  1. I don't think that is so much the case now, I think Ben has just found other interests and Airline2Sim isn't so much his priority anymore. He has a great product which I'm sure we all enjoy but I think it's fair to say that if he has moved on to other things I'm sure we'd love for someone else to pick up where he has left off and continue the training programs.
  2. Thanks Bob. So really I could just get the 3 month pack. I've lived with data from 2005 for this long if it is a few months out of date I'd still be happy! Cheers
  3. Sorry to jump on this thread - if I bought just a three month subscription to fsAerodata, could I just update the sim files once or if your subscription expires does the data in the sim revert back to 2005? Thanks.
  4. As a side note, sometimes the issue can be the 'multiple download' option in FTX Central settings. If you have trouble downloading (I've had issues even before the sale) turning this option off means FTX Central works fine. Out of interest, I've not been able to find the download link on the product pages. Is it still there?
  5. I just recently upgraded from a 1tb HDD to a Samsung 1tb M.2 - the difference was astonishing to say the least. I haven't experienced any overheating issues. The label is made of copper and acts as a heatsink. In all honesty, unless you want to spend the extra money, I would just get a 1tb Sata SSD. Where I am a Samsung sells for about $380 and the Samsung M.2 goes for $570 - the premium is not worth it in my opinion if it is for a flight sim computer. If you do a lot of large data transfers that would be a different case but best bang for buck is a single decent sized SSD in my opinion.
  6. Hi HI Ricardo, I purchased my KSAN V2 via theflightsimstore - it appears the current version they have is v2.1. They don't seem to have v2.2 update? Thanks.
  7. I've just moved from V3 to V4 last week; PMDG - repurchase A2A - repurchase FSUIPC - not sure AS2016 - discounted upgrade to P3D version as they split the licenses between FSX & P3D. Email the developers direct and see what they can do, doesn't hurt to ask or otherwise wait for a sale. If you still have your Active Sky Next license this version works for P3D and will get you by until a sale or you can afford to upgrade. ORBX - free upgrade to V4 using FTX Central 3 FSDT - free upgrade - download updated installers from their website and they should auto activate using existing license on your machine http://www.fsdreamteam.com/products.html FLIGHTBEAM - free upgrade - you need to get the updated installers as per this link - http://flightbeam.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=2812 OPUS Camera - unsure as I don't use TFDi717 - free upgrade, use TfDi addon manager to install, takes seconds. MYTraffic6 - unsure as I don't use FS2Crew - repurchase when going from 32-64bit, there is a small discount but may be better to wait for a sale. Latin VFR - Reinstall and should work fine, discounted upgrades. May need updated installers Taxi To The Gate no upgraded installers so you have to download patches from their website but certain airports work OK. (there is no upgrade you just have to jump a few hoops to get them to work) Hope this helps you. I too got sick of the OOM's - for the outlay though the change is well worth it.
  8. Download the avsim P3D guide which can be found on the sidebar. This is written by Rob and is a great place to start. It will give you some recommendations to try and also explains some of the options. In the PMDG forum there was also a guide on setting up Nvidia inspector. The guide is of no use as it is written for FSX but again it explains all the functions to help you understand. Hope this helps.
  9. 7700K at 4.8Ghz with HT on. H100i AIO and temps anywhere between 75-85C depending on ambient.
  10. Just the one built into the middle FMC. I never worried about it but I started learning the flows from the FCTM and it mentions setting this up so I just follow that. When pushback is completed, I change the display on the middle FMC to the ACARS status page and this is when the crash happens. Haven't had it before. I've submitted a ticket with PMDG.
  11. I've been able to narrow it down to the ACARS on the PMDG 747. New to me!
  12. HI Jim, Thanks for the detailed help. Last addons were KSDF by FSDT and KMIA by LatinVfr, interestingly there was an update for Coutal.exe this morning so if that hasn't fixed it then I can look at KMIA. I ran the .NET tool but it didn't think it could fix my problem (I've had updates disabled since the one that broke 32bit P3D). Again, thanks, at least I know where to look!
  13. Hi there, I've lately been getting consistent crashes right after pushback using the PMDG 747 at FB KSFO. According to event viewer, the fault seems to be from 'MSVCR120.dll'. Would anyone happen to have any idea which addon might be using this? I suspect a reinstall of that addon would fix it but not sure what uses it. Thanks in advance.
  14. At a guess I think it might be to do with performance. The control column in the PMDG VC is modeled at a slower frame rate for performance I think?
  15. I've been wondering when someone would create something like this! I've been thinking how much easier simming would be if we had one product to manage all the addons.
  16. For GPU temperatures, 80C isn't the end of the world but you would certainly want to aim for a lower temp if you can. Often, the standard graphics card profiles are set up for silence over cooling by default. Sometimes they come with different overclock profiles (my asus dual 1070 includes 'Silent', 'Gaming' & 'Overclock' profiles). The gaming profile turns the fans off before 55C, so the card has already warmed up before it starts the fans. You can use EVGA Precision to change the profile and result in lower temps but you may want to create a custom profile where the fans kick in at say 40c and run at 25% and then at 50C ramp up to 40% depending on the noise and what you are comfortable. I have overclocked mine but the fans run at about 50-55% at 50C and up so that the temps stay low. There are other factors too - if your CPU cooler is exhausting into your case then the graphics card is using warmer air to cool the GPU. In short, try a new graphics card profile in Precision if there is one but the best bet is to create your own custome fan profile.
  17. The 747 and 777 both have the feature. I think it is perhaps tied to the upload feature (route/weather etc) that the NGX doesn't unfortunately.
  18. Sorry to hear the news Ben, never nice to hear these things. Appreciate you sharing this - best wishes and look forward to more programs soon!
  19. I don't load the flight into P3D/FSX - PMDG will do that for you. Saves having to go through the menu at the top and then load the plan. PMDG generates a .PLN based on CO Route/WX.PLN. Here is the option in the CDU under PMDG Setup/Options/Simulation then page 8/10
  20. I usually just pull up an airport in Flight Aware and look at what is departing and where to and will pick one based on the aircraft I have and any payware airports. As an aside, I use PFPX for planning. Most of the time it plans a route as per Flight Aware. Where PFPX really comes into it's own is exporting. I export a flight plan to PMDG only - when you load the CO Route in the FMC, PMDG will automatically generate a .PLN for P3D to use. Active Sky can be set to automatically load whatever plan is active in P3D so the whole process is streamlined with PFPX I've found.
  21. I have been having the same experience with V3 and the latest update. Annoying that unless you disable windows update before uninstalling the update, it will commence updating as soon as you restart for the install. Still no closer to what it is though!
  22. I just saw there is another topic with the same issues!
  23. Hi there, I've just started getting CTD in V3 after the latest W10 update. Unfortunately it won't let me roll back the update. I use simstarter - if loading into the default cub, no worries, can use the sim fine. If I then try to load the PMDG 747 I get a crash as I click the 'select' button. I will also get the crash if I load into the A2A 182 as the first aircraft. System - 7700K at 4.8, 16gb, 1070gtx. Have tried reinstalling UT Live and also simconnect, no luck.
