Foreware 163.75

Featured Replies

I'm surprised that nobody has commented on the 163.75 WHQL drivers yet. I suppose it hasn't fixed any of the issues people are having. I can't try them since I won't be at home till the weekend.

I have seen posts in a couple of topics - especially the one about acessing the menu bar in full screen mode (the problem that really got me to hate the SP2 patch).I just finished the download for my 7900GS and will be trying it out tonight.Sure hope it works.

I had a couple of "driver stopped working" with 169.04 and DX 10 mode, but during missions only, so I uninstalled the beta drivers, cleaned my system from the nvidia drivers in save mode and those installed WHQL.I could finish 2 missions without encountering any problems now. They seem to work better then the beta drivers, at least for me.Jan

it would be interesting to know, if the annoying problem with accessing the menus has been resolved with this driver? Can somebody comment?Cheers,Michael

I only installed Acceleration yesterday, but I did not encounter any error, except the "driver stopped working" in DX 10 and 169.04.That is why I went "backwards" to the new released WHQL.I can acces all menus without problems.Anyway, I recommend to use driver cleaner before installing this one.I only have one problem left, and that is the DX10 incompatible planes. The freeware planes I don't care, but I have some payware that do not work under DX10, and that hurts (each of them cost as much as Acceleration). It is difficult to describe, but DX10 makes a big difference for me : somehow the bloom softens the scenery and it is much closer to real life. Same for the new water effects, the lights, the internal cockpit shadows etc, and almost no hit (only 1 FPS for me!). In DX9 bloom and high water came with a serious performance hit (50%).But it is difficult to show in a screenshot.I think I will stick with stock aircraft for now and enjoy the missions.Jan

Oh Jan, you got it working? Fine. Now pleeeeaaaase ;-)DX9 no bloom water low 2.x against DX10 with bloom and water med or high 2.x screenshots are the duty of the day ;-) ;-) And it's good to hear HDR bloom IS an improvement even over DX0 bloom ...Bigean

New Forceware 163.75 drivers seem to help Acceleration. Previously with the beta drivers I had a lot of CTDs, especially accessing the menus. Now so far no problems. There are still texture issues but those have to be dealt with by the scenery and aircraft designers.Dual Core x6800 2gb ram GeForce 8800GTS 640mb Windows xpLee

Speaking of these drivers, is anyone having issues using these on the 7950GT? Thanks all,Ken

Downloaded them yesterday, did Driver Cleaner and CCleaner, and installed them. You can see me computer specs below in my signature. Have 7950GX2 and these drivers work flawlessly and smoothly. I've had no issues with them. They're a keeper for me. Very often I think Driver issues occur because the old ones are not completely purged, and the installation is done hastily and not correctly. My opinion of course...but I've tried it both ways and "cleaning" the old remnants usually produces the desired effect.

One more question, I've installed the latest version of nHancer, said to work with these new drivers; and noticed that when selecting the FS9 and FSX profiles, it does not allow you to delete them; but you can modify them...any news on a "fix" on this issue? Thanks again!
