  1. What were Microsoft and the aircraft manufacturer thinking? Microsoft has the wrong aircraft for MSFS scenery. The DA42 has superior cockpit views compared to the DA62, but the DA62 is the default aircraft for MSFS. There are also more DA42s. The DA42's first flight was in 2002 and over 600+ have been produced. The DA62's first flight was in 2012 and only over 100 have been manufactured.
  2. I'm having a problem with the DA62 not holding altitude. I can't fathom out why it will climb to FL140 and remain there for quite a while before descending a couple of hundred feet for no apparent reason. See attached screenshot showing commanded altitude is 14,000 but it's dropped to 13,800ft. Am I alone in having this problem in P3D v4.5? VNAV was engaged but the ToD point is a long way off.
  3. DA62 GTN Panel by Jorge Rexach, on Flickr The integration of the GTN750 into the DA62 MFD is now complete and ready for beta testing. The G1000 MFD gauge is replaced by a redesigned gauge that includes enhanced autopilot functions, including Alt Hold before selected altitude capture, saving the VS and/or FLC profile settings for resuming the climb/descent, AP auto disconnect based on airspeed, vertical navigation, altitude and extreme attitudes. The FLC algorithm has been revised to improve the accuracy of hold speed vs actual airspeed, both in climbs as well as descent, within two knots.A 2d autopilot gauge was incorporated, as flying into turbulence makes the virtual cockpit AP buttons difficult to use. Fuel system page now include separate gauges for main tanks and auxiliary tanks (visible when aux pumps are activated), as well as separate fuel tank quantity readouts. A fix for the auxiliary pump switches on the console has been properly coded to enable tank selection. Once the testing is finished and necessary approvals secured, the full package will be posted in the F1 site. If you are willing to help with the testing please PM me. 4. A new version of the Carenado DA62 GTN 750 v2.0 has now been published and is ready for download at the Flight1 File System Library website. New features added to the original version of the GTN_MFDDA62VC: The EIS gauges display have been revised to be use realistic parameters and limits, and programmed to be dynamic, i.e. coolant, fuel and gearbox temps will rise, and in cases overheat, fluid levels will be rise and fall. Gauges are “quieter”, less blinks, and programmed to be on when the engines are set to ON. Two Aural alerts for Altitude Capture have been added to the autopilot function, one for 1,000 feet to capture, and another when the selected altitude is captured. You will need Doug Dawson’s xml sound gauges installed on your sim’s Gauges folder. It is available for free at his website. The GTN750 HOME button is accessible using the MENU Button in right hand bezel (next to the DTO button). A deicing gauge has been added to the System Page in the EIS as in the real aircraft, and initial quantity will be set at startup. Consumption rates are programmed exactly as in the real DA62 for each of the NORM, HIGH, and MAX modes. The deice fluid tank when full (37 liters) will last 180 minutes @ NORM, 90 minutes @ HI, and 30 min @ MAX. The Max button will operate for 120 seconds at a time (corrected from 20 sec. as originally set by Carenado). The cabin flood light has been assigned to the flood light knob (fifth position ON, fourth OFF) the cockpit panel. When turned ON this way, the switches on the cabin ceiling are overridden. No more searching for the overhead switch in a cold and dark cockpit. Forward strobes (landing) lights have been added, activated via the ELT ON position. The landing light switch is overridden by the strobe function, as the sim’s landing light variable is directly coded to the switch in the VC model, and the switch will move to the on position when landing lights are ON. A push-back switch has been programmed to the pilots pedal adjustment switch. Left click toggles the push-back on or off, right click disables the Push back. The parking brake is released before starting the push-back. Oxygen levels initial quantity and usage rate have been programmed. The fuel statistics in the EIS have been corrected to properly display endurance and available range at current fuel flow rates. The PFD’s XPDR mode (STBY,ON, ALT) will be switched to ON below 500’ AGL and to ALT mode over 500 feet. Cosmetic changes to improve readability of the EIS pages. An intermittent problem with the altitude hold in the autopilot was addressed and thoroughly tested. Textures for the G1000 MFD are included for the reprogramming of the GTN 750 buttons (DTO, HOME, GPS source) as well as popup shortcuts to the GTN 650, the 2D MFD and a Wx Radar (BYOR). Many other refinements and improvements in the Autopilot VNAV capabilities are now under beta testing, will be following soon. A glimpse of today's tests: For RXP GTN users, I understand that renaming the GTN gauges in the panel.cfg is all that's required. If you are interested in helping out with the testing, or have any questions, please PM me.
  5. I was just checking online double engine GA planes and got captivated by the new metallic beautiful colours of these models: http://www.diamondaircraft.com/aircraft/da62/ I would live to own one, what would you like to own if you could afford a GA plane? Simbol
  6. Dear community, I have an issue with the DA62 G1000. Upfront, I am sorry that my description might sound confusing, the issue surely confuses me... After entering an flightplan, taking off and engaging the AP, the AP follows the route nicely, however with a big BUT: The PFD does not change to the next WP, the flightplan in the MFP does not switch to the next active leg. I can of course rectify this with choosing the active leg manually, but this is a nuisance especially on difficult SID and STAR. What is even more confusing is that the distance calculations are completely off. The distances are calcuated from the departure airport to the next WP (if I knew how to attach files, I would attach 2 screenshots to demonstrate the issue). I am completely lost why this is happening. I have even read through the official Garmin G1000 manual to find my error. I think that I forgot something at the very beginning of the flight, like activating the flight plan or tell the FMS that I am taking off. Is there anybody who can give me some advice here? Regards and merry christmas, Oliver
  7. Greetings Avsim team, im having some issues with the Vertx DA62. While I’m at the VC, the all of the textures just spikes and it’s impossible for me to make anything. It only happens on the interior views, I change to exterior and top views and they are fine. I have emailed the Vertx support team and Seam, but they haven’t replied any email... I want to fly this plane, but it’s impossible with this issues. on the drive link you can find photos. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1nvCrm3nnW05B7WLkYXRC4sYzjHi0yfc4
  8. Hello everyone, I've been having this problem for little while now, and I can't figure out why : Whenever I have a flight plan loaded, or I've set up a "direct to" in the G1000, the magenta line appears and the G1000 indicates that the "leg" is active, but I cannot turn on the NAV feature of the autopilot so that the plane follows the active leg. For some reason, my autopilot will only accept "roll" and "hdg" as laternal navigation, but not nav. I may be doing something wrong, but I've followed all the checklists and gone through the manual and I can't seem to find what the origin of the problem would be. Thanks so much for your help, epik
