This is exactly what he did with the Vega in P3D. Released a half finished plane then completely disappeared from view for two years...even shut down the forum on his website. Never fixed the Vega ..just began to promote his new project, the 247, which is also unfinished. I am not optimistic. He simply feels no obligation to his customers whatsoever...neither to complete a project nor to communicate in the slightest degree. Never again with this guy.

I would simply suggest that there is a difference between frequent communication and good communication.

If SU10 requires a new driver from Nvidia which hasn't been released yet, how can the update itself have been fully tested? I couldn't agree more with those who simply call for clear, straightforward communication from Asobo--something we have, indeed, been waiting a very long time for.

I don't know if what I want to do is possible in MSFS. I fly exclusively vintage GA planes from small bush strips and small remote airports. I want to choose an exclusive list of vintage planes from my add-ons as the only ai traffic that appears at those locations. I have seen several utilities that seem to concentrate on airliners and particular liveries, but it is the models themselves that I want to choose while excluding several MSFS default planes, such as airliners as AI. Does anyone have any suggestions on whether this is possible and how to go about it?

It was announced that Local Legend 6 would be released today. Any news on this?

MSFS GA versus Airliners in MSFS 2020.
TASCHMANN replied to Bobsk8's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
For me it is the difference between flying an aircraft (GA) and programming one to fly itself. Airliner addons always remind me of a computer simulation of a computer. -
Key combination to save the EXACT pilot view position
TASCHMANN replied to Noel's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
No problem with "F" it is one of the keys that work. The other is "Ctl-space" they both do the same thing. It's your choice. If you have any problem just check your keyboard assignments in the Controls Options to make sure those keys are correctly mapped. BTW I'm assuming your not using VR. With VR the process is a little different. -

If you are anywhere in the cockpit view, either "Ctl-space" or the "F" key will bring you back to the view you set with ctl-f10. Both do the same thing. It's called "Reset Cockpit View" on the default Keyboard settings list. Just to be clear, this will not work if you are in external view, nor will it work if you have changed the default keyboard commands. But it works well if you are in the overhead panel, for example..or anywhere inside the aircraft. -

Set the view you want, then press Ctl-f10. -
WU IX - Italy/Malta due today 17MAY22
TASCHMANN replied to DAD's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
An unqualified statement by a business with a date certain that is made repeatedly week after week is hardly an "estimate." -
WU IX - Italy/Malta due today 17MAY22
TASCHMANN replied to DAD's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
If that is so, why publish them at all. It's like saying "Here's some information that may or may not be accurate." I really don't get it. -

What is the point of releasing "Development Roadmaps" every week if the information in them is not accurate? As recently as last Thursday they indicated that the "Local Legend IV" would also be released today. They have been saying that for weeks. When the day arrives, they tell us that it won't be until Thursday May 19. Isn't no information better than misinformation? -
Really great shots. I love the repaint especially the instrument panel. Is it available?

BIG RADIALS The Goose
TASCHMANN replied to leprechaunlive's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
How did you get the radios tuned and then to swap frequencies from standby to active? Am I missing something? -
I would agree that Pamela Booker's involvement indeed bodes well. She has done several first rate FMs.

Could you elaborate on what those "indications" as to quality might be?

Quality vs Hype: An Inverse Proportion
TASCHMANN replied to TASCHMANN's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Or perhaps not set a date or list a feature until you have it. I buy an awful lot of things (software included) that don't need to be completed after I buy them. -
Quality vs Hype: An Inverse Proportion

An excellent point. Perhaps we can recognize this and practice a bit more forbearance. The map is not the territory and the announcement is not the product. -
Quality vs Hype: An Inverse Proportion
TASCHMANN replied to TASCHMANN's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I would agree with you on this. It does seem that most of the advertising I am referring to consists of long lists of features many of which are missing at the time of release. In some cases they arrive later, much later, or not at all. Many are now suggesting, wisely I think, that "release day" purchases are quickly becoming a thing of the past. The wiser course of action is to wait for a thoughtful and objective review (such as your own perhaps) rather than risking money and, much more importantly at my age, time on a product that is not what it is held out to be. -
Quality vs Hype: An Inverse Proportion
TASCHMANN posted a topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Has anyone noticed what appears, to me at least, to be the inverse proportion, in so many cases, between the length and intensity of a hype campaign and the quality of the sim or addon upon release? It seems to indicate an over-allocation of money and of time to advertising rather than to Quality Control. (As just one example, the release of the Aerosoft Twin Otter and the long list of fixes a week later suggests a question: If they could fix all of that in a week, why couldn't they fix it all before release.) -
January 20th, 2022 - Development Update
TASCHMANN replied to ChaoticBeauty's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Proofreading prior to publication is, of course, a kind of Quality Control. Asobo is not known for either one. -
Thinking of reinstalling X-Plane....
TASCHMANN replied to sidfadc's topic in The X-Plane General Discussions Forum
There's only one thing that X-plane 11 is far better at...simulating the flight of an airplane.
