  1. You should not be selecting REAR left and right for 5.1. You should be selecting SURROUND left and right. You only use rears if using 7.1 CJ
  2. I found that by far the biggest difference on load times was installing a NVME SSD. These are about 4 times faster than a regular SATA SSD on continuous load. My load time from desktop to the main game menu is now 2min 8sec. I do use the video skip utility too. I had previously been using a SATA conventional hard disc. The change was dramatic to say the least. I am running on an i7 8750 laptop with 16gig ram. CJ
  3. Great typo or are you both a sim and music enthusiast ?
  4. I generally do not look at the loadout at all and just fly with whatever the game gives me. I have never had the issues described on landing although I do use auto-pilot in approach mode when I turn onto finals already with full flaps and the gear down. I always have the plane on auto-throttle and auto speed control. I just control the altitude on the flight and have autopilot on from about 30 seconds after take-off. I mainly use the in-game world map flight planner and apply sids, stars and ILS for the runway in that planner. The plane pretty much always flies down the glide slope and I tend to turn off autopilot at about 200ft and do the final land muself - normally pretty smooth. I pretty much fly exclusively the Airbus flybywire version but start at the end of the take off runway as I don't get too much excitement from the start-up check list. A video of a short flight of mine here - although I messed up the manual take-off and landing, for the latter tried full auto landing and it was not too happy!! CJ
  5. The default nav data for KFSO was messed up in the last patch. When I tried flying there from LAX with the default data the flight plan was wiped in the A320 when it spawned on the LAX runway!! However, I then subscribed to Navigraph and injected its data into MSFS using the beta app and all was then well.
  6. Thanks for the suggestion. I will try Airmate. I have been trying Little Navmap over the last 24 hours and it is pretty good. Certainly pushes me towards the one month a year approach for Navigraph. Will try Airmate today.
  7. You really do not understand what you are being told. Asobo do not show the whole changes list just the ones people have voted for. There is a list of all the other fixes/updates that will be in the patch that they keep to themsleves. As per the Update they will be releasing the patch details in the fullness of time. It is quite simple really but amazing how many people don't understand this. CJ
  8. The modder is creating a lot of these from Google but he is not doing anything about the colour tint to blue which is a Google 'feature' - there are well known ways to fix this in the mod community but this guy obviously has not read these or is not bothering. CJ
  9. In my case I get the whole of the graphic settings set to next to nothing where they are normally on High-End. As above it is so random I don't know what causes it. Thought it might happen when patch applied. CJ
  10. Some of the instruments are absolutely stunning. Just a little bump of a learning curve to fly. CJ
  11. I certainly very much like being able to see all the STARS/SIDS on screen at once to be able to judge which one I want to use - at the moment in MSFS I try them one by one. Further I am really into the A320 and most likely the other airliners too and MSFS does a good job of Low Altitude Airways so the between airports flight planning is fine in MSFS for me at the moment. However, Navigraph is great for the round the airports stuff. I am not into flying the GA aircraft yet so small circular trips which MSFS does not do easily is not a factor e.g. a flight round the mountains. And for the latter I would normally just fly visually. CJ
  12. Well two clear improvements: 1. ILS 27 approach to Heathrow does not use a ridiculous approach which the default data used. 2. RNAV 23 into Madeira actually lines up on the runway and uses a good glidescope. It was all over the place before. Quite happy with this. Will definitely keep on using the alternate NAV data for MSFS when sub expires at the end of the month but, as yet, undecided as to whether to continue the subscription for the charts. Still have many more days to try them out. CJ
  13. Looking at the detail in MSFS the new navdata is stored in the Community folder just like other mods and is about 65meg. Will see how much I use it over the next month to see if it is worth subscribing for the charts. It was worht it for one month sub to fill in the gaps in MSFS nav data and have a play with the Navigraph system. I can confirm that nothing is installed datawise apart from the MSFS navdata. That is the beyond the Navigraph charts program itself the charts are not stored locally. CJ
  14. No, you just have to got the the Beta forum for the download link for the beta MSFS Navigraph loader. Your NAVIGRAPH login gives you access to ALL the forums. I took out a month's subscription an hour ago and then downloaded the beta MSFS loader. All worked perfectly. Very happy but will prob just pay a month a year as am not obsessed with the very latest data. Like a lot how you can see all the STARS and SIDS in one go in Navigraph charts which makes it so much easier to pick the right one in MSFS. CJ
  15. So if I pay for a month and turn off the renewal will I then get the latest data for that month then after the end of the month the system will still work but I just won't get later data updates? That is the subscription is really just for updating the data and not the app itself? Thanks CJ
  16. I fly IFR all the time in the A320. I turn off ATC voice and only use ATC for sqwark before takeoff as sometimes it is not set (seems random when it is preset) and I sue ATC on final for wind and QNH. I use the flight plan and constraints for altitude. I normally use ILS approaches that I choose in the MSFS world flight planner and use low altitude airways. Works brilliantly except for DSan Francisco which is currently borked. CJ
  17. MSFS 2020 will work as long as your Game Pass subscription is active. It will work identically to anyone who has bought it outright. If your don't pay for the subscription you will no longer be able to access it.
  18. Does look nice but I am going to stick with the ones Gaya did for Japan for free for now and the lovely NZA Simulations Australia and New Zealand work. Given the quality and detail of the free airports I see no reason to pay for them at the moment. CJ
  19. A couple of pics from me, glorious work, thanks for another place to visit in this amazing world.
  20. I think the comment was spot on when you see the signs floating in mid air in the later picture in the thread. Awful work. Compare and contrast to the freeware: CJ
  21. Wow! Awesome video and extremely impressive airport, thank you.
  22. Definitely pricey which is unfortuante as I live in the UK. Won't be buying these. First lines of the Luton page: Bristol airport began its life in 1930 as a civil aerodrome but soon the outbreak of way in 1939 saw it being requisitioned by the Air Ministry for wartime use. Between 1950 and 1980 the airport slowly expanding, sometimes going backwards and it wasn’t until the 1990 when the Low-cost airlines started to take hold that Bristol took off with a new terminal and massive increase in flights... and the url https://www.uk2000scenery.co.uk/copy-of-bristol-2020hd-msfs Says it all really, not looking after the detail!
