd probably have reset FSX before then.
  23. I was a young boy traveling with my parents and don't remember the first. What I do remember very clearly is the god awful amounts of cigarette smoke that hazed the entire plane interior the whole time. There was no escape from it. Man, I hated that. Unlike the slobs of today, I also remember people dressed up real nicely and were very chic.
