  1. Hm, there was a C-5 crash in 2006 where the whole crew apparently only watched the throttles instead of the engine instruments….so it does happen to real pilots as well 😉 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zkg_Y1ZmbWc
  2. Airbus recommendation/procedure is ON. This has nothing to do with the non-moving thrust levers. Even if the thrust levers are moving your are only looking at the engine gauges.
  3. Since you are using manual thrust only during the last few minutes during an approach, I doubt that fuel efficiency would be higher. The automation over-reliance problem is at least as old as the first airliners with full time autothrottle systems. Low flight/training standards in certain countries are a different story.
  4. Ground speed mini works ok in theory, but IRL it can be really dangerous. You have to monitor the system very closely and you must be ready to disengage it immediately in gusty conditions. After years of using the Airbus A/T systems I quickly learned when it is better to fly with manual thrust, despite the Airbus recommendation to use A/T.
  5. FYI, in many airlines 'manual' flying means autopilot OFF, autothrottle/autothrust ON. I don't understand the discussion about hand flying hand flying ability. Every airline pilot needs to do quite a bit of manual flying during the sim sessions, including 360° steep turns, engine out non-precision approaches etc.
  6. Does the throttle work with the default 208? The Carenado 208 has been designed strictly according to the SDK.
  7. Looking at the D18 performance tables I don't know why anyone would cruise higher than 10000ft. You don't get any faster above that altitude and fuel flow increases as well at cruise power settings.
  8. According to their website you don't need the 172. If you have purchased your aircraft earlier than 2017 you need to re-download them. https://www.carenado.com/sitecarenado/product/synthetic-vision-system-fsx-p3d/#tab-requirements
  9. Have you watched all episodes Asobo has released until now? If yes, I don't know how you get to this strange conclusion.
  10. This is becoming more interesting with each bit of info they release 🙂 https://steamcommunity.com/games/771800/announcements/detail/2105936692909493994
  11. Pressurization has not much to do with cruising altitude. You need oxygen supply above 10000ft.
  12. Good choice if you go with the PC12, Cheyenne II and the S550! Two other very nice ones are the C421 and the Seminole. For the PC12 and the C421 you should download the FDE updates from Avsim.
  13. That's also a nice one, but glass cockpits can have a big impact on the framerate depending on the PC. Furthermore on the small mice cinema screens basic information like speed, altitude and vert speed are more difficult to read than on the big analog gauges.
  14. The 550 is a nice one IMO with the additional advantage that it can get into very small airfields due it's low approach speeds.

Make sure anti-virus is off during download/installation. No sounds at all? No switch sounds etc.?
  16. Depends what you consider good performance, but concerning framerate the analog C550 should be the best choice.
  17. Can't remember exactly but shift + F1 or F2 or F3 etc. brings up the status window where you can select the state you want.
  18. No. Just edited my above post. Btw, you will not get max cruise performance with such low RPM and MP settings. For max cruise you need 1900RPM and 32.5MP (225ktas at ISA)
  19. Just checked the RW POH values at MTOW at FL200. 1700RPM, 30.0MP = 205ktas. edit. Temp is lower than standard but not much. Since you departed at MTOW I assume you've got a bit lighter at FL200. At FL200 159kias = 216ktas but the IAS/TAS ratio in FSX/P3D doesn't exactly match RW data and deviates even more if temp differs from ISA.

    Not going to happen.
  21. I'm experiencing another similar problem, but only in P3D and then only with newer aircraft or newer P3D versions, can't remember when I noticed it first. The aircraft always loads with the engines running, but they immediately shut down. Never seen or read about this dry-motoring, self-starting problem before. Maybe a re-install with all anti-virus program disabled helps. Have you restarted the PC after installing the Cheyenne?
  22. Never read about this weird problem before. Did you use the cold and dark menu option and have you confirmed it? Which sim?
  23. A smoother climb can be achieved by using initially VS. Set the new target altitude, push the throttles full forward and increase the VS in small steps until the IAS doesn't (or only slightly) increase. At this point set the speed bug to the present speed and select FLC. This procedure works during descent at idle thrust as well. The FLC button in the Phenom (IRL and in the sim) is actually mislabled since pushing this button doesn't change the FL. FLC works only in autothrottle equipped aircraft where thrust is automatically set to max climb or idle.
