Anyone still getting spammed by simfly.eu?

Featured Replies

I received another spam from them on the 16th of this month. I tried the unsubscribe option, but it stated that there was a problem with their system and the unsubscibe would not be completed. :(

Yea same here I found one in my spam box from the 16th of November. It seems they are begging for money.

Yes got another one again today. They are wasting their time, I won't be buying anything from them. Rhydian
After a brief lull got yet another spam message from them. It's worth bumping the thread just so anyone thinking of doing business with people who bottom feed via spam think twice about who they are doing business with. I've never done business with these people, and the emails are going to an address I specifically set up for Avsim and only Avsim. It doesn't get used for anything else and would have only been visible by someone with access to Avsim's servers. It peeves me to no end to have spam coming to an unpublished email address, only to be told I have to "unsubscribe" to something I never subscribed to. Until the spam stops, I will bump the thread and parade their lowlife business practices each and every time a spam message comes in.-John

I am with you, John, bumping and saying I got 2 from "them", this week.Blue skies.

Glad to see I'm not the only one getting this junk. I'll just lump it in with the other spam I get, most of which consists of (ahem!!) "increasing the size of my aircraft" :(

Hi, virtual fans. I am with you, John, bumping and saying I got 2 from "them", this week.Blue skies.
Guys, this is a result of Phil Dawson stealing our forum's email database back in May. Please send emails to the UK agency that handles these things (I am not in a position at the moment to look them up). If we get enough folks complaining about this to the proper authorities, something positive could result.

My wife's 'puter received one today. I have never used her I'net address here or anywhere. And she has never communicated with AVSIM.We both share a common ISP account with different addresses.Alex Reid

They just hit me again although I had unsubscribed as per the letter posted on this thread. Stephen

Can't you hit delete like you do with all the other spam you get or use your e-mail filter to block their e-mails?

"All the other spam"? Says who?I don't get other spam on the address in question! I rarely get email at all as it's an address I set up for one purpose--to satisfy Avsim's requirement to have an email from an ISP vs. an anonymous service like hotmail or yahoo. From time to time one of the mods here might respond to a question or comment I've made so I keep the account open. Yes, I can hit delete, and yes I can filter (although most spammers play the wonderful game of evading filters). That's not the point. I have a right to be angry. I cannot prove someone took my email addy from Avsim (and I am not going to be the one to file a complaint without such proof). But if it ever is proven by someone with the resources to do so, I hope anyone who queries the web when the person applies for a job (and that is getting done more and more these days) knows how "trustworthy" an employee the person will (won't) make. I well remember this quote from him, posted in our forums here on May 12th:"This email was generated at my end, the list is nothing to do with AvSim and contains email addresses collected via various programs released over the years." Pretty hard for someone to collect an email address that's unpublished, and not even shared with my family. I use my spambait email (hotmail, yahoo) for online purchases and I use another email to communicate with my family. Read the thread again:http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=249901Mr. Spammer was pretty arrogant and unapologetic then, and Simfly certainly hasn't done anything to reduce the ill will they built in our community if they still advertise in this manner. I hope someone files a complaint as Tom suggests, but I am sorry I cannot be the one, I don't have access to the resources I'd need to prove a case and my word alone does not carry enough weight to sway a judge 5000 miles away. -John

Concerning my earlier posts, I still have not received any additional email from them after using the "new-and-improved" unsubscribe feature.

Mike...
