  1. Thanks for that Chocorua - that tells me I've done something wrong, though I'm pretty certain I installed that file. I'll just do it again, although that probably confirms I'm insane 🙂 Thanks again, Mark
  2. Hello all, Does anyone have Ernie Alston's ISG gauges working in P3D V5.3 ? They worked well in V4, but I'm not having any luck in P3DV5.3. I'm trying to use the Sky Simulations MD-11/10 - and of course the ISG gauges are a major improvement over those that ship with the models - but using the V4.4 config available off the ISG website P3D crashes instantly upon loading - and of course nothing shows up in the logs etc. to indicate what's causing it. When I revert to the default panel all is good. Any tips, suggestions, etc., will be greatly appreciated! I really want to enjoy the MD-11, but those lousy gauges (not to mention worse autopilot!) make it hard 🙂 Mark
  3. Just curious - you guys remember that Vector has a configuration app that allows you to change the level of detail to suit your PC ?
  4. Ray, Ignore this - I started rambling about Vector - instead of UTX... My presence here is denying a village of it's word not allowed! 🙂
  5. That's a good tip. I just bung the V4 (and even older!) stuff into V5 and if it looks ok, I just carry on. I never thought about adjusting anything...
  6. I flew into SBGR from Buenos Aries when I didn't have any issues, I'm going to go out on a limb and suspect KMIA will be okay as well. Only time I had those elevation issues was on flights over 10 hours duration... Fingers crossed it stays that way!
  7. Hi Martin, I've had that happen as well. I've got the same airport installed in P3D V5.3 - and didn't have the problem there, but I had it at different payware addon airports. It only seems to happen after very long flights, and as you mentioned, reloading the airport after the flight, all is well. I've no "real" idea what's happening, but my guess is that some calculations just don't get performed well after very long flights. I was lucky - when it happened to me the elevation difference between default and the payware was minimal, and it only looked like discoloured pavement... no hills and and valleys a la ORBX Vector gone rogue... It's frustrating, but so far it's only happened to me randomly, so nothing really to try to pin down.
  8. Drat! I'm out of ideas - you'll need someone with a bigger brain than mine to help out now. Sorry... good luck getting it fixed.
  9. That does look odd - why not head on over to Inibuilds and grab their dynamic lights fix for LFPG. They look much better. Installation is a piece of cake.
  10. I really don't know what I did - but I've got the VC working just fine. I didn't worry about the 64-bit sound fix, I don't really care if switches go "click" or not, as long as they do what they're supposed to do. I just finished a 2.5 hour flight, no problem, ILS approach, autobrake etc., all good. As I said above, I did end up changing some of the gauges in the cockpit with models from the DC-10 HD package. In the end, no idea why or how I got the VC working. I do have separate exterior/interior models - if the package doesn't come with those normally, I must have converted them with MCX.
  11. I've got them running in P3Dv5.3. I think I gave up on the original CLS installers, and purchased a copy of the updated version available at Just Flight. I remember having to do some messing around to get them going, but looking in the files right now I can't see anything that stands out. I "think" - could be mistaken, that I ended up replacing some of the cockpit gauges with those from the HD DC-10 (also former CLS) that they sell - but I stress that could be "false news"... I really only installed them to get some short-hump models into the game. They look pretty good - EA makes them dull and lifeless, but with EA off they still appear just fine.
  12. I was lucky enough to get to ride on BOAC's first revenue earning flight to Canada with their first 747. A Conway powered 707 was scheduled, but had a significant failure, and the 747 was brought in on extremely short notice. EGLL - CYYZ. They said it was a training crew, and I can still remember that the cabin crew had a heck of a time trying to close the overwing exit - which had been opened to let in some fresh air (it was silly hot for the UK that day). Finally, an incredibly impressive looking man with 4 rings on his sleeve came over to see what the problem was, had a good laugh, gave it a massive slam and pronounced all was well! Every single member of the crew were so proud of their new toy... That impressive man with the rings allowed this young kid to ride in the cockpit for a good part of the Atlantic crossing... "Look here" he said, pointing down out of the port side window. That dot down there is the 707 you would've been on... we left an hour after, and will arrive an hour sooner... "That's just one reason why we love this thing"... Apologies to the Moderator - but this story does have EGLL in it, and after Jon B's comment, I felt I just had to share...
  13. I got the JF VC-10 working in V5.3, if I remember correctly I copied the panel from the original version into the Pro version models and it worked. The smoke effects are positively weird though! Sadly, I decided to explore another app that came with my PC and it removed all add-on registry entries, so now all my JF aircraft are needing a re-install as their copy protection has kicked in...
  14. And here I was, hoping to find PBR models for the 757 🙂
  15. Ah! Go to your L2 GSX folder and turn off default jetways. That's not the menu available in-sim, that's one you have to find in using the start menu. Just search GSX - that one had me stumped for days.
  16. Regarding the Tropicalsim SAEZ - my jetways looked okay, at least I remember it being that way. Have you installed the exclusion available over on inibuilds ?
  17. Tim, Which SAEZ are you having trouble with ? I've installed Tropicalsim's version and it's working just fine.
  18. Great! I already have spent hours of my life watching the GSX passengers deboard, just think how many more hours of my life are going to disappear now! Thanks for the update!
  19. Tim, I've got all my FSX/earlier P3D LatinVFR (for example) airports running in P3Dv5.3 - some better than others, but as you said, it beats the same ole default airport. Very few didn't work, so if you've already got airports from past sims, just give them a try. My routine is to check to see if a new version specifically for V5 is available, and if yes, and I can afford it, I'll buy it. If not, I hit my stored files, dig up something from the deep, dark, ancient past, and install. If it works, terrific! If not, takes just a second to delete with Lorby's organizer 🙂
  20. I purchased that model the day it was released, and have had the AWOL pilots the entire time. I love the plane, but it's hangered. I've never found a solution - and yours is the first mention I've ever found that I wasn't alone with the problem! 🙂
  21. I just checked; no - there aren't any "panel.ini" files located within that folder.
  22. Yes, thanks, I noticed that. But for now I've parked it in the hangar; I'm tired of messing around instead of pretend flying. I'll go back to it when I feel like arguing with my PC again 🙂 Thanks to all for your help - it did make a difference!
  23. @micstatic Yes, I've uninstalled/re-installed all the versions I have available multiple times. I'm just about out of activations, and still haven't been able to use it. Which is odd - I've had this model for years, never had a single issue, but on this particular PC I've never been able to get it working. Seeing as though I'm the only person complaining, I suspect the issue is somewhere on my end...!
  24. @Adrian123 Thanks - yes it is, but that's the CPAN that doesn't work on my end. Rob said their should be an "updated CPAN" available in my account at Majestic, but there isn't. So I was hoping that it may just be available somewhere else 🙂 Cheers, and thanks!
  25. A gift is a gift. No need to try to understand the motives, we're not the one's having to make the decision. Aeroplane Heaven has supported all the various FS versions for as long as I can remember, they're definitely enthusiasts. But they have to eat too... hence their switch to MSFS. They could have simply binned all their FSX/P3D titles, but instead they've decided to spread the wealth so to speak. So I for one, will say a heartfelt "Thank You" to them. Mark
