  1. Absolutely and I do that as well... but just hoping the functionality is there since the cost of this product is quite high for a helicopter. A lot of my simming is beta testing, so shooting approaches is one of most structured things to do. I also fly approaches for airspace fam/SA at my job, just to stay current. And learning new avionics is also one of my favorite parts of simming. Yeah I can understand the thrust or collective would be controlled by the pilot. For now I need to go back to the manual and review some things - it's a complex bird for sure! There's a lot of positive things right now like the visuals, sounds and flight model!
  2. One other person says their TDS isn't working. But the devs have it working and so does one other person (with a screenshot). So I guess I'll have to troubleshoot between them and TDS. Isn't flightsim fun? I also bought the S76... That had some serious GNS issues - I tried bug reports but Josh told me I was being annoying or something. I should have sought a refund but whatever, it's not that much money. Anyway on this product, everything is a lot better than the S76... just not sure why TDS won't work. I'm also not a huge fan of the inop LPV Glidepath. I hope they can get that supported as the GNS530W itself is WAAS capable. I love flying approaches in addons - that's kinda how I sim.
  3. Dang. I don't know why perf varies so wildly user to user. I'm not running insane settings by any means. And if I run the same settings in SU4, in SU5, I get the constant resource message argh. I haven't used VR in SU5 much because perf sucks so bad for me. Oh well.
  4. I mean sure, just purely based on my subjective opinion 1) C680 - mostly because of the astounding short field capability, and the amazing soundset. It's the best I've ever heard in a jet. As I said the flight model is top notch too. It was created by John, one of the QA guys at Working Title. This is independent of WT though, and I believe the QA guys are volunteers. So he doesn't work at WT, but he's a cool guy 2) E55P - Raul pours a ton of love into his products (also a cool guy - I met him at the Expo and he personally introduced me to Jorg!). (The M600 - it seems something happened with the version that was supposed to release on Microsoft's end. I'm certain it will get fixed). But the M500 is another superb example. Anyway the Phenom, really fun to fly, awesome systems, cool FBO stuff, decent sounds, also good at short field. It's a little slower than other jets at mach .78 - climb is slower too at 225 kias or .64 I think. The release version got visually downgraded in favor of console sadly... 2K textures is sad in 2026. 3) Contrail Falcon 50 - it's just got a lot of character. I don't personally love the FMS (GNS-XLS) - I miss my Garmins LOL. Great sounds, the flight model is being improved by a third party right now actually - it's going to be a nice improvement. It's a falcon! Three holes! It's cool 4) I love the Longitude. I did a few paints for it. The sounds are okay-ish. Flight model is solid, systems are pretty deep for being default. Love the G5000! Has the entire part 135 stuff, APU etc, plus it has autothrottle for when I get really lazy haha (The C680 also has that stuff). Wish they'd model the HUD. 5) The FSW Lear 35 - really all of these are pretty close on my "you should own this" list. I love the TDS GTNxi support - super nice to fly this plane in VR (not in SU5 cause SU5 eats VRAM for me argh - no third party addons are safe in VR for me actually). Great sounds imo, I talked to one of the guys who flies this for a living and he said it's pretty close to the real one. Their systems are decently modeled as well. I also enjoyed painting it but I haven't updated all of mine for 2024. It's freaking rocketship on departure... you have to be all over the throttles hehe. I love that! 6) FlightFX did a great job on the P180 - I actually sometimes avoid aircraft with the ProLine 21 because I've had some issues with the FMS not loading procedures at all. I've heard it's a bug even with the default CJ4. And I have experienced it in the CJ4. Not sure if its a navigraph thing, or asobo or what. The P180 is a little lighter on systems, but their prices are totally affordable. It's a super fast turboprop. And the avionics are still modern while not being Garmin lol. The speed thing was based on that list. He already owned the C750 so I wasn't including that. Technically the MMO of the Falcon 50 is .86 but all the real world guys tell me that's only on a brand new one, and in perfect conditions. It really only does about .82 under regular conditions. The C700 does go all the way to .84 so, aside from the C750, that's the fastest of those I listed.
  5. I bought this. Sadly the TDS GTNxi integration is totally inop (aside from the units appearing which they do). The CDI needle cannot be turned to the DTK, the CDI doesn't deflect showing left or right of course. The range readout is wrong/inop and the CRS doesn't work either I didn't check PMS. The GNS530 integration is working somewhat fine. I tried to file a bug report that the Glidepath doesn't work during an RNAV approach with vertical minimums (such as LPV). But they are saying they modeled it based on the 1990s version and it isn't going to support that. But they also stuck a GNS530W in this bird.... the W means WAAS lol. Soooo perhaps they should revisit this idea. Plenty of N2's have LPV capable units. ILS's do work though just fine. @sd_flyer The AP took me a long time to get engaged. You'll definitely want to map out force trim and beep trim on your peripherals. Checkout 13.1 in the manual if you have issues getting coupled flight working. Basically make sure you're like totally stable and trimmed before engaging CPL - cause mine wouldn't engage like 8 times. Finally after trimming everything, I pressed it and also used ALT and HDG... the heli pitched up and down abruptly then finally settled and held ALT and HDG. The sounds are excellent The flight model seems pretty nice - I mostly hand flew it, and finally got the AP working it seemed to do the basic modes just fine. Didn't try a coupled ILS yet. Coupled NAV on the GNS530 worked fine. The visuals are solid as well. I spent 54 USD on this - It's a hefty chunk of change for a helicopter with no WAAS integration and broken TDS GTNxi integration. I bought their 500C almost when it came out, and the TDS was also poorly integrated in that. It took them over 8 months to do it (mostly) properly. If you just want a semi fast helicopter to play around in, and don't care about RNAV approach capability or anything, it's a solid helicopter. I really hope they can get the TDS working. That's mostly why I bought it. Thankfully I used paypal though so I can potentially get money back - I'm not waiting 8 months this time on a 54 USD product.
  6. For me there were hardly any options. Virpil has good reviews but I called their Florida location during business hours (multiple times) and nobody was home lol. Their stuff is like always out of stock anyway. Who else builds high end throttles, yokes, sticks, pedals?
  7. I feel like cloud bases are fairly uniform. I've spent many of my working days staring at the skies from the control tower. Obviously there are times they aren't like during thunderstorms where you have a huge overhang perhaps with mammatus underneath Here's a timelapse from NM showing cloud growth (scroll down the page a little). They all seem to have a semi flat base. Maybe not 100% perfectly flat, but still pretty flat imo That's why we have pireps with clouds tops and bases in aviation. Cloud bases are almost always fixed, whereas tops will be ragged or variable tops as expected. I actually don't like when bases are more rounded in the sim... it's almost like the design of the cloud is inverted - I've seen that a few times. IMO that's a bug and no realistic. Most clouds do have a general flat-ish base to them. NCASResearchers capture breathtaking cloud formations in New...Watch the moment that dramatic cloud formations take over clear skies above the Magdalena Mountains in New Mexico. Here's a pic of me landing in Oklahoma City and the cloud bases are pretty flat here Other times you'll get virga/rain from the bases and they hang down, that's normal like in this nice pic
  8. It's possible your settings are out of sync. That occasionally happens with the cloud, or if you use autofps or any UI mods. But you can see how ugly and generic most of the smaller buildings are with PG off. In my area of the world (midwest USA), disabling PG means I get a lot of red roofed square buildings (far too many of them) - and it's just so ugly. The slightly melted TIN/PG is worth it to me as it's only really ugly below about 500' agl imo. I do agree that typically disabling PG yields better performance though.
  9. Ahhh so you might still have vram issues but you've removed the message hehe. I will check out the mod as well because the popup annoys me greatly heh! After some reading it may not in SU5 latest beta... that's probably why things are better for you. SU4 was a great patch for me too. But SU5 is a VRAM eater... not sure what happened.
  10. I guess a lot of people like analog gauges. The 2024 lear 35 at least, is pretty in depth with solid systems, excellent sounds, and a decent flight model (at least that's what one of their testers told me who flew it). Plus it has dual TDS GTNxi support which allows you have more modern flexibility. I don't mind analog gauges but I like to be able to shoot all kinds of approaches and not just NDB/VOR/LOC/ILS.
  11. They said marketplace release hopefully around 1700-1800z today
  12. This is an amazing time to be a bizjet lover! You already found the C750 (quality of life updates coming Soon TM) Here's some strong points of further options.... Skyward C680 - superb flight model and soundset (I mean it - the sound is maybe the best for any addon), superb climber, excellent at short fields FSR Phenom 300E - superb systems depth and unique FBO system, good at short field, good climber into the low 30s FlightFX Piaggio P180 - nice EFB, flight model, sounds Flysimware Lear 35 - Excellent soundset, flight model (2024 native), great climb performance Contrail Falcon 50 - a unique retro experience, especially with a very different avionics suite, relatively speedy flight plan about mach .82 in the 30s Default 2024 Longitude - fastest of all of these (mmo .84) - in depth systems, beautiful visuals There is an upcoming iniBuilds Global 6000 as well as the WT/Microsoft Embraer Praetor - both use Pro Line Fusion avionics. I'm HIGHLY awaiting these two bizjets. FlightFX has a few things up their sleeve as well ;) I almost forgot about the upcoming Just Flight Lear 45!
  13. I'm shocked you would say that. I have resource messages all the time now in SU5 beta. Perhaps you're not in SU5 beta but that's what coming.... I would absolutely buy a 5090 right now if I had the power supply and money. I wouldn't even hesitate. The VRAM exhaustion is real even with mostly HIGH presets, my RTX 4080 and 1440p monitor. I also have a Reverb G2 and it's not really usable in SU5 beta anymore. I do run a lot of addons though, I love airport addons, paired with high end GA, and I like clouds on Ultra. I tend to run TLOD 300 but sometimes I run AutoFPS cause in the rural areas I enjoy a higher TLOD maybe near 600. SU4 was much better for my system - I hope performance returns. If you search the web, your case appears to be an outlier. Most complain about performance and vram exhaustion in SU5 beta.
  14. What's your general impression of the sim version? I haven't updated mine to 2024 yet. I generally liked in 2020 but I don't fly airliners that much.
