FSX CTD with FSInn
Joe Flyer2 posted a topic in The VATSIM | vPilot | FSInn Unofficial Support Forum
Hi. Just closed out of the tab I was starting a topic in. Got to retype everything . Alright, lets start off saying that people say "Read the stickies for more info." I don't know how to access a stickie, so.... Alright. I'm just going to cut to the chase because my other post was really detailed, but I accidentally closed the tab, so here it goes. FSInn is really awesome, but since day one, I have been having CTD's at least once to twice each time of use. I tried starting it externally, but that, though seemed stable, eventually failed. So, I went back to the internal FSCopilot Control Panel via FSX Add-ons tab. I don't understand! Everybody says FSInn was "Very Stable," but it surely doesn't seem so. Well, I'm not here to criticize. I am just seeking ideas or answers towards how to fix (or prevent) the infamous CTD's that I know FSInn is a big factor of. I installed it correctly as other people have said to (I'm not specific because I'm in a rush, sorry). The only message I get is when FSX says "A Fatal Error Occurred." I can maybe post the Event Viewer log later if somebody replies. But really, it would be much appreciated if someone would help me figure this out. It is really ticking me off. (Again, sorry if my writing seems unspecific or rushed). Does anybody know any common reason FSInn crashes FSX? I run FSX as ADMIN, and non of the modules (beside FSInn UI) are checked as ADMIN. By the way, these crashes don't always happen right away. They seem to only occur either at random (will eventually specify), or when sometimes near other moving aircraft. I don't always say this, but Please Help. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. Joe.- 12 replies

Yeah, so I purchased this aircraft tonight thinking I would be purchasing a quality product as it's a PMDG aircraft. I load up the plane, enter the serial and all is well, go into the virtual cockpit and emanating from the center of the dash is what appears to be a flashing something or other, it's hard to explain. I did a Google search and this issue dates ***BACK TO 2010???*** The solution is to disable the icing effects by selecting medium quality cockpit? Huh? One of the the selling points for me for this aircraft was/is the icing effects on the windshield. Is this acceptable? Please tell me I haven't just wasted money on this software? Andrew Walker

Recently, I re-installed FSX as I think every now and then FSX need's a good re-install! But I have found that I get a lot of CTD with FSX when I wan't to change an aircraft or change something like settings. Also when I wan't to change airports ext... I have never really came across this issue with FSX before! When FSX done it's CTD, it's problem (I think) seemed to be something called "BEX" . I seen that there was a "fix" video for it on YouTube for FSX, but that didn't do any thing to be honest.... Any suggestions? Cheers, E.M.
