  1. You're welcome, Ray. I kept a copy of it because I thoroughly enjoyed it. I bet you've got some more great stories over your career in aviation!
  2. Looks like Baron Von Richtofen wearing a WWII US commando diving suit, pretending to fly in a cardboard box with Dr.No's steel hands. /Maybe that's a bit harsh, every dev has to start somewhere and it's better than I would be able to accomplish at this point.
  3. Here is my favorite RayMar contribution, Ray's article on Roy LoPresti and the Mooney M20. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FazltkVlPERwA7DyAAyLOcBwRZzTvDAt/view?usp=share_link
  4. So I was able to load EHAM in ADE. ADE does have a flatten setting which I haven't tried, but it might not work. https://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/threads/flatten-airport-with-ade.455333/ If it doesn't work, what I would do is enable two-way editing for your EHAM ADE project. Then you launch ADE and load your EHAM project in ADE. Enabling two way editing in ADE will cause ADE to make an XML file which you can load in the MSFS project editor. Then you start MSFS, load into EHAM, and then load the EHAM xml from ADE. After that, when you make a change and hit save in the msfs project editor it will save it to the XML. You can load the reload the project in ADE and vice versa to sync. https://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/threads/how-to-make-flatten-areas-for-huge-airports-msfs-solved.448827/ http://scruffyduck.org.uk/ade_2020_help/TwoWayEditing.html
  5. Only a matter of time before that dude implodes spectacularly.
  6. This! I'm more than willing to donate and I appreciate FS.TO, but at the end of the day I have to stand with the developers who make our sim so interesting.
  7. Oof! It appears FS.TO was sailing along like the Titanic, and it's master didn't see the iceberg looming in the darkness.
  8. It's still an alpha, "Alpha 21 Hot Fix 5". https://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/forums/airport-design-editor-for-msfs-2020.160/ One cool new feature is "two-way editing". You can open a project in ADE, and open it in MSFS. Then you can make changes in MSFS, hit save, and it syncs them with ADE. (or, vice versa)
  9. I'm upgrading KILG. I used Airport Design Editor to import default KILG, and I ran ADE's fault finder. AI won't follow a taxiway link that doesn't have a designation letter. If taxiway points form too tight of a radius, they are listed as "broken links". I found "open" taxiways links, un-named taxiway links, and ground polys with over lapping vertex points. I found taxiway signs that don't make sense, one or two hold short points that were reversed, and a few taxiways which no longer exist IRL. It took me several hours to fix. Also, the default airport's autogen ground polys went totally nuts with the number of vertex points. For example, there might be 50 or 60 vertex points in a short 90degree arc. It's no wonder that some of them ended up overlapping. For a while I theorized that it might be what's causing the ground texture clipping in DX12, but I digress. In one of the recent dev talks they were asked about the quality of airports, and they more or less said it's a job for the community and 3rd party devs. Time linked to Asobo statement,
  10. I'm excited about the NZ update for one reason, NZA Simulations created several of the new airports for Asobo. NZA's products are extremely nice.
  11. Try this R44, https://flightsim.to/file/45703/robinson-r44-raven-ii-helicopter-40th-anniversary-edition
  12. Well, if you have power to burn allow me to present the cream of the crop for your perusal. https://flightsim.to/file/2605/we-love-vfr-region-1 https://flightsim.to/file/16674/we-love-vfr-region-2 https://flightsim.to/file/24818/we-love-vfr-xtra-fireworks https://flightsim.to/file/38499/mamudesign-marinas https://flightsim.to/file/26186/powerlines-and-solar-farms https://flightsim.to/file/14840/project-litfts-europe https://flightsim.to/file/9529/global-ai-ship-traffic-msfs-v1 https://flightsim.to/file/21430/global-ai-ship-traffic-great-lakes https://github.com/clompsy/msfs_nameplates https://flightsim.to/file/10816/world-navaids https://flightsim.to/file/46419/get-rid-of-fix https://flightsim.to/file/12071/new-light
  13. Find mods here, https://map.flightsim.to/ Install them with this, https://flightsim.to/file/1572/msfs-addons-linker https://flightsim.to/file/14298/msfs-addons-linker-general-procedure
  14. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and this is a beautiful machine.
  15. There are a ton of widgets for it on fsto. Some of them look rather usefull. https://flightsim.to/c/user-content/flow-pro-widgets/
  16. One of the easiest ways to disable standby for your usb peripherals is to download the 14 day trial version of Spad Next and launch it in Admin mode. The first time you launch Spad Next without admin rights, it will prompt you to relaunch Spad Next with admin rights so it can disable power management.
  17. I enjoyed it. I think it was intended to showcase the diversity of MSFS and aviation in general. There is an airframe out there for everyone and they're all different, which is why there are so many flavors of ice cream.
  18. "Friends don't let friends buy Captain Sim products." /although I was quite fond of their C130 for FSX. Would really love to see a quality dev release a c130.
  19. To me the systems and nav would be the easiest part because they are an exercise in logic, like stacking blocks, while art requires a degree of emotion.
