July 17, 200322 yr Moderator Ron,Whilst there are problems with this aircraft (and I have been amongst the more vocal about them!) the aircraft is certainly flyable and I have completed several successful flights.A week may sound like a long time but when you consider it's already compatible with FS2004 you have over 2 years of useability from the PMDG737 which, in most respects, is an excellent package.Sure, the number of bugs that weren't trapped is disappointing but once the patch is out I'm sure these first few weeks will soon be replaced by many months of enjoyable flights.Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England). July 17, 200322 yr Thank you for the update. I know I would prefer to wait for a patch that works rather than a quick one that doesn't really address the issues.Perhaps you should open this up to a wider beta team after seeing how much got through the first one. I do not mean this as an insult against them, but for whatever reason a lot of major things got through the first time.Lee Hetherington (KBED)
July 17, 200322 yr Will SIDS, STARS and approaches be made available sooner or part of the patch? Thank you.BobP:) ..... Bob Prince
July 17, 200322 yr just my $.02Thanks PMDG for the updates ... that's what customer service is all about!!!! I have very happily flown the 737 in it's first "revenue" flight, for me . LEMD to LPPT and it worked flawlessly .. recognizing the few little issues and avoiding them. Also have dome some successfull short runs from lax to SFO and KSAN to LAX ... FINE piece of software.SO IMHO ... WELL WORTH THE $$$$ .. flyable and added to my "revenue fleet" Only wish I had more timne to fly!!!!Since I am 54, over the years I have learned PATIENCE and a certain amount of frustration tolerance. For all of you impatient people out there expressing your frustration and dissatisfaction, I respect your right to do that ... but appeal to your sense of reality ... what good does it do to be constantly naysaying and grousing .. it really is a bad reflection on you and offers nothing. Your constructive criticisms and bug reports are very valuable and helpful and a positive contribution to the product I am sure, and they are appreciated by everyone. This software and its interaction with many many combinations of operating system and computer hardware is EXTREMELY complex ... try to understand that and realize that PMDG and other developers strive for a "PERFECT" implementation ... however, given the infinity of combinations ... it is impossible .. but these guys are doing their level best fo satisfy everyone and solve the problems. It does take time.Patience!!
July 17, 200322 yr I couldn't agree more Paul. I'm flying all over the place and don't have any real problems. (As long, that is, as I remember to avoid the VNAV Dive :-) .) I just flew it KSFO-KLAX-KLAS and the FMC was marvelous. Sure, there are a couple of bumps in the road. But this is an incredibly complex package. The PMDG crew is one of the best in the business and they'll get everything right. Folks just need to relax, sit back and enjoy what is already a first-rate product. The support has been super to-date and it will get even better as the team gets some of the start-up issues off their backs. Now I'm off for a quick flight from KLAS down to Phoenix I'm going to quit for the day and go hit some golf balls.Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. July 17, 200322 yr Robert,Good move! Better to wait and have a fully working, tested patch!Keep up the good work!
July 17, 200322 yr hi,thank you for the update. i am not sure if anybody has already adressed this bug to y Denis Kosbeck KPHX
July 17, 200322 yr Moderator Eric,Don't you think you're over-reacting just a bit? The team are doing everything they can to locate and fix the problems. Does it really matter if they talk to Microsoft? Ultimately, the most important thing is that they fix it and of that I'm sure they will. Just give them a chance eh?<>If by "it" you mean the PMDG737 then that's not correct - you can certainly fly it. It has faults but these can be worked around. Then again, if you mean using certain liveries that aren't currently available then just load the Continental and use your imagination. ;-) <>Yes, they are so please give them a bit of credit for that. I understand you may be frustrated over some of the bugs but venting your spleen here ultimately achieves nothing and will have a negative effect on the development team. You're not alone in wanting this aircraft to be 100% right but I've seen enough from the developers to know that they care about what they do and will get it right.Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England). July 17, 200322 yr I was recommended to this aircraft by a real world pilot.rated from the 737 up to 747 400. His comments are that it's the best aircraft with the right feel as any made for FS.So on that I bought the goods. From the start I had installation problems, but on contacting support I got the very best of help to resolve the fault and in a short time it was.Okay we are all TEST PILOTS on this product.Better Beta Testers next time!! Some have, some don't have the same related problems, but I do find the honesty of the makers some what refreshing!Yes they did send out this aircraft with a list of faults.I have flown this aircraft on several flights and found that it flys to what you as pilot in puts into it. But some major items need to be redressed to give customer satisfaction. So on the time scale that they are asking for to solve and retified lets give the Guys a chance. Then if they do not then kick A.
July 18, 200322 yr PMDGReally apreciate you taking the time to keep us up to date on the status of the upcomming patch. One shouldnt expect everything to always go according to the way we plan. You guys put out a great product in my opinion and Im sure you will continue to make it even better. Nick
July 18, 200322 yr Matthias - I thought we were friends!!!!I find it amusing that you use a word like 'unintelligibility'. I find it amusing because that word doesn't actually exist.I think you perhaps should take your own advice - think first before posting. However, I do realize that English perhaps isn't your native language. Also, I seem to remember (from the PIC forum) that you don't actually own a copy of the NG yet either. I guess it is therefore OK for you to say 'take your time'. Still, everyone is entitled to their opinion. That fact is so often lost.Regards,Richard David Crane BSc (Hons) CIBiol aged 33.5 ;-)
July 18, 200322 yr "(sorry for those "down-under" )."No need to be, Bruce.... The sun is shining here and the temperature was in the 70's yesterday ;-)Cheers.Ian.
July 18, 200322 yr Eric,Like I said in my first post there has been too much talk about this issue and where did that take us? Nowhere... we are still waiting! Do you think it Regards, Hugo Bravo LPPT
