1. Thanks, handen for the update. It certainly sounds like it could be a great program for flight simulation.
2. Sorry, I am just a little bit skeptical about any company surfacing out of nowhere and making amazing claims on facebook. If this is legit, it would be a nice utility, but who knows if it is just a scheme to get into your computer and "hunt" for things.
3. This is a link to a facebook page that has been active for 4 hours or so, and no names of the persons behind this amazing piece of software. You would think someone would have more info about them.
4. I believe you need to send the flight plan to your simulation platform (FSX, P3D) for ASN to import it to their system. My path is (User)\MyDocuments\P3D v4 files. Should be the same path for FSX, except change the last part to "FSX files".
5. I am a casual simmer, so I don't necessarily get every add on for a flight sim platform. I have had the Q400 in FSX, P3D v3 and now in P3D v4. I do not have MCE or FS2Crew installed for any aircraft. I work off the checklist that Majestic has for the plane, and it works fine for me. IMHO, I would start with the checklists, then if you find the workload too much or want to automate some of the functions, consider one of those add-ons. I find the thing I occasionally miss is setting the bleeds, but I am getting better at that.
6. Not being one who wants or has the skill to spend endless time fiddling with settings in a sim; and never having obtained PTA, this seems like it could be a worthwhile investment for me.
7. Thanks, Jose for the change log. I probably do have 1.0.1.1, bit will double check the revision number In my instance, I do use the speed placard to hide the yoke, but clicking it merely creates a millisecond disappearance of the yoke, then it reappears. That did not start with me until the latest version of the CRJ. Dave and the chocks/APU is a sometimes works, sometimes doesn't thing. In my experience, the longer I sit with the aircraft at the gate, Dave decides to take a "nap" and not wake up. And what is this thing about completely loading a default aircraft at some gate, then changing to the CRJ? That seems like a FS9 holdover.
8. I unfortunately have not had such a good experience with the CRJ, yet. I bought the initial release, updated to the (c) patch, then 1.00.1. I guess there is something in my system (Win 7, P3D v4.0) install, but I did not have that yoke not disappearing problem until I installed the latest version of the CRJ. I can live with the NAV tracking issue for now, the discrepancies between the CRJ Load manager vs. Dave; but when the NAV selector source cannot be accessed because I cannot hide the yoke, I cannot get Dave to disconnect GPU and remove the chocks, that parked it for me. I still have it, waiting for those issues to be fixed. Unfortunately for me, the Aerosoft forum seems somewhat dismissive, but that may be a language translation problem.
9. Mine work fine. After you calibrate them using MFG's bootloader, go into your sim and calibrate the pedals to the sim platform in settings, then apply it in the sim (forgive me if you already did this). I do find I may have to use a little differential braking on the ground for sharper turns.
10. Looking forward to the release. This is one of 2 aircraft that keeps FSX installed on my computer.
11. I agree v4 is a much improved platform for flight sim, but i still have a copy of FSX installed for the DH8D, QW 757 and the E-175. Hopefully some of these aircraft will be updated to run in v4 soon, and QW gets the 787 running for v4.
12. I do not own their product, so I cannot speak to quality. People that have them think they are excellent. However, you might want to consider that they take your money up front (and whoever at Ace can correct me if i am wrong) before even building the yoke or preparing for shipment. Some most people seem to have waited months and months for it to come through (there are several posts on this forum). IMHO, this is a 1 man shop and probably a side job, so when life does not get in the way, he can build them. Seems life gets in his way a lot. This is not unique to flight sim products, it is prevalent in all "boutique" operations. Pay your money, take your chances.
13. Well for $50 it is a very nice aircraft, but not in the current iteration. They need to (probably are) working on bugs in the LNAV system, which cannot track well between waypoints somewhere over 150 miles apart, GSX does not communicate all that well with the aircraft doors and some glitch with hiding the yoke. The manuals need some proofreading/ correction. I have not even tried the HGS, because I still cannot figure out the input system on the lower pedestal. Once they resolve those issues, it could be a really nice aircraft to fly. I find the DH8D-Q400 an easier bird to fly (probably because of prop vs. jet engines). Just waiting for Majestic to roll it out. I also would like to see the Embraer 175-195 series pushed out for v4.
14. Well as long as we have a wish list, I would like to see the Embraer E-170 to E-195 jets.
15. I do not know about that issue, but Hi-Fi Simulations (the software author) has a great support forum and I have found they respond very quickly
16. You might want to check your cloud texture sizes in ASCA. I think it defaults to 2084, I rolled my settings back to 512, really don't see a difference in clouds and much easier on the computer. If you run ASP4, try 3 layers and see how that combination works.
17. Hi Dave, I did not, as I was following the instructions from Poppet, then tried the Lorby tool but it didn't work for me. I decided to go with Ultimate Traffic Live and so far I like how it's working. I didn't have to screw around with trying to do a bunch of work-arounds to get MT6 in v4.
18. I just switched from v3.4 to v 4 this week and so far I find much improvement. System: 4790K 4.0GHz, GTX 1070FTW, 16GB RAM, Win 7 pro The sim runs much smoother on my system at high end airports with ORBX regions ( was getting 45 fps at KSFO HD), scenery extending out much farther. I keep autogen at a moderate range, along with vegetation. I do not think I see much higher CPU usage and temps around 60 on air. I tried dynamic lighting at FSDT KIAH with 737 NGX, that definitely will run your video card to the limit, but it was cool seeing the service vehicle headlights illuminating the ground and the aircraft when they drive up. I think I will see if I can make 2 separate profiles, one for night and one for day. I think I will need to dial back a lot more autogen, shodows, etc to use dynamic lighting without maxing the video card.
19. I'm an old fart and computer challenged, too! Are you are having issues with just ORBX airports? I am not sure they are fully compatible with v4 yet (but then again, I don't own any ORBX airports, just their Global, regions and Open LC).
20. Which part are you looking for specifically? Installation folder C:\Prepar3D v4 My Flight plan folder is C:\Users\(name)\Documents\Prepared3D v4 files (I did not install P3D to program files). Scenery config C:\Program Data\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4
21. Thank you for taking the time to review and respond, Oliver. I have decided to forego MyTraffic6 and switch to Ultimate Traffic Live (which seems to work pretty well in P3D v4) Best regards, Steve
22. Thanks Oliver. I am still confused (but I am old and easily confused) I have been trying top post an image of the message I have been getting, but I guess the screen shot is too large. I have MyTraffic on my "D" drive and v4 on my "C" drive. This is what the Document looks like: <SimBase.Document Type="AddOnXml" version="4,0" id="add-on"> <AddOn.Name>MyTraffic6</AddOn.Name> <AddOn.Description>MyTraffic6.</AddOn.Description> <AddOn.Component>
D:\MyTraffic Professional\MyTraffic\Aircraft </AddOn.Component> <AddOn.Component>
D:\MyTraffic Professional\MyTraffic
<Layer>178</Layer> </AddOn.Component> </SimBase.Document> When I check the error message, it says there is some problem with encoding errors. I have delete the scenery until I figure this out.
23. I have been trying to install MyTraffic in v4, trying to use Poppet's initial guide (that didn't work for me), then tried using the Lorby Add on tool, and still no joy. What the heck am I doing wrong? Any gurus than can help? Thank you!
