  1. Agreed, but the Sky Simulations version filled the void - not nearly as well as the F1 Coosky DC-9 does, but there are models available. I just loaded the Sky Simulations DC-9 package for P3D and it works fine in P3D V5.2. I also noticed that they've re-released their free MD-10 model for paid customers who own their MD-11. I may be late to the party here, but that was a nice surprise!
  2. Hi Tim, I honestly don't know if the V3 freighter/ADV etc work - I never had the V4 version of any of them, so I went and purchased them all. So all I know, the V4 versions all work correctly - and I do strongly suspect that the V3 "additions" would work, but can't honestly say as I don't have the ability to try... I also just tried installing the McPhat Freighter addon to the DC-9 pack; it killed the panel in all the DC-9's... I had to re-install the Mega pack, and then manually added the 32CF model - and just used the regular DC-9 panel. All good again... I think I'm going to try the Sky Simulations DC-9's as well, heck, why not ? 🙂
  3. I added all the expansions for the CSim 737 - the 100, ADV, Freighter all work just fine. Mark
  4. I must have committed a stupid human trick then. I'm prone to those... 🙂 I'll give it another go. Funny, I usually expect CSim to lock out other sim versions. Nice of them for a change!
  5. Can I assume you've got the 732 running in P3D V5 ? I just tried installing it and got nowhere...
  6. I installed V5.2 a couple days ago, having decided not to put my copy of 4.5 on my new machine. Last night, I flew out of KJAC headed for KMRY at dusk in a rainstorm. When I picked my jaw up off the floor, I just kept repeating "oh wow"... I've never seen a flightsim look so good, and without the slightest stutter or hesitation - all sliders maxed. I've been around since the old FS9 days (if you discount all the Commodore 64 sims) and never, have I had an experience like that. Thanks Lockheed! Yes, MSFS will come to my machine once some more bugs are squashed, but for now, me and my thousands of dollars of addons are quite happy indeed with P3D. Mark
  7. Hmmm... I have all those other aircraft, but haven't installed them yet. Nice to know they should work. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess there won't be a fix. The 8's are another a/c that Aeroplane Heaven made for JF. They'd have to ask them to fix it...!
  8. Hi Tim, Yes - the JF DC-8 fuel system is borked! There was a post way back on their old forum outlining .cfg edits you could make to fix it, but I've lost that. You should be able to find it looking on their archived forum. Personally, whenever I used that a/c I simply cheat - open the fuel and payload tab during flight and move things around. In my tiny mind I'm playing flight engineer... Mark
  9. Ah, I see. I'm going to guess we're related then... I do that on something or other almost every single day! Cheers!
  10. Yes Coastaldriver, Most definitely a niche market - but it's just such a beautiful aircraft. I remember being a young lad, and a proud member of BOAC's "Junior Jet Club" - and being invited to come sit in the cockpit of the 707 in mid Atlantic. The pilot pointed out a VC-10 that left after we did - passing us high and wide, and at a rate that made it seem like we were sitting still. The VC-10 became my favorite aeroplane that day... from everything I've read, there "could" have been a market for them, but BOAC basically killed them by demanding the Super - which took a niche market to an entirely new level. But pretty... oh so pretty. And especially in those BOAC colours... ah, the good ole days! Cheers!
  11. Just a follow-up in case anybody is following along... I installed the original VC-10 "Jetliner" instead of the latest "Pro" edition; it loads, P3D opens, and the aircraft model flies perfectly. But... if you fly inside a cloud the fuselage becomes transparent in external views! All is good from inside the cockpit though. Once you're out of the cloud, the fuselage looks normal. It's the same sort of effect that used to happen if the copy protection wasn't working properly... so just stay inside the "office" and don't look at the pretty pictures and all is well 🙂 Mark
  12. Thanks very much to all - I truly appreciate the replies. I've got both the original model and the "Professional" - and it's the Pro variant that I had installed and resulted in the crashes. I never thought of trying the older model - thanks, I'm off to do that right away. Again, thanks for the help Gents!
  13. Tim, I suspect you've confused the VC-10 with the DC-8; Aerosoft and JF both have DC-8 models, only JF has made a VC-10 for P3D/FSX. Yes - the DC-8 works fine 🙂 VC-10 crashes P3D. Thanks for response, old jets are fun! Mark
  14. Hi all, I've just left a question over on the JF forum asking for an update on the VC-10 Pro and future P3D V5 use. Having said (typed) that, I'm wondering if any of the regulars (yes you, CHOCK) have managed to get the V4 model running in V5 ? In my case, it simply pushed P3D into La La Land and I end up having to CTL+ALT+Delete my way back to the desktop. It's such a shame, this aircraft would do nicely in V5 (opinion). So... any help out there ? Mark

  16. Check to see if you've got your Yaw damper on. Mark
  17. No, they're two different products. It's just that Reality XP uses the Flight1 wrapper system for online purchases. Many smaller 3rd party developers use the Flight1 system, but otherwise have no relationship with said company.
  18. Truly sad news, he'll be missed, surely. Condolences to his family, and all of us here who'll miss his daily posts, advice, and support. RIP Dear Sir.
  19. Just Flight has their Vickers VC-10, I'm pretty sure it works in V4.
  20. 1. Since my last report, your child has reached rock bottom and has started to dig. 2. I would not allow this student to breed. 3. Your child has delusions of adequacy. 4. Your son is depriving a village somewhere of an i.d.i.o.t. 5. Your son sets low personal standards and then consistently fails to achieve them. 6. The student has a 'full six-pack' but lacks the plastic thing to hold it all together. 7. This child has been working with glue too much. 8. When your daughter's IQ reaches 50, she should sell. 9. The gates are down, the lights are flashing, but the train isn't coming.. 10. If this student were any more stupid, he'd have to be watered twice a week. 11. It’s impossible to believe the sperm that created this child beat out 1,000,000 others. 12. The wheel is turning but the hamster is definitely dead. The first time I saw this was over 30 years ago; at the time, it was supposed to be quotes from RN Officers' annual fitness reports! What goes around, comes around! :)
  21. Hi, Try this link to find updated installers for the Dukes: http://realairsimulations.net/ Mark
  22. Dave M from Classic British Flightsim released a FS9 Oxford which is available at flightsim.com, just search the library for Oxford and you'll find it. Although an FS9 model, it works in FSX/P3D (V3 and lower) with just a few minor changes (outlined in the readme included within the download). Dave M makes great freeware models of many classic British aircraft, it's worth a look. Mark
  23. You can fix it, but it's a manual process... Open the texture file for the livery you want to use. Then use a paint program to edit the bmp file that is used for the left side of the fuselage (fuse1and2343l_t.bmp for the A340 models, and fuse1and2200l_t.bmp for the A330's). You'll have to add a dark grey pattern that matches the windows location to the alpha channel. Save the files and you will be able to see out of the VC. If you decide to try this - remember to back up you originals before you edit them. Much easier to fix mistakes that way. Mark
  24. Hi, The setting you want to change is actually located in the Aircraft.cfg file, not the panel config. Look for the following: [Views] eyepoint = 4.3, -1.35, 2.65 The numbers represent the Longitudinal, Lateral, and Vertical viewpoint in feet. Play with that - but don't forget to back up your original. Mark
  25. Hallo Kiki, If you prefer CTL-E for starting, you'd be better off with the 402. The start procedure for the 441 is a little more complicated (there's video's available to watch that detail the process). I've got both of them, and also Flysimware often gets "dinged" on forums for neat being as "pretty" as some other manufacturers, I've always enjoyed every one of their products. You won't be disappointed with the 402! Mark
