You should get instructions from ATC if you are passing through A, C, D or E airspace. If your flightplan passes through A, C, D or E airspace, announce to the Airfield or area ATC your position, altitude and heading. I haven't had any warnings of other traffic yet, nor specific heading or altitude instructions.

Can you see the runway? Yes. Good. Leaves aren't turning brown in Autumn on a computer flight simulator = 1st World Problem. PS There's no cupholder in the C152.

Set her down ( C152 ) in a farmers pasture. Shut down and sat listening to the rooks cawing and wind whistling through the trees. Dead impressed.

Worry not. Not seen on the world map or the GPS Map, Alscot Park, XEG3AP is in the sim. Its a parallel pair of whitewash markers 07/25 970ft of grass. Good enough to land a C152 and get back up. Prior permission is required from Alscot Estate manager. 🙂

Downloaded Standard Edition from Xbox Game Pass. Configured Saitek Rudder pedals simple. Configured Saitek Yoke hats and switches OK. Configured Saitek quadrant OK, using mouse to set flaps. Had a game configuring Bodnar A/D card inside the Saitek Yoke. Fiddling about and then it just suddenly recognized it as if by magic. More luck than judgement. It works. C152 out of XBID Bidford on Avon Gliding Club. This is where I got confused. Buildings AI must think EVERY airfield has a bloody big hangar. Bidford has a club hut, a caravan site and a fuel magazine. Second observation. Someone should take the mower down the strip. The grass texture was dreadfully wrong. One bit of praise for the Buildings AI. HMP Long Lartin looks recognisable. I've yet to see how HMP Hewell looks just south of Stoney Lane, XEG3BZ. My VRPs for these airstrips. Well worth the £1. IMHO, a 'Game' is where there is a goal or target or Highscore to aim at. A 'sim' is a scenario, where real life can be immitated. X-Plane, P3D and MSFS are Sims. They resemble (close to) real life scenarios. War Thunder is a game becaus killing the enemy and surviving is the aim. The player collects currency along the way. If it were the case that every MSFS buyer needed to pass their PPL or Commercial, and then operate an airline or carrier to become a millionaire, it would be a Game.

XP11 gets its weather info from METAR. Is MSFS2020 the same? eg EGOS 182120Z 32001KT 9999 FEW040 16/15 Q1007 A few clouds at 4000 ft. How does the Weather software interpret this? What type of cloud?

"Advertising Standards" is not in Microsoft's lexicon. I became dubious when it was stated 37,000 airports were modelled. United Kingdom has over 2,000 airfields so there's going to be a few missing in the rest of the world. I shall not be purchasing until I have confirmation XEG3BZ, Stoney Lane and XEG3AP, Alscot Park exist in MSFS2020. Take what you have seen in the advertising trailers with a sack of salt. VR Flight Sim Guy had the AP go barmy while livestreaming on Youtube earlier today. Made me think twice about shelling out on MSFS2020. Reading the threads here tells me there is much work to be done. I have a HP Reverb G2 on pre-order. Will wait for VR capability to be released. Then assess the situation then. The Saitek Yoke firmware in it's internal card is to blame, so bypass it by installing a A-D converter card. The Bodnar card is for this situation. Cheers.

Hi, Just joined. Have X-Plane 11 at the moment. Got the hardware, i5 8600K @ 4.7GHz & RTX 2080ti. My enquiry is in regards to MS providing correct topography and surface texture for small grass strips, eg XEG3BZ, XEG3AP, XEG3HF & XBID. Have a HP Reverb G2 on pre-order ( £525 ) Don't want to commit to MS FS2020 until I have confirmation the small grass strips are there and true to life. Cheers, Jim
