  1. That’s it’s a long way shot of the competition. Everybody knows it who have used both.
  2. SO which did you choose? The realistic and only decent version of the 737 by PMDG? Or the trash version IFly?
  3. That’s does look interesting. Can the schedules be updated to the latest? Can you add your own routes and airplanes etc?
  4. Agree 100%. IFly isn’t even in the same ball park as PMDG in anything. Not even the same planet. IFly remind me of Carenado. All show and no go.
  5. Agree, PMDG 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Daylight then perhaps some freeware offerings. Its the only realistic 737 NG available for FSX and P3D.
  6. Still no sign of Jim. 🤔 Tom would’ve well and truly would’ve been along by now. 👍
  7. The pressurisation and start process is more realistic on the NGX. Approach idle is correctly modelled. The general handling, pitch/power/VS/trim settings is far closer to the real airplane (according to the AFM I have).
  8. You said. It. Fs9. The worlds moved on by a decade while IFly are stuck in the past. And I never found it that system deep at all. It’s missing quite a few things. I’d call their 737 and 747 ‘lite’ versions especially compared to pmdg’s products. Both of my ‘cheaper’ (you truly do get what you pay for) IFly’s were gladly refunded. Common practise with many others I’ve talked to around the traps and VA’s.
  9. And anyone mentioning IFly and ‘quality’ in the same sentence are also dillusional.
  10. Agree, of its not fun, that what’s the point. 🙂 Hopefully Jim can drop in and add some comment on this. Hopefully to add to the fun of this thread.
  11. Nicely taken. Sky and cloud textures please. 🙂
  12. So the same add-on global textures, same sky, same water textures, same airport add-ons and same airplane add-ons, same over sized trees and houses and the same washed out look will suddenly be magically better in P3D? Right.
  13. If i install the same global textures, same sky theme, same orbs airports, use the same airplane add-on etc, what are the massive differences? I don’t see THAT many to be honest.
  14. Not a problem. 🙂 The Raisbeck website has the charts for the -52 and -42 with the modifications. Each chart has the normal and maximum torque settings for each rpm setting ex. 1600, 1700 etc for the -52. I was of the understanding with the normal torque settings the ITT should be around the 775 area with maximum being another 20-30 degrees hotter. 810 etc. Technically anyway. That was just going by what I’ve read here and there.
  15. Overly dramatic and not at all. Probably no different to be honest.
  16. On take off with a PT6, you can easily over torque it. On the B200, 2230 ft/lbs maybe be the ‘red line’, but it will go well over that . 2750 is max for 5 seconds. I’m guessing it maybe not necessarily go kaboom if longer then that, but it may result in some expensive maintenance.
  17. I never really understood that term either. Hugely overused I think. If you want to study a particular airplane and its systems, just buy the manual for it.
  18. Historic Airline Grouo would be the place to look. Its a very simple VA but it caters mostly for the classics. A great place to go if you want to fly them - DC-10, 747-100/200, DC -3 etc etc etc.
  19. Oh, I was talking about the B200 with -52’s. Only going by what I’ve heard, but I could well be wrong. The normal cruise was / should be 775. Should being the operative word. Lol. How does the Carenado compare with Flight1’s B200? I’ve got that one but it’s pretty FPS heavy.
  20. PMDG 747 > daylight > IFly version (I’ve been told its glorified freeware). Plus you get the -8 which will be incredible.
  21. I tried the free trail and found it rather cumbersome and awkward if not very disappointing. Fs2Crew seemed much slicker, easier and far more user friendly. Deleted and was never happier.
  22. Thanks for th info. I was going by what I read by some of those flying the -42’s, -61’s and -52’s who even with those get temp limited even at cold OAT. Flight sim traditionally had the ITT dropping. At least with some add-ons if it’s done correctly, one can fly different limits - like 740 in the -42 - and have that as a limit if it occurs first in high OAT.
  23. Ifly.....uughhhh. Im guessing more airplane Systems’s in this one like the airport maps etc will need lots of testing to get right.
  24. Being that they’re the only developer doing a 747-8, I’m sure they’ll take their time and make sure it’s a VERY polished product when released.
  25. Most would use the Normal Cruise Power torque settings. And at 1700 rpm. The engine ITT technically should be no more then 775 with those power settings. Not 820.
