The near double frame rate difference is massive for such similar settings. I agree there is some large underlying cause for such a difference. Please let us know what you find out.

I'd be curious to know this as well. More variety in voices and words spoken is definitely needed. List of 2015 improvements would be appreciated. With the developers history, I'm guessing nothing has changed at all hardly and it's just a FSX SE/P3D money grab.

HTC Vive + P3D + Flyinside = Mind Blown!
VeryBumpy replied to Andreas Stangenes's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
Everywhere I read, the #1 complaint about VR is the low'ish resolution. I would love to try VR for a few days but then return it and wait for the Gen2 or Gen3 version with improved resolution in 10 years time. Oh well. -
Not trying to be rude but without before and after shots, I can't really see any difference? I thought the Airbus X looked fantastic inside 'out of the box'.

I'm pretty sure that is the exact model I use. I'll have to double check when I get home. I love mine. Great in all aspects. One small quibble is that in standby mode (computer off, tv on) the screen constantly displays 'no input' so the screen never truly goes off unless the tv is off. 2nd small quibble is that with very specific patterns on the screen, a high frequency tone can be heard. I first noticed this with a zoomed out Excel spreadsheet grid pattern.

So the VR people have this feature called Asynchronous Timewarp. From videos of people using it and reading about it, it is like voodoo magic, greatly increasing appeared frame rates. Why isn't this available to other low frame rate games on a desktop PC? Edit: Just wanted to add, this is apparently no tech to sneeze at. Frooglesim showed it improving frame rates from a start of 30 fps, then it turned the 30 fps into 90 fps!!!

Love the 1st one.

pta or ultimate realism pack for fsx ?

I have no clue what either of these 2 things you listed are? -
"You moved from FSX to X-Plane? .... Why?"
VeryBumpy replied to JYW's topic in The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
I would hope the frame rate and smoothness would tell more. X-Plane looks very nice indeed but it's draw to me would be the lack of OOM and it not being CPU limited. -
Not sure what answer you are expecting. There are no documented crashless addon combinations. Every computer is different. If you have issues, there is lots of help to be had in the CTD forum.

Many good ideas or issues to salivate over in here. Regardless of what Frooglesim thinks with how great or exciting the current sim landscape is, I have severe doubts a complete, full featured sim will ever get done in our lifetimes. The bean counters will always prevent this from happening IMO.

Intel CPU's for 2016
VeryBumpy replied to MarkW's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etc
Just dreaming here but it would be cool if AMD came out with a FSX specific CPU for us simmers that somehow fooled FSX that it was an equivalent to 7GHz. -
Any way to monitor slow loading FSX time?
VeryBumpy replied to VeryBumpy's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
Before I try it, does PM log or show the load time of each or will it simply show everything that is loaded? -
From what I understand, slow FSX loading times are from a lot of simobject airplanes and addon scenery. Only removing them speeds up loading times, disabling does NOT. There are programs out there that can log Windows boot loading times to find out where the delays most occur. Is there anything similar for FSX? Is such a program possible? A HDD monitor program running in the background perhaps? It would be nice to pinpoint or see where and which files/directories the actual loading delays more so come from.

I have this at 200% within Windows but it does not work in FSX. Win10 automatically checks the "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" checkbox each time I start FSX. This does work as long as I'm in windowed FSX. I have Magnify.exe bound to a key on my keyboard to start the magnified feature then can quickly turn it off with Winkey+Esc.

Thanks for all the comments. I'll leave 1 last one, today didn't go so well but I got an applause on landing.

Don't know you OP but every good, productive sole deserves support. Uplifting (get it?), positive thoughts headed your way.

Northern Germany to Southern Austria in a Tupolev

Great, difficult, study plane to master. Sort of wish A2A or PMDG would do this plane.
