October 14, 200916 yr “We want to deliver unique experiences that appeal to diverse audiences around the world.”This quote bothers me. A different developer/publisher stated this about some of the games it now owns (after they bought up the development studio that orginally created the PC games when TC needed to unload them prior to his divorce) and they totally messed up the genre that was originally created by the bought up studio. Create games that appeal to those who want a specific kind of game, but create a seperate game without diluting the "sim" type game with features that "arcade" type gamers like. October 14, 200916 yr Short attention span games is where the money is at. So i suspect this guys could come up with a plane sim, but one where the only thing that is simulated is your joystick, so you can have an xbox style bash around in the sky
October 14, 200916 yr All non compete agreements have time limits (well at least the ones that stand up in court). My guess is that by the time they release something the time limit will have long expired.Mark. Mark CYYZ
October 14, 200916 yr Short attention span games is where the money is at. So i suspect this guys could come up with a plane sim, but one where the only thing that is simulated is your joystick, so you can have an xbox style bash around in the skyThe real irony in that is, this company also has arguably the best combat flight sim around, the iL2 franchise not to mention the Silent Hunter franchise. If they can keep publishing (and paying for development) of even smaller niche market games compared to FPSs, why not keep the sequels to the original games based on they way there were originally developed and create the SASGs that do garner more money? They can cover all fields and still make money. This is why that quote bothers me. Trying to appeal to all gamers means a failure all around typically. October 14, 200916 yr I took the online survey that came out a little while ago and it did not lead me to believe that a new sim as we have been used to will be developed, this could have been a ploy though, they just may want to throw us off.I have been reading the Aerosoft forums with great interest, and they are looking for flight sim enthusiasts input and are scheduling release for Easter 2012. Apparently they have been in discussion with 3rd party devs as well: http://www.forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?showforum=278Lets see where things take us. I for one think s is an exciting time.Regards, \Robert Hamlich/

October 14, 200916 yr Could we see a iPhone game from this studio-it'd very interesting if they would do that.Hope they focus on the PC as the main platform. Also I could forsee Microsoft possibly workinf with this newly formed studio in regards to the FS IP at somepoint in the future as well as working on their own new simulation game.
October 14, 200916 yr To be honest, I do not find this interesting nor am I excited about the news. Once they have a new and better flight sim ready, they will have my complete attention, same goes for Aerosoft and their project, but until then... Mike...
October 14, 200916 yr Perhaps it won't be too long and we'll find out what they are up to. I note that the company was founded in April of this year.ProjectsThe Light at the End of the TunnelThe team at Cascade Game Foundry is hard at work on the design and demo for our first project. October 14, 200916 yr We're all trying to read between the lines. "The Light at the End of the Tunnel" is sure provocative. Toot, toot! I have nothing against trains, or row boats either, for that matter. However, I just hope that their first project has wings. Then again, a riding lawn mower simulator could be fun! "Nothing runs like a Deere".Noel WMy daughter was shocked that I'd spent so much money on nothing more than a lawn mower. She couldn't understand why I kept saying "but its a Deere"! Anyway, shortly after I purchased it, I got into a bit trouble and I couldn't stop the mower running down a hill and crashing into a water tank. I went back to the house to get some help and said to the family "I've just crashed the Deere" to which my daughter replied, dripping with sarcasm, "I hope the airbags didn't go off Dad"! :( That's what the women in our lives do isn't it. Bring us back down to earth when we need it. Anyway, maybe that ride on mower simulator is not a bad idea!! Sorry, what were we all talking about......? No. No, Mav, this is not a good idea. October 14, 200916 yr what an awful news, and i shall explain why.now that aces is back the chances we see a new sim from aerosoft will shrink. This is good news! Aerosoft quality is abysmal for the most part anyway and their support is even worse. Personally I would never buy anything from them again. Go aces! I look for something from them in 2 years or so.
