Yeah cyberpunk should be an absolutely fantastic game, that if it’s anything like as good as Witcher 3 will fully deserve goty awards. It’s amazing that a flight sim is even in the same conversation though really.

If they don’t do a massive sale within the first few weeks I think they will have missed a huge trick imho. Just based on how much this game is being discussed, there will likely be a very large player base for this early on. A very small amount of those people would look at a $140 add on and not think it’s a joke.

I haven’t tried it in an hdd, but I’d definitely recommend trying to use an SSD. Don’t forget that you are likely to need a lot less disk space than you might have used previously for other flight sims. For me, I don’t expect I’ll ever really install anything else other than new planes.

The thing I’m bearing in mind is that the people anal enough to bang on about very small inconsequential details, seem to be vanishingly small in comparison to the wave of optimism that seems to washing over this sim from a (surprisingly?) large proportion of ‘gamers’. On all the main gaming websites there is a lot of talk about how this is the first convincing look at the next generation of video games. I expect quite a lot of that group will diminish relatively quickly because I don’t think there has been much attention on keeping people engaged who aren’t already flight sim nerds (which I understand, and is fine).

Stupid clouds

Add-ins will be fine I think, at least the mainstream ones - I would imagine the marketplace will have parity between systems. im more interested to know what performance options there might be for The Xbox version, I.e can you choose to run it at 60fps+ at medium/ high, or 30fps at ultra - that sort of thing. Consoles have gradually started to introduce things like this in some games, whilst not moving too far away from one of the most appealing things about them - that you don’t have to spend 90% of your time thinking about and tweaking settings.

A lot of it is a result of the general type of people that flight sims appeal to. The other thing I don’t quite get at the moment is people getting excited (and getting their wallets prepared) for orbx releasing stuff before they’ve even played the game.

This game is going to be a massive hit by the looks of things.

Very surprising that people think this will ‘benefit’ add-on developers. For a few it may prove profitable if the game becomes less niche, but I would have though it’s shaping up to wreak havoc throughout the ad-on world. The only area I can see that will still thrive is additional planes, and maybe some gamification type add-ons.

Not to word not allowed on your cornflake, but I had a similar upgrade earlier in the week and it barely makes any difference in real world experience - aside from a smug grin when you do a speed test 🙂. im sure at some point in the future it will all make sense, but with 200mbps we were still able to watch 3 instances of 4K Netflix and download games quickly at the same time. You just notice the ‘donating’ server limits more now.

Some terrific bug fix news in there 🙂 sadly I haven’t been able to play this for the last week and a bit through insane workload, but rating to go this weekend.

Wrong continent

My broadband just got upgraded today to 1gbps. Unfortunately it was already 100 mbps so I’m not sure it will make any difference to msfs, so really this post is just about me bragging, thinking about it.

Can I say where my one in the last update is or will that spoil it (I would find it really difficult to place if I didn’t already know!). I guess you might be able to tell from the shape of the river...

I am kind of intrigued now. I remember when blogs first started to become a thing, and my favourite was this guy who had one called ‘the most boring blog in the world’ where he basically just listed at length the minutiae of each day. It was so ridiculous but strangely compelling.

Sure but can’t we just ask the question, make the point and then leave them to it. What the F would a forum be discussing all day?

The person who is making the claim needs to prove it, not the other way around. Basic jurisprudence.
