  1. So much for sight seeing, might as well watch a movie on the laptop.
  2. From how I see it, if you have FSX, P3D is just an upgrade. X-Plane is a completely different and interesting piece of software. I vote X-Plane since P3D is too 'same-y' but I would wait and purchase ver. 11.
  3. Are there common times where parked airport traffic is most prolific? If so, what times are they and do these times universal apply in all time zones at all airports?
  4. Very artistic. <thumbsup> I suppose the reflection prohibits other viewpoints.
  5. Old thread but I was kind of shocked to get an OOM error. I NEVER get them but did for the first time in over a year while flying at 5000ft over southeastern Canada at night. I don't do much night flying and am surprised to learn night flying is actually harder on ones system. I guess all those city and street lights do add up.
  6. Since so little info is known about this 'next' sim, not sure what questions would properly pertain to it. For now I would ask, is this 'next' sim building upon FSX like P3D and Flight, or more of a complete departure like X-Plane?
  7. Reminds me of the Hyundai horsepower lawsuit, ooh, that 4% horsepower deficit is really going to be missed. All seems a bit silly but the honesty stick does need to be brought out in order to prevent a slippery slope.
  8. Looks nice. Would be great to see side by side comparisons with Ultimate Terrains offerings.
  9. It's momentous enough to create an 'upgraded', fully featured, next gen version of FSX but you also want them to fully incorporate Air Hauler and FSPassengers into the sim? That is asking quite a bit IMO. It could be done if they simply patch up FSX but that's kind of what FSX:SE is.
  10. Excellent video. Where is the push-back goat to turn that plane around?
  11. I think I figured out the issue of excessive overhauls = don't crash land the plane. I ran out of fuel these last few flights and landed in woods and field. Best as I can tell A2A B377 actually pays attention to that and destroys the engines even if you land well in a field. Did several good landing flights and engines in great shape still. Still no solution to the loud cabin shake noise. :( Aside, just yesterday had a problem where Heidi and the pilots didn't speak any more. I spent a good hour trying to figure out what happened to the sound. I tried different hardware settings in the menu, reinstalled files, searched the forums, phew. I finally figured it out. LOL, turns out this is the only reason they weren't talking...
  12. Frame rate must of been snail like. Pretty pics though.
  13. It's still a great, fast card, even if a small part of the memory doesn't get fully and properly utilized.
  14. I'd start by asking did this occur since day one? Or has something you recently installed on your PC brought this on?
  15. Is there something common one can overlook that will cause each ~200nm flight to require all the engines to need an overhaul? Really, <2hours on the clock and engines won't start or idle smoothly?! I'm letting the artificial flight engineer manage Pressurization and Turbos for me. All temps are ok during my flights. I'm not going over torque psi. ADI is on. I only switch to lean once in cruise. I'm normally cruising at about 10000ft with 200 knots speed. Also, I'd like to turn down the volume of the cabin shake/rattle noise during taxi acceleration and takeoffs. I do own Accu-Feel but that appears to be greyed out; I assume this A2A plane has its own 'built in 'accu-feel' and does not require the addon Accu-Feel so they disable it. Is there anyway to keep other volumes where they are and lower the cabin shake noise somehow? Sound files appear to be hidden inside a .pk file and no way to edit them. FWIW, the outstanding newly released freeware C-47 V3 by Manfred Jahn also has this annoying cabin shake/rattle noise. I appreciate what both these planes are trying to achieve with this racket but I just prefer my planes to be a bit more quiet is all.
  16. It's not uncommon. Many detailed or complex planes have issues with much more than 2x. I just stick with shorter distance flights. For long flights I use the ConcordeX.
  17. Someone at Dovetail does not know customer relations. If I were Dovetail, I would immediately take down that survey and redo it. You can get your answers but with more and much shorter question/answers. Those drag and drop questions are totally beyond what most people are willing to do. I gave up also.
  18. Nice repaint. Is there a place to download liveries for the plane?
  19. The quick answer is most likely, no. The long answer is we need more info. CPU? Number of monitors? Resolution used? Addons?
  20. Indeed. We need a Google exec that loves flying and flight sims to make this happen. Some sort of module that could inject this into X-Plane 11 with VR or something would be awesome.
  21. Quite different. Nothing like a runway right off the back porch.
  22. Yikes, I was half expecting him to do an immelman on take off. Would of been fun to be a passenger during that.
  23. I wanted to make a separate post of additional options... Ability to easily export or print all currently set keyboard and joystick assignments. Feature where you can select what settings get reduced on the fly (to maintain a pre-selected arrival area frame rate) as you approach and land at busy airports. VR support. VAS crash prevent-er option. Not an option, more of an addition, but autogen slider for people at airports. Better crash detection. Friendlier and frame rate faster multi-monitor support.
  24. IMO.... Edits and tweaks are a bother; all setting, options or adjustments should be a'plenty, in the game menus with basic and advanced choices. Also the range of these settings should not be artificially limited; give us a low zero setting and give us a 'you will see 2 fps' setting. Steady frame rate is the ultimate goal. Fast frame rate with stutters is worse than steady, consistent low frame rate. We all have edited and can provide flight sim edits but see my first paragraph; I don't want to edit in future flight sims. (I'm guessing nearly all other don't want to either.) FWIW, the edits are all well documented in the Avsim Config Guide and CTD Guide on the front page.
  25. My upgrade to Win10 has shown it to be much less stable with FSX than my Vista64 install. Only thing that helps, but doesn't cure, this instability is to make all .exe 'run as admin' in their properties. If you don't need it don't worry about it, but if you do for some reason, go ahead.
