This is very exciting news! We'll probably be looking at a couple of years before they have a finished retail product, but knowing that something is being worked on is a very exciting prospect to me.Thanks for sharing the news. :)

Happy Flying!

I hope they

what an awful news, and i shall explain why.now that aces is back the chances we see a new sim from aerosoft will shrink. I believe that since this is a new group of developers it would take YEARS until they can produce a retail worthy product and buy thus we'll have to be depandent on them to come up with a sim... may i bring up the whole duke nuke'em fiasco.. how long did them poor fans waiting for a game that has been developed for morfe than a decade and still hasnt been release and will NEVER be released.i dont want think to happen to our group.just my 0.000001 cents.

I hope they

Well, I think a major question will be what platform will they be developing for?Can Microsoft lay off an employee AND force them to sign a non-compete clause? Doesn't seem right if they can do that.I don't think it will be so bad if they develop for XBox etc.. And may be smarter considering their plans on developing lots of different types of sims. Seems like they are attacking the "World" simulator concept so discussed on the release of FSX/Train sim, as the same engine could be used for all theoretically.

I'm not sure I will live long enough to see another FS release.I just told my computer about this and it threw up all over me. :(

Back into the upgrade rat race :(

I'm not saying it isn't a flight sim...but they haven't said it is.

"...our vision extends beyond flying and railroading,

I would be very surprised if they would produce a flight simulator as the first product. Why? They had to compete with both FSX, FS9 and possible with Aerosoft FS 2012. It would much be more smart to produce a totally new kind of simulator, such as the mentioned scuba diver sim. Followed up by a sub marine sim. Why? Profit of course.

As a new player in the market they will want to target the area that will give them quick profits (relatively speaking given the time software develpment takes)If that target market includes Flight Simulation I'm not so sure.Bryan.

I personally think that this is FABULOUS news. All of those who moaned and groaned about the Microsoft invovlement don't have that complaint. Or, perhaps Microsoft will job the work out to these guys rather than have them be an in-house deal. Think the former is most likely.
