    2D Cockpit.?

I think it has a 2D panel, except for the main panel. And perhaps overhead and pedestal. They are maybe not available, too
  2. Maybe some day in the future, when FSX is still the standard "platform" for virtual aviation and every modern airliner will be available as a proper add-on, it's time to make classic beauties like the 741, L1011, DC-10 ...
  3. I am very happy to join the baptism of the first plane D-ALFA in October. ^_^
  4. Another question after watching some screenshots: Does it have an ADF? Will I be able to perform NDB-Approaches? [Edit]: Nevermind, seems to be customizable as on some screenshots there are ADF's. Strange, as I always thought that ADF's are a must have IFR equipment.
  5. No problem for an Airbus as the door opens by swinging to the outside. In fact, due to the pressure difference, after unlocking the door it opens itself completely. There have been several accidents with ground workers due to that which is why it is very very important to open the door only if the engines are off. Last month I have attended an accident investigation where a ground worker tried to open the door of an Airbus with running engine #2 from the outside and he was thrown off the stair by the swinging door. The result were serious injuries. Anyway I don't want to go offtopic too far.
  6. Just think about a balloon or a blimp. At has much more strength with an overpressure in it... The same way it works in an airplane.
  7. Will there be a Lufthansa Cargo (GEC) Paint in the initial release as Lufthansa Cargo will introduce their first 777F in October?
  8. About your question about the cabin pressurization and weight on wheels: I am not completely sure how it's in the 777 but on Airbus planes the cabin pressure on ground and in flight is always at least 0,7kPa higher than the outside pressure to stiff up the fuselage. So a weight on wheels command during landing shouldn't influence the cabin pressure. Only if weight on wheels and engines off apply the same time, the cabin will depressurize immediately.
  9. Sorry but I did not mean a boxed version in any way. I was only asking about a downloadable version. And it is fully understandable that PMDG wants to get maximum profit and want us to buy their products in their shop. But to be honest I care more about how I can save my hard-earned money while buying their products than thinking about if 90%, 95% or 100% of my paid money goes to PMDG. If the conditions are the same I will always buy a product direct from the developer. But if there was a web shop like simmarket or amazon which offers me a 20% discount, I would buy it there.
  10. Good evening everyone (or afternoon, depending on where you are) at first: sorry for adding one more topic to this big 777 forum but I have no clue where else to ask this. So my question: Where can we expect the 777 to be available and how long after the initial release? What I mean is something like: Maybe 24h after release in PMDG's webshop it will be available on amazon and just flight for download. I ask because I still have some amazon gift vouchers and just flight loyalty points and it would be nice if I could use one of these to purchase the 777. It would be worth waiting if the time frame between release in the PMDG webshop and release on amazon and co. was something like less than a week or so. What are your experiences with previous releases? Any official comment on that? Thanks in advance for every response.
  11. Peter is right, my post wasn't clarifying enough.
  12. The name Flaperon comes from Flap + (High Speed) Aileron. So it's not only a highspeed aileron, it also has the function of a flap. On an Airbus it's called Aileron Droop. So Flaperon is Boeing only term.
  13. Concerning the Flight Envelope Protections: As far as I know, the flight envelope protections in the 777 prevent the aircraft from gaining dangerous attitudes by very strong force feedback on the yoke, and in some cases I think the pilots command is even reduced (overspeed protection). But as many of us flight simmers don't use yokes with force feedback (I don't know if there even is one to buy on the market), how do we get to feel the protections? I can imagine, that this is very hard to implement and still have a realistic behavior of the plane. Last but not least, there are two very special features of the 777's fly by wire system, of which I would like to know, if they are implemented: -Overspeed Protection during upside-down flight (funny but according to the Aircraft Manual there is such a thing) and -Wheel to Rudder Cross Tie Function, which allows a correction of the track (for example during take-off run) by only using the yoke, not the rudder pedals, up to 8° Thanks in advance for your answers.
  14. @ AJ What zoom factor do you use in your virtual cockpit during the preview? Thanks in advance.
  15. It reminds me of a freeware Ilyushin 86 for FS2004, which had this feature with glowing break disks first time implemented. Nice to see, that finally PMDG picked that up.
  16. I am watching it right now and: YES! This is perfectly done! Very nice crew, fantastic views (especially the nose gear view, looking backwards) and it provides a very nice insight about how to fly a 777. A must-have recommendation for everyone here in this very special forum.

    Livery list

Very nice, I am looking forward to fly in Turkmenistan more often by the time, the T7 will be released.
  18. That is very nice to read, because I was quite concerned about how the were about to implement it
  19. I hope, that the wing of the PMDG model will look better than the one on the calender Anyway, thank you very much for the post, Robert. It's always a great pleasure to read your exhilaratory and sometimes funny texts.
  20. That's nice. I will take three
  21. Will the PMDG 777 be freeware?
  22. I would say it like that, that the T7 has an autotrim system that keeps the speed constant. The pilot chooses a reference speed with his trim switches (either on the yoke or with the trim levers). This reference speed is displayed on the bottom left corner of the PFD. So at constant thrust a trimmed out plane flies leveld out (this is where the T7 is pretty much like a Cessna). Now, when the pilot increases the thrust, the plane tries to maintain the reference speed and will start a climb. The advantage of this system is the gust compression. If the plane flies through turbulences, no matter if during climb, descent oder level flight and is trimmed out, it will automatically find back to the initial path angle due to the reference speed system. Autotrim on an Airbus tries to block acceleration. So if an Airbus flies through turbulences, it will maintain the attitude that the plane has got due to the turbulences. So if it was during climb when turbulences occurred that threw the plane in a descent, it will maintain the descent. If there are any more questions, feel free to ask or check out my previously posted link.
  23. They should better make an Il-62, which looks very similar to the VC-10 but is the much better airplane ;-)
  24. It has an autotrim system that keeps the airspeed konstant, instead of the vertical acceleration like Airbus.
  25. Hey gents, check out the document which starts downloading 20sec's after entering the page. It will answer ALL your questions concerning Fly by wire on the T7. Boeing 777 Flight Controls Manual
