July 18, 200916 yr I've often wondered about REX compared to Xgraphics which I have been using for a while. I am somewhat happy with Xgraphics but there are so many choices in there that are nasty that it takes a while to find a setup that looks good to me. Anyone used both that can compare for me?

July 18, 200916 yr So .... someone has any news in the 2.0 version??? The 1.0 version is marvelous. I saw 2.0 screens and ..... woww!!! Whatis that??? Incredible beautiful!!!!It Flavio Cardoso - P3Dv4.5 HF3 Win 10 Pro 64Bits - i74960X 4.5ghz - ASUS Rampage IV Black Ed. - Corsair H150i Platinum - 32gb Ripjaws Z - ASUS RTX 2080 SUPER SC - MCP 737R 2015 Virtual Avionics
July 18, 200916 yr REXed, GEXed and UTXed is the way to fly. I love REX because it's the only way I know to get a sky full of beautiful clouds without too much of a performance hit. (In fact, since you are usually getting a realistic visibility limitation, you might save some FPS.) But then add the different waters, themes, and you have something truly wonderful in the world of flight simulation. I'm looking forward to 2.0, too, but I already have most of what I want. The ability to take weather into consideration visually in flight planning is going to be great, if it works like I hope it does.
July 19, 200916 yr Yup REX, UTX, GEX... WOWEX!Tim,I had problems with corrupt files when downloading so I just purchased the CD service..... Though you might want to know ,as I say the abaove post about download.
July 19, 200916 yr Frankly although REX is a massive download, I think it is worth the effort. If you have a fairly decent connection, it doesn't take that long, even though I seem to recall it involving about five or six 650Mb files, for a total of just over 4Gb of data. So don't expect to download it in five minutes - more like a good hour or so on ADSL.What is interesting about REX is that in addition to making FSX look prettier, it can actually improve the frame rates. It takes a bit of getting the hang of to have it suit your requirements, but I think most people who have REX would not want to revert back to the default FSX stuff. The Flight Planner which comes with REX is a bit on the naff side and not really of much use, although I think even the developers of REX would admit that it is more in the nature of 'a work in progress bonus feature' than a reason to purchase REX itself, and what REX does for your weather depiction means that it is no great loss that the flight planner is a bit poor, and I think I'm correct in saying that the next version of REX will see it better implemented, at which point it will be the cherry on top. It's worth noting too that REX tweaks up more than the skies, in that it can improve the look of airports, oceans and rivers considerably as well. It's definitely one of the 'Must Haves' for FSX in my opinion.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

Though you might want to know ,as I say the abaove post about download. That is a shame, I apologize. :( it does happen sometimes with such large d/l's... unfortunately. The Flight Planner which comes with REX is a bit on the naff side and not really of much use, although I think even the developers of REX would admit that it is more in the nature of 'a work in progress bonus feature' than a reason to purchase REX itself, and what REX does for your weather depiction means that it is no great loss that the flight planner is a bit poor, and I think I'm correct in saying that the next version of REX will see it better implemented, at which point it will be the cherry on top.AlHi Al, we have revisited this, no doubt. July 19, 200916 yr That's one big list Tim. I'm looking forward to REX 2.0. Can I just ask what this is: "Added spotlight specific for RealAir's Beechcraft Duke". Sorry if it sounds a bit of thick question.Quite frankly, I couldn't fly without REX on my flights, the change it gives to FSX is staggering. CheersRhydian
