  1. Great, but I bet performance will be even worse now with all this stuff added.
  2. FSLabs is better, but MSFS is just a much richer experience IMO. Fenix generally fine, performance is heavy and VNAV still a little buggy. But I'm hopeful of fixes.
  3. Thanks for this. I will try to make some videos, but I have never done that before, so I will figure out the best way to do it, Best
  4. Yeah Windows on an M.2 and the sim and all addons on a separate M.2.
  5. For me, it more often that not breaks the 250kt at 10000 even when there are no altitude constraints beforehand, so it really could calculate enough time to decelerate. If I am constantly hugging the bottom of the speed window on descent I will often pop into selected at the same speed as managed. I would expect the engines to spool up and maintain the same path as calculated but with enough thrust to maintain the selected speed, instead it will sometimes give a new path with the green dot suddenly jumping and leaving me well off this new path. and too high if I go back in to managed mode at a later point, even if that managed speed is exactly the same speed as I’m doing in selected. If I’m managed mode when approaching a speed constraint I feel it often doesn’t decelerate quickly enough, it still seems to descend too much, and is indeed showing below the path, surely it should pitch up and stay on path which would also help it to decelerate to the speed constraint? (Similar to the 250/10000 issue.) Sometimes when there is a speed constraint there is no magenta dot on the ND, which I would expect to see indicating a change of attitude to change speed, usually to decelerate. Manually entering speed constraints also seem to completely screw up the path, and sometimes changes speeds further down the flight plan to ridiculous numbers such as 42kts. Decel point often seems too late. If there are constraints below 10000 at waypoints on the approach, 220kts for example, and then further waypoints before the decel point with no speed restrictions the aircraft accelerates up to 250 if still in managed mode, though I think the real aircraft may do this, and the approach needs to be activated manually, and then selected speed until ready to go to green dot. But I’m nervous about switching between the two, as have I’ve mentioned above, often it will recalculate the path when switching between the two and leave you quite off profile. Of course just my observations, though I do average above 6 hours a day in this aircraft in the sim. I wouldn’t spend so much time using it if it wasn’t enjoyable and so none of this is me criticising just trying to give any useful information, and of course if I am incorrect in any of my assumptions, I will be glad to learn something that I am doing wrong. Thanks once again for a wonderful aircraft.
  6. Oh yeah all told, in my opinion, the PMDG 737 is hands down the best airliner for MSFS, the reliability of the systems and the performance combined is just awesome. Yes there are minor niggles, but nothing compared to its main competitor.
  7. Thanks, just in a flight in the 737 when I’ve finished gonna fire up the Fenix and have an experiment. It will be interesting to see what happens if the software that was mentioned on another thread here about being able to have a dynamic TLOD works. I just find anything less than 250 extremely unsatisfactory in the sim these days as you can really see the edge of the detailed terrain and it just looks nasty in my opinion. But all performance issues are on the ground, where TLOD is less important visually, so it would be incredible if that software worked and could really reduce the TLOD a couple hundred feet above the runway so it was nice and smooth on final approach and when on the ground taxiing or at the stand... But the buggy vnav still kind of puts me off the Fenix even disregarding the performance sadly.
  8. All ULTRA , 1440p standard widescreen, inibuilds EGLL is major stutter when panning the camera. I only have a 3070 but still seeing main thread limited in places like EGLL. DD KEWR is an absolute no go.
  9. I would love to fly the Fenix but also the FPS is just so bad compared to the PMDG it is just not worth it, and I'm on a 5800X3D which some say is the best CPU for MSFS. The managed descent in the Fenix is also pretty unreliable, it cannot cope with changing speed constraints, frequently the path is incorrect, decel in the wrong place, the path will change when going to selected speed when if this is the same as managed speed it should stay the same, it doesn't give enough time to slow to a speed constraint, if there are no altitude constraints it should be able to do this perfectly as there are no other factors determining when in can shallow the decent to slow, but still it will burst these constraints, same with the 250/FL100, if there are no constraints before this it can slow down in enough time, but still smashes through it. These and the poor performance really make it not enjoyable for me to fly such a shame.
  10. Would be interesting to know what kind of things people do with the filters. I used to use them heavily, but have since dialled back a bit, I use my monitor on cool tone, as I can configure the colours better on the monitor than in the filters, would be temperature on the colours filter, but mine leaps straight to -10 and I reckon I would like -5, so now leave at 0 and let monitor do it. I think MSFS is too warm, yellow clouds etc. I also have vibrance -10 on here. I used to use a slight red/pink tint as well (Tint Colour 20%), but again don't seem to need this after changing monitor settings. On Brightness and Contrast I used to remove dampen highlights, reduce gamma and increase contrast, now I just increase contrast a little (different gamma mode on monitor takes care of gamma). Then details fliter, I reduce clarity a fair bit (-40%).
  11. Not a way I know of, just need to write them down and remember them sadly.
  12. It would be amazing if we could set the dynamic TLOD on AGL altitude as well as fps range like in previous sims.
  13. Yes the difference is clear I agree. it depends on the terrain around you, for example if you are in flat wooded land, you can easily see where the trees stop rendering. There is kinda an opposite of 'golden' altitude where this is so obvious, below that altitude you cant see that far anyway and so low LOD is fine, and above a certain altitude you can't see the difference between trees and coloured terrain, so again 150 is just as good as 250+, but at around 2500 ft, for example on approach, you can clearly see the edge of the terrain detailed area if you are below around 300 TLOD. Now if only the old mod that drew trees to the horizon still worked, as I often find that the trees covered the blurred ground textures anyway. So I would say at the moment one needs the highest possible TLOD they can get, so if this mod will help to achieve that, without one having to continually go into the menu to manipluate it yourself at different stages of flight, it would be awesome. For me it is just 1000ft downwards where I would love to be able to lower TLOD on the fly. This is with Fenix into heavy FPS addon scenery eg inibuilds EGLL. I struggle to maintain 30fps in the Fenix going in there once very close to the airport and on the ground taxiing and at gate if I keep my TLOD at my 250 default with everything else on ULTRA. This is also of course when panning the camera, if I don't move my viewpoint it is fine, but you need to move viewpoint.
  14. You don't have to use it, but it would be wonderful and a gamechanger for some people. Sure you can go into menu and lower TLOD when you have landed so when taxiing in it is smooth, but this is a serious immersion breaker, so this tool would just be amazing.
  15. Clouds can look amazing but also sometimes truly awful, https://ibb.co/GT8K8jM and https://ibb.co/ZJn8WZZ for example. Both max settings but looks really bad. I don't think was this bad on release.
  16. Anyone know if it is possible to show Speed Constraints on the ND in the PMDG 737? Thanks
  17. Generally 200 or 300 if I’m in the mood. I’m mainly GPU limited. Any advice on how I could lower my GPU usage but keep the TLOD up and with minimal reduction in visual quality would be appreciated. (I obviously realise there is no such thing as a free lunch). I really hate seeing the ring of trees around the aircraft and blurred textures so need to keep the TLOD up. It was so awesome when the tree mod that extended them to the horizon worked, also was great at covering up the nasty blurred textures beyond the detailed ones. 5800x3D and and 3070 8GB for info. I guess just need a new GPU... but still pricey, and would need a new case due to size and those two things are putting me off!
  18. One of the worst performing airports for me. A good 25% less fps than other big addon airports.
  19. Also seems so reluctant to turn on the ground since the update. Seems to only be able to turn properly at like Max 2 kts...
  20. This would be in Nvidia Control Panel. Image Scaling should be off unless you want to add sharpening. it can be found under manage 3d settings, global settings and it is the top one Image Scaling. Of course, so much of this is monitor and personal taste dependant. I have the post processing sharpening still enabled, this is a setting in the usercfg, if you haven't changed it it should be On. Then you can use the Nvidia Freestyle filters (accessed by Alt + F3 in game) to fine tune it to your taste. Happy to provide my settings for this which I am very happy with! What is your monitor resolution?
  21. Are you using any Nvidia Sharpening? If you are an Nvidia user you can also use the freestyle filters use Sharpen+, leave sharpen on 0, but reduce Texture detail and it will help get rid of this.
  22. Hard to tell because of the snow but with the lighting it looks like you only just made the touchdown zone. Would be interested to see a vid with a smooth landing like that right on the markers.
