  1. Well it certainly does seem like you have the capacity to feel quite high and mighty about not being so bothered by it, I'll absolutely give you that. Sure things get broken, but when things get broken they should be fixed without delay, or at least addressed in a material way, not a community manager putting some lip-service on the forums. Were this in my business, if we'd let something that's been an historically persistent issue, and has also seen lengthy outages continue to pop up, we'd have lost our jobs a long time ago. But, of course, we'd have designed and implemented a redundancy of some kind as well long before we had recurring outages. In my opinion, this is sad and embarrassing.
  2. As you are entitled to "do what you do" and let us know about it, people who paid for a product are entitled to let others know they are unsatisfied when it doesn't work. *Crikey*, we spent money on it!
  3. How long did it take them last time? It was well beyond the order of days. Unacceptable, in my opinion, for a piece of software that was sold as being finished, albeit "planned to be improved upon".
  4. That's not what I said so quit with the strawmen. But if you want to discuss that, it's an advertised feature, never did they say it was a WIP, at least not to the point where it's expected to break every two weeks.
  5. It's an advertised feature, "it's hard and no one can do it" is not an excuse for it not to work, ESPECIALLY when Asobo won't let anyone else have a crack at it.
  6. This is the problem I have with them having "no plans" to open up the weather system to 3rd party devs. If Asobo can't get it right consistently, open it up to someone who can, there's really no excuse for these issues at this stage nearly a year and a half after release. Live weather not working is an absolute no-go, for me at least.
  7. PacX certainly adds a lot of immersion for me, with boarding sounds, announcements, etc. I really wish it had a feature where you could record your own custom announcements. Worth the money, especially on sale.
  8. This is it for me. In some aircraft in P3D I have 25+ views, that can all be assigned key-binds or you can cycle through multiple views with a single keybind. If CP has this kind of functionality for MSFS, I'm picking it up day-one, and a cinematic view comparable to what it was in P3D would be a great plus.
  9. It looks cool, and I think the A340 is a very interesting aircraft. I have all the other Toliss offerings, which I very much like except for the weird mouse lag on the MCDUs, which they still blame on LR (no one else has this problem). But, I'm passing on this one. $90 for an aircraft with subpar modeling, passable (at best) sounds, and great systems. All of those things have to be great to command $90. I like Toliss, and hope they do very well with this release, but I don't see the $90 value there. I'd pick it up in a sale for $65 or so, but not as it sits right now. ini's a300/a310 are less and you get a much more polished product.
  10. This has been absolutely the biggest value-add to the sim I've come across. 100% worth every penny. Bijan is killing it. The custom flora look excellent, the seasonal tree colors are great, and now this. The seasonal terrain texture masking isn't perfect yet, and I have found a few runways that are now brown, but this is the first iteration of that feature and it shows a hell of a lot of promise. For me, if I could only keep one add-on for MSFS, this would be it.
  11. Well look at you, all high and mighty, using a program that works (and looks really really good!).
  12. Same here. Just got home from work, looking forward to checking out some of the fixes. NOPE.
  13. They really do look blocky and awful. I thought it may have been due to compression putting them on an avsim post, but they look just as bad on the official site.
  14. I am a firm supporter of YYYY-MM-DD. Change my mind.
  15. I'm having the exact same problem, so far only after failed attempts to update things through content manager. It just stops downloading, freezes, etc. It's very frustrating. Haven't even tried flying yet. This is, for me at least, the worst update yet.
  16. Looks like this was rescheduled for July 29, 2021. 0900-1000 CDT.
  17. I didn't know that Ted Stryker had added CFI to his impressive list of accomplishments.
  18. Hate to be THAT guy, but is there any ETA on the update with the custom FMC? Last I heard, we were told that the delivery would be on the order of weeks, not months. It's now been a couple months, so just following up to see if that was still in the works. Anyone heard anything?
  19. I've got heading, speed, and v/s knobs (not mode select, but the knobs) assigned to buttons on my X52 through MSFS natively. It's definitely possible. I think it's under the autopilot controls. I'll look them up when I get the chance and post a screenshot.
  20. They're going to be swimming in money like Scrooge McDuck when the NG3 comes out. Oh, and Fabio said it would be out this week. Very excited here.
  21. This looks very good, but the JustFlight link doesn't work for me and the REX page just says "Coming Soon" at the bottom. Is this actually available?
  22. Anybody with the update to the update that can say whether or not that awful problem with the flight director was fixed?
  23. I got this on Thursday and am very very impressed. I'd love the option to hide/swap out the different FMSs (once the custom one comes) and even drop in the RXP GTN750, which I hear on the other forums works. But I was mainly excited to have another aircraft that uses ground based navaids. This thing is just absolutely fun to fly, and the 80s tech and flight deck fills a gap in the XP offerings between the 60s FJS 732 and 727 and the modern stuff that's widely available. Worth every penny to me, and it wouldn't make a difference if it had an FMS or not, even though I do appreciate that JF included the default and have commissioned the development of a custom one. There's tons to dig in to here, and I'm looking forward to it. Documentation is excellent, too. Well done, JF and Thranda!
