I would start with this

I've ordered quite a bit through PCAviator through the years. I've had no issues to speak of. Hope they stay a solid and decent e-seller.

Aerofly FS 2 - Vulkan graphics API update
VeryBumpy replied to a topic in Aviation and Flight Sim Video Forum
Jeez this sim visually looks fantastic. I didn't take time to watch much of the videos. So what kind of frame rate change is there with and without Vulkan? -
I'd venture to guess you are looking at the Milvis Beaver not the Aerosoft Beaver X. Regardless, the DX11 specs are most likely referencing towards Prepared3D, not FSX. Either way, if you are running Win7 or greater, you already have DX11 installed by default. As far as Steve's DX10 Fixer, it does just that. It allow FSX to run in DX10 mode with much better compatibility and fixes many texture issues that surface when trying to run FSX in DX10 mode.

A bit too vague, OP. I'm not sure I understand what 'recommendations' you are looking for? Install sequence or tips? New addons? What?

Where are the addons?
VeryBumpy replied to ryanbatc's topic in The X-Plane General Discussions Forum
Thank you. I know of one more, PMDG DC-6. -
Where are the addons?

Study sim level, like A2A, FlightSimLabs quality. $110 to $60. -
Where are the addons?
VeryBumpy replied to ryanbatc's topic in The X-Plane General Discussions Forum
This is the closest thread I could find. Is there any comprehensive list of available quality airliner and airplane addons anywhere? -
Pretty much this^^^ and the fact that no one wants to lose current features. Newer sims are better but often lack several current features people are reluctant to do without. Its akin to electric cars. I'd love one but range, recharge stations and prices prevent me (and I'm guessing many others) from making the switch.

As of today, does anyone know if all these 'win10 updates vs FSX addon' issues been resolved?
-
For years I've been wanting this in FSX, seems FSDreamTeam may finally deliver animated people boarding the plane. They are calling it "GSX Level 2 expansion" which seems to amount to BOTH animate people and their SODE jetway(at any and all) airports Lots of details and questions on how comprehensive this will be but I will be keeping an eye on it for sure.

Wow, that's a lot of planes in the air.

FSX on 4k TV
VeryBumpy replied to bgyuk's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etc
Many use a 4k TV, including myself. See the hardware forum. It's great btw, everything is so crisp and sharp, including gauges, you almost don't even need to use anti-aliasing. -
I looked into that site when I was on a temporary mission to learn and buy an ultralight. I quickly lost interest due to the hassle of plane storage, and being in WI, only being able to fly it 6 months of the year.

Just a heads up if you happen to come across unexplained fsx.exe crashes as of recent, it might be due to this Win10 update. It is definitely causes issue with the Concorde X, so it is conceivable that our sim could be affected with other aircraft or addons also. This is a straightup, immediate crash once the plane almost or just finishes loading. There is a thread about it here: https://forums.flightsimlabs.com/index.php?/topic/13725-notice-on-win10-kb4038788/ That thread also mentions P3D issues also: http://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=126667

This. Ideal Flight makes decisions for you based on criteria and the flight plan is very comprehensively laid out. Does lots more too.

What do you think the future of flightsims will be?
VeryBumpy replied to John_Cillis's topic in Hangar Chat
Continued piecemeal, slow advancement, that's the flight sim future I see. Considering we are 11 years with FSX, I'm disappointed where we currently are - not a single flight sim has it all. -
P3D v4 PC Spec Advice
VeryBumpy replied to mattria's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etc
That is a very potent laptop, must be near fastest and best one can get. I'd add in a 500G SSD for the OS and programs, Then increase that 1BT to 2 or 3TB.
