ASA SP1 Cloud popping.

Featured Replies

Hi All,It is something that we are not sure of the cause. Some of you know I have flown the exact same plans as you, so you know I have tried to reproduce this. I am not sure if it is a settings issue, FSUIPC issue, or systems issue.I know for me my FSUIPC is set to default settings and weather settings off and I can post my ASA settings if that would help. Thanks,Jim
Please Jim, i have the same issue, regardsChris

JimPlease do post your ASA settings, it's worth a try. I also have FSUIPC on default with the weather off. Please understand that I'm fully aware that you have tried to reproduce this and please do not read any unpleasantness into my posts. ASA wouldn't be my 3rd Hi-Fi Sim purchase if I didn't have faith in your genuine good intentions to do the best for your clients. If, at the end of the day, we can't solve this, it'll will be disappointing, but by no means will be the end of the world.

Thanks, I'll give that a go.

Hi Jim!Where do you set the "UPDATE RANGE=300" ? Ralf

Hi,That is not a slider option but a "soft coded" option. Meaning it's mostly there for testing purposes. It determines the processing radius of the data. You should leave it at 300.Thanks,

I am interested to hear if this helps as like the others I can repro this on every flight... One second it is dense cloud cover, the next it is clear. For me, this is an annoyance but what really kills me is when I am just about to begin my takeoff roll or execute a landing and the "Depiction Mode Active" starts and cripples the sim. I always know when ASA is working, you can tell by FS stuttering along. Is there anyway to suppress below xxx or even better, when we upload a FlightPlan for processing ASA should not update within xxx miles of destination or departure after the first set... Something to ensure our takeoffs and landings are smooth...Thanks in advance,-Paul

Just for the record, with SP1 on FS9.1 I still get this, although it is, perhaps, not quite as frequent since the update.Iain Smith

Hi all !Same problem here.Felix

Me too.It happens regardless of whether I use DWC or not. Using a flightplan in ASA doesn't make any difference either. No such problem in FSX though.Stu

Since buying ASA, I've been getting some cloud popping here and there, but tonight flying from Boston to Miami, it's been really bad. This is a pretty fresh install of FS 9.1. Every 30 seconds or so at times, a haze will pop in, clouds will pop out, then in, then change to a completely new look - meaning it looks like totally different weather loading up. Sorry I can't explain it any better. Also, when one of these changes happens, the plane itself (Level D) will lurch around, lose speed, then struggle to get back on course. This something more than turbulence.Anyway, that's what I'm seeing. And I'm using the settings listed earlier in the thread.Matt
