  1. If you travel in California with your General Aviation plane and want to visit the famous Yosemite National Park, here’s the closest airport for you: Mariposa-Yosemite Airport (KMPI). Mariposa-Yosemite Airport is located in west central Mariposa County, California. The airport is approximately 70 miles northeast of Fresno, 37 miles east of Merced and only 18 miles southwest of Yosemite National Park. The airport lies along the western slope of the Sierra Nevada foothills at 2,250 feet. Free to download for PC: https://flightsim.to/file/68318/mariposa-yosemite-airport-kmpi I hope you like all these small general aviation airfields, done with passion. Just my way to give back to the flight sim community! Free to download for PC: https://flightsim.to/file/68318/mariposa-yosemite-airport-kmpi More pics available at : Free to download for PC: https://flightsim.to/file/68318/mariposa-yosemite-airport-kmpi
  2. Placerville airport is located in the heart of the Sierra Nevada foothills and a common plan B for pilot diverting when Lake Tahoe is not accessible. The airport is located on top of a bluff, so you can practice your aircraft carrier landings. There’s a lot of parking spaces and a very practicable fueling island. EAA Chapter 512 as well as Skywagons (aircraft sales and brokerage) are hosted at the field. You can also have a look at inside the Ragtime Aero hangars. Placerville Airport is free to download : https://flightsim.to/file/67811/placerville-airport-kpvf Features v1.0 Huge amount of work on elevation of the whole airport but also on small areas around and inside the perimeter Hard work blending all revised new airport textures with the underlying satellite images All fences around the airport (thanks to vectorplacement SDK features) Add specific taxiway signs (noise abatement extrapolated from ground charts, if you have their exact meanings let me know) Add Helipad H1 located on north side of runway 05 end Add the Hangtown VOR-DME (objects) Add the Windtee customized for KPVF and the weather sensors Add thousand of small objects to make the airport a more living and immersive environment. Mostly with stocked objects which requires no 3rd party library installation except World Updates. See requirements below. Add several open hangars (with some jewels inside) replacing AI generated. My scenery works better in daylight: invite yourself to the EAA - Chapter 512 summer meeting. Don’t forget to bring deserts, Chapter provides hot dog and hamburgers Special attention to buildings : EAA Chapter 512, Ragtime Aero and Skywagons.com Fix the 4-box VASI runway 5 Fix the 2-light PAPI runway 23 Fix the airport beacon tower Fix windsock position (WIP) Fix taxiway signs. If you know how taxiway name are layed out, drop me a message and I’ll fix them. 3. Hi. I am founder of Live traffic modificationg discord group. We allready did some great job there "how to convert livery textures to 2K in mass edit patch". And we did help dev of AIground and AIflow there also. Now it its time for my 3rd project: injected GA traffic. I have selected to use ELT (https://flightsim.to/file/17289/enhanced-live-traffic) to inject GA traffic to the sim. It has great potential and dev knows what i am doing with it. Basic goal is: a) ELT injecting GA traffic to the skies b) FSLTL injecting airliners to the skies and the airports ELT has some bugs: - in ground, aircraft is moving stuttering (10m every 5sec), but in app you can exlude ground traffic - aircrafts spawns near ground, but gaining to the correct altitude in time ELT inject traffic from fr24 data and you can include only GA traffic and gliders. Here is prove of concept, what i am doing atm: GA traffic injected by ELT (Enhanced Live Traffic 3.03) - YouTube and some screenshot attached (Glider as a GLID designated flight from fr24 data and asobo´s c152 used as ai traffic plane injected by ELT) I need some help with this, modelmatching need lots of work, i dont have. My goal is use freeware models from flightsim.to to test this (like in beta) and if this theory works, i wil contact model devs and discuss can i publish these "modded, light fps" versions in one single pack. If you are interessed joining to help me, here is discord link to my server and there is own topic for this work: https://discord.gg/3zFnNnuJ
  4. Ocotillo Airport (L90) is located in Ocotillo Wells, San Diego County, California. It features two runways with dirt surfaces. The first runway, 13/31, measures 4.210 by 150 feet (1,283 x 46 m), while the second runway 9/27 is 2,330 by 150 feet (710 x 46 m). on’t expect taxi sign, runway lights and even edge marking. The airport is surrounded by hills, adding a unique challenge for pilots. The airport sees an average of 60 aircraft operations per month, primarily transient general aviation and even some military. You can meet Osprey blowing sand here! Free to download at https://flightsim.to/file/69641/ocotillo-wells-airport-l90 Historically, during World War II, the airport was used by the US Navy and was known as Naval Outlying Field, Ocotillo Dry Lake1. It served as a training base and supported various operations. The airport was returned to the county in 1956. This airport, with its dirt runways and surrounding hills, offers a unique flying experience that blends history and challenge. It’s the latest of the 8 aviation facilities owned by the County of San Diego included in the collection https://flightsim.to/collection/35/san-diego-general-aviation-airports It didn’t take time to build hangars and airport’s buildings. There’s none And the two runways lied on a dry lake. The surface is soft or sandy depending of the condition. It’s hard to identify the runway from the ground. Ocotillo ends my amateur task to covered all small General Aviation airports managed by the San Diego County. Palomar (KCRQ) and San Diego International are covered by commercial product. For the rest, feel free to test my freeware sceneries: https://flightsim.to/profile/vbazillio Hope you'll enjoy ! Feel free to share your feedback, there's a lot of room for improvement. 6. Yes Another Small GA Airport in California. Here we go. One after another (KPVF). Here's the early screenshot of Mariposa Yosemite Airport (KMPI) project in MSFS Scenery Editor. Of course, if you know a dev who have already started this airport, please let me know ASAP! The airfield is small but the terraformring is more complex that expected. If you have hirez picture or video of the any local infrastructure, please let me know! I need uptodate and detailed info. And if you want to support , just click "Follow me" (which means "I want this too"), on the flightsim.to scenery request page : https://flightsim.to/requests/sceneries/9437/mariposa-yosemite-airport-kmpi It's free ! Thank you!
  7. Germany West Airfields is a collection of 22 small GA, ultralight and glider airstrips in the western part of Germany. Installation: unzip into the community folder To see the objects, please install the free World Updates from the MSFS Marketplace https://darshonaut.blogspot.com/p/msfs-2020.html |Büllingen|EBBN| |Hinterweiler|ED25| |Morschenich|ED30| |Bergheim|EDIO| |Düren|EDIR| |Emmerich|EDIS| |Gustorf|EDIT| |Stolberg|EDIV| |Heiligenhaus|EDJD| |Mönchsheide|EDJY| |Krefeld|EDLK| |Wesel|EDLX| |Köln|EDP9| |Wershofen|EDRV| |Hoherodskopf|EDUR| |Düsseldorf|EDUU| |Langenfeld|EDUX| |Kerken|EDVV| |Weilerswist|EDYV| |Schalkenmehren|EDZO| |Venlo|EHVN| |Naunheim|EXOA| One airstrip is fictional and two are located in the Netherlands and Belgium, directly across the border to Germany. Most of these airports used to be available in earlier versions as separate downloads on a widely used shareware portal. I now made a single installation out of these and they can be downloaded from my website.
  8. Got some humor? Me too. I've read this thread with great interest and humor: Now: what is PBR? Some people call it physically based rendering, I just name it pretty brilliant reflections (PBR). It's looking quite the same: And what is best: you can enjoy pretty brilliant reflections (PBR) with FSX, with affordable hardware, with general aviation (where the proud owners have time to polish, beware from dust and regularely rewash = pbr). And you can buy it just now: https://www.aeroplaneheaven.com/product_swift.php Best greetings Peter
  9. After reviewing my options with Big A Airlines I decided to apply the name (and domain) to a recently developed Air Taxi project I have been working on, off and on, for the last three months. Originally named Napa Valley Air Taxi the virtual airline provides general aviation charters and some limited scheduled excursion service around the San Francisco Bay area and to southern Lake Tahoe. This airline concept has been in the works for more than two years, with a few starts and stops and reconsideration's along the way. The biggest stumbling block was how to bring a realistic approach to such a small, essentially charter, operation and still have it work like a virtual airline. The solution was to make the website for a real air taxi airline, then on one single operations page offer all of the VA information in a compact format. We offer three after-market aircraft, the Cessna T206H Stationair, Beech King Air 300 and Piaggio P-180, and two default aircraft, the Cessna 182S and Beech King Air 350. This allows operations in either FS9 or FSX by even the most basic of users. Since aircraft of this nature are not generally equipped with an ACARS system in real life, we use a manual ACARS system from SATA Virtual. This is an older ACARS system but works well in FS2002, FS9 and FSX. All of the ACARS files necessary are found on the website. This is a small virtual airline, we are not here to compete with larger and more complex VA's, what we offer is an alternative to long routes with large aircraft by giving you reasonable and fun charters, semi-scheduled flights and a wide selection of prop driven aircraft. It's a trend I have seen discussed a lot over the last half year, hopefully it's one that others are interested in as well. www.big-a-air.com
  10. So I'm thinking about buying my first third-party aircraft for MSFS 2020. I want something that's pretty much a complete aircraft from A to Z that has very little to no inops. Something that's realistic to the flight model would be nice too but also not too difficult to fly. Autopilot is, of course, a must as I like to fly IFR often in challenging weather. To that end, I've narrowed my choices to either the Just Flight Piper Arrow (any of the variants, I'd likely buy the vanilla/turbo bundle) or Carenado Mooney M20R. Piper Arrow seems to offer a compelling package, but I also like going high, fast and far and the Mooney gives that. I'd much rather have a biz jet, but there aren't any on the market and the CJ4 is presently one of the crown jewels of aircraft in MSFS (with the Working Title mod, natch). Which one would you suggest? Especially asking those who may have both aircraft in their hangars!
  11. Taking the economical Diamond DA40 up for the first time for what I term a $50 Hamburger run. I know, I know! It's a $100 Hamburger run, but there are two of us aboard. Ten gallons of 100LL Avgas at $4.09 self serve, some flight time, and $14.00 each for food including tip. Add it up, ÷ 2. It gets there! Longer runs will certainly be back in the colloquial $100 range. Up off KMTN Martin State Airport with a nice view of downtown Baltimore, Maryland, and the Baltimore inner harbor. A bit of a fisheye look at Baltimore’s M&T Bank NFL football and Camden Yards MLB baseball stadiums. After a turn north, this is a swing into southeast Pennsylvania with a look at Dutch Amish country outside Lancaster. After circling north around Philadelphia, now heading south over southern New Jersey. That series of manmade lakes out off the left wing is the community of Medford Lakes. Now a community of mostly log cabin homes, it first became a weekend getaway area for luminaries from NYC, Philadelphia, Wilmington, Delaware., during the late 1920's. Thus the log cabin heritage. Local ordinances require maintaining a consistent percentage of log construction, even if building an addition or guest house. I lived in Medford Lakes for 13 years from the mid 1980’s to the late 1990’s. The origin of those small lakes was to provide cooling for early lead and iron mills where cannonballs were produced as early as during the American Revolutionary War. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medford_Lakes,_New_Jersey A view to the east from over the NJ Turnpike (not in view). What you see leading east is the Atlantic City Turnpike. In the distance you can barely make out the skyline of Atlantic City. The winding ribbon of reflection is the Maurice River of southern NJ as it flows into the Delaware bay between Wilmington, Delaware, and Cape May, NJ. On final late in the day to KWWD, Cape May County airport, Cape May, NJ. KWWD is nicely represented in MSFS. May not be real accurate, but perfect for a new visitor. The hamburger destination today is the Flight Deck Diner on the airport grounds. There is a military history theme at the airport. Hangar #1 contains the Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum, whose collection focuses on World War II. The museum is named after the former Naval Air Station Wildwood, which was nearby. The Flight Deck Diner shares in that military history theme. The menu has a good deal of variety including a separate breakfast menu, and easily allows a $10-$15 burger meal, and even morning pancake runs.
