  1. @JFK we have a temperature probe that looks like a little hand mic that is put into the cabin from the Jetway. Most of the time, the CS Agent puts it in a cool place, like right at the doorway where a little breeze could give a false reading, so the air-conditioning pushes in warmer air than it should. 2. We have HUD's only on the B737-800's at AA. BTW... the main reason why it's common for 737's to have HUD is to have a 3rd navigation system which is required to fly Cat III C. Most wide bodies already have 3 autopilots or nav systems incorporated to allow for Cat III C operations. Sent from my Sony Xperia TL
  3. Even though the hydraulic mule has 3000 psi, the volume is a lot less than what's available in the aircraft system when you use engine driven pumps and/or ADP's or ACMP's. Sent from my Sony Xperia TL
  4. Business Class seats are a pain to work on too... ^_^ Sent from my Sony Xperia TL I've never seen a 3/4/2 config in Y class, I've only seen 2/5/2 and 2/4/2 at the last few rows. And 3/4/3 on the 777-300.Sent from my Sony Xperia TL
  5. Been there, done that. I changed a hydraulic line on the LMG antiskid module, so a gear swing/leak check was required. The hydraulic line replacement doesn't require a gear swing, but this particular aircraft lost 50% of it's Left System Hydraulic quantity, so we were leak checking everything. 6. ...definitely the most difficult seats I've ever worked on. Way more advanced than anything the Captain or F/O would ever sit on in the Flight Deck! LOL Sent from my Sony Xperia TL
  7. Better not, would be unfortunate.Agreed! You'd flunk your Medical! :lol:Sent from my Sony Xperia TL
  8. I don't beg for fictionals.... I make my own. This was a Hawaiian Airlines repaint I made for the PSS 777-200LR. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
  9. We received the Service Bulletin a couple days ago at AA and will have the 4 affected aircraft of the 6 we currently have, GE90 powered B777-323ER's completed by Sunday 19MAY. Sent from my Sony Xperia TL

  11. We don't have EFB's at AA. Our Pilots use iPads, Maintenance uses Samsung Tab 2 10.1's & Flight Attendants use Samsung Galaxy Notes. http://www.neowin.net/news/american-airlines-replaces-paper-flight-manuals-with-ipads Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
  12. Might as well complain that the wings are too short as well! Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
  13. I usually don't have a lot of spare time available, so I'll probably do a lot of JFK/MIA, MIA/LAX & LAX/HNL flights. Or if I just want to get a few quick cycles, I'll fly MIA/MCO/MIA or HNL/OGG/ITO or KOA. Sent from my Sony Xperia TL
  14. They don't happen very often at all. This one was a case of a Ramp Rat not watching his Wingman during pushback. During Heavy Checks the APU exhaust is checked for cracks, wear, etc. That's when it can start getting expensive to replace them due to wear/cracking that is not found as often on straight exhausts. 15. Looks like it will be well worth the price. Sent from my LT30at
  16. At the time of designing the 777, the tail cone was "flattened" for better aerodynamics and less drag. However, due to costs of maintenance regarding the APU exhaust, the savings were found to be either minimal or just not cost effective at all. As you can see in this pic, a 777 wingtip took out the tail cone of this 777. The structural integrity of the APU exhaust was compromised and had to be replaced.... which cost a lot more than a straight duct monel exhaust. Sent from my LT30at
  17. Hydraulics weren't pressurized and one of the systems probably still had a little pressure on it, hence only one flaperon drooping. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2

  19. I'm also using FS9 only because I use the Posky/PSS Merge 777-200 as my daily driver. However, once the PMDG 777 becomes available, I'm sure that I'll be reinstalling FSX! Sent from my LT30at using Tapatalk 2
  20. For us at AA, the difference is primarily for deferred maintenance items. All ETOPS PDSC's (Pre Departure Service Checks) are done to the highest level, but whatever MEL items are on the plane determines if the plane can make the ETOPS trip or not. If we have an APU INOP, it knocks the plane down to 180 min. for us. (Yes, we can still fly ETOPS without an operable APU at AA, but only 180 min). Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
  21. My fave is the AA ONE World. AC 7AY! Sent from my LT30at using Tapatalk 2
  22. Anytime I receive a new plane, I normally try a short flight to try out all phases of flight quickly... like HNL/OGG or something like that. Sent from my LT30at using Tapatalk 2
  23. In all likelihood, I'll base mine in JFK... where I work on 777's IRL. Me getting ready to taxi a 777. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
  24. I for one am just happy that an excellent and proven simulation company like PMDG is making the 777. The only 777 I found worth flying was the Meljet or Posky with a PSS flight deck for FS9. So I'm patiently waiting for a better product for FSX. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
